What can I say but wow?
Fortuna's eye is the perfect mix between thriller and romance, meshing together to make an incredibly unique and moving movie. The acting was superb, and the script really packed a punch, to the point that'd I'd recommend this to anyone even if they weren't into romance.A few things stuck to me with this movie that I greatly appreciated. One was how Shinichiro approached his ability, and the struggles he faced with knowing a person's future. The movie does not shy away from the difficulty one would go through if they could see when people were going to die and explores it in quite a bit of detail.
Two, the romance was incredibly well done. I admit that I am not a fan of romance, I find the genre to be full of really unhealthy and/or incredibly unrealistic. However Shinichiro and Aoi's relationship was really well done and added quite a bit to the story. It took an interesting premise and pushes it further, as Shinichiro sees Aoi start to fade.
Third, the ending. Now maybe I haven't watched enough Japanese movies but it caught me by surprise and was really