One unique Thai drama! + THE BEST CHEMISTRY EVER!❤️❤️

I've been watching American and asian dramas for the past twelve years, I can assure you, its something I've never seen in my life before! STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!

It is so amazing that it gives you a total roller coaster ride - especially in the last few episodes. Make sure to watch it with subtitles!

The story is a big plus for the drama, and the main leads - Mark and Mew did an amazing job. AND THEIR CHEMISTRY IS JUST MIND BLOWING!!! I can't imagine any other actors playing the characters.

You may find the first episode nothing extraordinary, but the last few minutes of ep1 will make you go on with the drama. By episode 6 or 7, you will be hooked on- its totally addictive and when the drama is over be ready to get delusional, watching their off-screen and bts videos in Instagram, trying to slap yourself out of Tian and Muey’s world!

Mark and Mew portrayed the emotions of Thien and Moei perfectly! The male lead is handsome, smart, arrogant and stuck up but cares for the female lead without knowing it himself. And when he realises his love for her, it's just sweet and emotional. The female lead is Not your typical drama character but she's cute, funny, energetic, sassy, smart, bold and really caring and totally lovable. Her selfless care for her loved one is just adorable ❤️.

And I don't have any words to describe the scenes when they confess their love for each other. Mark and Mew's acting is just out of the world!! Believe me, Mark and Mew literally make you laugh when they laugh and you'll cry when they cry.

Also the dialogues of the female lead and the little poem snippets are just sassy and lovable❤️. The scenes shot in Myanmar and Mew in traditional Myanmar dress are just beautiful and worth watching! Plus Mew nittha's bright smile really suits Moei's character!

Not only the main leads, but also the TPC gang, Hammock gang, P'Ri, P'Mon, and Thien's mom, Yada and Co. (also Ohuya dog and Snow cat) did a very good job . You won't find any annoying characters in the drama, and the plot doesn't involve Revenge, kidnap, forced love unlike typical Thai drama (no offense to those who like them though!)

On the whole every character in the drama makes it enjoyable. The cinematography is really good! And the music is also amazing! Loved the Ost by Sin (singular). Also don't miss their promotional interviews and special events, its all over Instagram with subtitles. (People went crazy asking for subs even for promotions !)

The only minus I could point out is the editing in some episodes was a bit sloppy when they tried to add the flash back scenes, but it doesn't affect the story. Also, there's a bit of drama in last couple of episodes, however the director aptly justified it in an interview, quoting
'love doesn't end with the word LOVE,
love doesn't end with loving each other,
but love needs understanding and confidence in each other.'

Overall the drama has humour, romance, hot scenes, but also emotional and very sweet. Don't miss it! This will be that one drama I'll never be able to forget in my life! Hoping to watch another drama by mark and Mew soon. MARK AND MEW HAVE GOT THE BEST CHEMISTRY EVER!! And they'll be my favourite on-screen couple! (I do respect their personal life!)

I haven't seen any thai lakorn before and this is my very first and I like it very much. The story is sweet and the main actor and actress's chemistry is amazingly lovely. Mark Prin portrayed the character of P'Thien very professionally and expressed the emotions very well. Mewnittha also portrayed Moei very well and cute. All the supporting characters are very good, too. Also, the locations are very beautiful and what I like the most is revealing the hidden beauties of my country, Myanmar. Thank you the whole production team, and all the people belonging to this lakorn for making my Mondays and Tuesdays meaningful.

The story had your typical marriage-contract trope - which I'm a big fan of.^^ It was cute and really funny but later took a drastical turn and got really emotional. And because the acting -and the portraying of some situations in general- were pretty realistic, it was sometimes really hard to bear for my poor heart. xD There were even lot's of twists in the story! :) But the story is somehow better explained through the characters, since they were the strongest part of the drama.

CHARACTERS
▸Moei (FL): At first she seemed like those naive, love-driven, standard-FL's. Even a little crazy/delusional. Her behaviour at the beginning even resembled those crazy SFL's. But actually underneath, she was aware the whole time that ML didn't like her. She had a pretty serious side and just swallowed everything what ML said to her. And she was intelligent and strong. Sometimes I couldn't understand some of her decisions tho. She was super interesting for me. She gave, without actually expecting something in return. Such a beautiful person. <3 And she started flirting first. hehe.

▸P'Thien (ML): He was the kinda mean ML, at least he seemed like that. He was turning down the FL. On the one hand you could feel exactly when he fell in love. And especially in the later ep's he had his character development.

▸The friend trio of the ML was hella funny! xD
▸ The evil SL's were sometimes hard to watch but bearable.
▸ AND we got a lesbian couple! :)

CAST/ACTING
As I already mentioned the acting was pretty realistic, especially towards the end. But it was great in general! The cast was amazing. Mark sure is hot and omg, Mew is such a beautiful woman! ^0^ Their styles here really matched them well! They looked so good and natural. :3

MUSIC
Oh my lord. Amazing! They used Slot Machine's "Yesterday" and Mark even covered it. And I love this song soo much! If anyone asks, what kind of music I like - it's this. But the other OST's were great too. Specially the opening. :)

ALL IN ALL
Great drama! Sure it had it's flaws. A few things even didn't make sense to me (only few). But I could overlook them all since I was amazed by the overall. For me it was unique in it's ways :) Loved it. I wish we could see more dramas like that. I enjoyed watching it. And we got a very beautiful ending. (*^▽^*)

Watch it! Enjoy! ^-^

I like it... not so much however (AN HONEST REVIEW FROM A LONG TIME LAKORN VIEWER)

I really dragged myself to finish the show because my lovely Mark was the main lead. (Mind you, it's been awhile since I watched a lakorn since the airing of Baifern's 'Bai Mai Tee Plid Plew'. And I forgot how long lakorns are!! 1 hour and 40 minutes per episode!!) By the way, I really think Mark likes this cold and arrogant character, similar to his previous role in Kleun Cheewit.

Anyways the story, I felt like there were really random parts of the story which took way too much of the show. Such as the hacking between our main leads. Then Myanmar. Then the Moei going off-grid to avoid him. I loved the scenes and they do seem relevant enough, I just don't think I need two to four episodes long in one issue. It was draggy, and the real excitement I actually got was from the beginning when they got married. Honestly, I felt that Yada and her abusive husband had more of an interesting story than this show overall was. I have to admit, I skipped so many scenes to finish the show. Why, because it takes 5 minutes for one scene between two talking people. DRAGGY AF.

I loved the way the writers made Moei's love for Thien consistent. Everything she does is for him, at some point in the drama it starts to feel stalkerish and obsessive but you know how dramatic Lakorn can get. One particular thing about Mew is that she plays her role really well. For example in scenes with Mark; she will constantly look at him and smile like an idiot because that is the character she is playing-- someone completely in love one-sided. Could be the script, but could be that she is an amazing actress.

I actually hate Thien's character. I just really feel like his character could've been written better. Mark executed the script great, just hated how bad they made the character so oblivious.

The cons:

I don't know if it was just me but some scenes were very toxic and are sadly portrayed in media that it's just love. I hated the scene where Thien tied her his bed frame to keep her from going out of his sight. Or when he confiscated her electronics and locked her up in a room a day with no food. Or when she was denied internet connection because he didn't want her contacting the outside world. I know this is typical Thai Lakorns but isn't this too overused. I am a killer for slap n kiss, but this wasn't even that.

Anyways take my review with an grain of salt, you might end up liking it because Mark and Mew did a wonderful job. Yet, as a long time Lakorn audience this was just a typical drama played by two popular celebrities-- and for me was not worth the hype.

DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER

for those plan to watch this lakorn and have been read this review, don't fall for the cute poster and the synopsis. The poster and the synopsis really tell this lakorn is cute and light story but i think it's actually not.

i find this drama is kinda unique eventhough the theme is actually cliche. i love the chemistry between the lead cast. the plot also simple and easy to watch. the plot is really growth episode by episode. the plot twist is also nice but really predictable.

but there are some weakness about the plot. the production team is lacking how to arrange the plot to look better. i don't like how they keep using a throwback method every single episode. i don't know if they really do on purpose but it's really look bad.

overall i really enjoy with this drama and i never skip every single episode.

Overrated !!!!

This is a typical overrated series, the opening of the drama was great but as it goes on the story line becomes vague... the initial 3 episode was great but after that it was too bad, i would have dropped it if not for those hype given for this drama. At first I thought it would get better eventually but it was boring.
Both the leads are typically my favorite but even then I couldn’t complete it without skipping the boring parts. The story line could have been better.
Girl loves the guy, the guy it too busy with his affairs to realize it... but when the guy loves the girl she is afraid and runs away.... it was a literal time waste.
The drama does not proceed it a normal genre it was confusing as it was arranged marriage then hacking then it involves living in a rural area then there is sickness....... the story was like constantly changing which was not pleasant to watch.
And its just my personal opinion

2020 hasn't had any good lakorns but My husband in law is a very good refreshing lakorn. It's a cute love story and the chemistry between Mark and Mew is beyond amazing. They both did so well in this lakorn.

My husband in law was my most anticipated lakorn of 2020 and I honestly was disappointed after watching the first few episodes. I almost dropped the lakorn because the whole hacking story was boring but I came back for it and I'm happy I did. The beginning was stalled for too long, the hacking story went on for too long which made the lakorn lose essence. However, it picked up after episode 7. Mew was no longer hiding her feelings and Mark was slowly falling in love. The moments they spent together was so cute until you realize Mew did all this because she was leaving and that made everything so painful. I really felt her pain because she loves him so much. She did so well playing a girl holding onto her first love while knowing it's not hers to hold, the pain was so real. And in the end when they realized how much they love each other, the sacrifices they were willing to make for one another left me speechless. Such love exists. Mew spent all her youth loving and dreaming about Mark and now her dream is no longer just a fantasy, it's coming true.

Overall, this lakorn has showed me love and even though the beginning didn't start off so well, I did love the second half of the lakorn a lot.

schizophrenic roller coaster - but WOW what a ride

Watching this felt like getting to know someone going through an identity crisis. At its foundational level, this is a romance with some comedic elements. But over the course of the drama the surface elements and the tropes shifted multiple times. I felt like I was getting whiplash as everything kept changing.

1 - melodrama with criminal element [FL's school crush, the gangster's wife abuse, the murder attempt, the forced wedding and cohabitation]
2 - industrial espionage [corporate takeover places ML & FL in same workplace with him as supervisor, a bidding war for a project and multiple hacking incidents]
3 - melodrama in another country with criminal element and workplace context [Burmese building project, gangster's revenge, the legal wife seeking romantic moments with her husband before their separation, ML late revelation that he loves FL then taking a bullet for her]
4 - medical melodrama [disappearance, hidden pregnancy, ML pursuit of FL to prove love, pre-eclampsia, kidney failure and transplant]
5 - happily ever after

So you're probably wondering why I kept watching if this was so inconsistent. There are a few reasons, but the strongest is the chemistry between the leads and serious affinity/admiration/pity for the FL. Frankly it was fun to watch. The ML's best friends were a sort of bumbling three stooges who occasionally showed a tender side but mostly kept me laughing. The 2ML was a good man who created tension but didn't overstep. He honored the FL's wishes even when it saddened him. And the side romances were exactly that--not overwhelming the central relationship but fun to watch.

At a time when I've been oddly disaffected by a lot of recent dramas, I blazed through this one. It kept my attention, made me laugh and piqued my curiosity to find out what would happen next. After thinking the FL was something of a masochist, I began to admire her audacity. And at the moment when she could have "had her man," she showed the most maturity. She gently distinguished between his selfish "love" that didn't truly know her and her love for him. She pointed out the imbalance and refused to capitulate for an uneven relationship that left her constantly doing whatever he wanted. There was some genuine exploration of what it means to love someone.

I didn't mind the craziness of this drama, in fact I liked it. Beyond the usual disgust with assault and rape (attempted or referenced) in lakorns, I only had 2 minor annoyances at the end. 1st: after the transplant operation, they deliberately and coyly made it appear that the ML died with references to a cremation and not showing him at all. 2nd: the ML confessing that he had a crush on the FL in school. It just didn't feel viable at all. I love moments that show multiple perspectives and misunderstandings but I had a lot of trouble swallowing this one. For a guy so direct, popular and aggressive, hiding a crush felt very antithetical.

Just let me emphasize, these were minor annoyances in an improbably delightful and engrossing drama that is well worth watching.

BEST CHEMISTRY!

So I've been meaning to write a review about this lakorn after watching it in livestream, patiently waited for the released of subbed version and re-watching it for the nth time.

All of us has different views on how to like a drama and for me this lakorn has the substance I am looking for. I am a fan of arranged marriage genre so that's what caught my attention, secret office romance set-up is a plus-plus too and the background which is construction is kind of refreshing and personally I can relate since I am on the same field. But since I re-watched it for l don't know how many times already, I will try to be objective and not bias.
This may include spoilers, so read it at your own risks…

STORY - Plot is from the novel, so if you read the book before watching the lakorn you will have the glimpse of the story except for the ending which is very different.

I will categorize the drama in 5 parts. First part (Ep1-3) has so much comedy, focus on Moie’s unrequited love over Tien. I really laugh on her daydreaming and wild imaginations. Second part (ep4-6) focus on Moie’s true personality. Since Tien knows her as clumsy and naïve girl but turned out she’s very smart. Third part (ep7-9) is the turning point of the drama. Tien finally realized Moie’s true personality, she is smarter than him and his pride can’t accept that. Specifically, Ep9 is my favorite episode maybe the climax of the drama too. It is also when they went to the temples. Fourth part (Ep10-12) is where the romance begins. The sweet romantic moments and the poetries are in this part. And so the chasing and the jealousy (Tien always threw his shirt when he’s jealous). Last part (Ep13-15), very dramatic and tragic and a bit rush. Revelations of what truly happens.

What I like about this drama? 1st is the overflowing chemistry of the leads, Mark (Tien) & Mew (Moie). All the sweet moments of them together even in the early episodes is like a breath of fresh air especially during these times. The funny scenes and comedies are really laughable. All the poetries, which is hardly seen in some of dramas has a very deep meaning so you have to read them carefully. The beauty of Myanmar temples and other sceneries is a thumbs up. The comedy and humors specifically Moie's daydreaming are really laughable. Mark and Mews acting are so realistic that they successfully bring out Tien and Moie's character to life as how they've been explained in the novel. Mark’s portrayal of Tien is on the next level. He’s character in the novel was very rude. But in the drama Mark’s gaze and smile made it more humane. Like he acts cruel and speaks harsh but his eyes and smile are telling you other things, that he still cares and you have to read him well. Mew also did well. I always have the same emotions with her while watching the drama. I laugh with her and cry with her. Tien’s family is also very likable especially Aunt Jee. Tien’s friend (The Gang) are very funny. Moie’s friend is so-so for me except Thoom.

What I dislike about this drama? (Honestly a lot, I have a lot of complains but I still love it) The editing is poor, you will see a lot of loopholes and inconsistencies the more you rewatched them. Even the timeline is not accurate. Flashbacks sometimes eat most of the time and keep on reusing the same clips. I get it that they need to show the flashback but they can be particular on which scene or line they should use. Some good scenes which you can see in the BTS are also left out and sometimes it will take a big part in the story. Like you can’t connect the previous scene to the next scene and wander what the heck happened or did I miss something? Hidden stories are not properly used like why did they put it there if they will not use it eventually when the leads found out what really happened. Side stories eat some time that should be given to the leads story. Don’t get me wrong, I am not against the LGBT community, but I don’t like the story of Kaofang and Kang. Those screen time should’ve been given to their married life after they reconcile. Also, the domestic abuse of Pondayt to Yada is overly shown.

OST is very good especially My Happiness of Mon Monik & Fongbeer and Mark’s version of Pahn.

Overall, this lakorn is my favorite drama. I can’t seem to find a new drama who will fill in my spare time so I just keep on re-watching it. I became a fan of Mark and Mew because of this. My first time on watching them. I am hoping they can be paired up again. All the flaws and inconsistencies have been filled by Mark and Mew’s great chemistry so at first watch you will not recognized those imperfections.

What I learned about watching this lakorn is that Love has no boundaries (sounds cliché but true) and Moie and Tien successfully showed this kind of love

This is a nice drama that had the potential to be great but the usual lakorn clichés made it unbearable at moments. The leading couple had great acting moments but their chemistry on the romantic scenes lacked chemistry and their love story was incongruent. Although Moei was always in love with Tien and did everything possible to make him fall in love with her, once she succeeds, she becomes insecure and basically forces him to leave her to, later on, blame him for disappearing from her life. After their love for each other is ratified, the story becomes draggy and the male lead became a beggar for love. The last three episodes were full of unnecessary clichés. The story ends well but it lost momentum towards the end.
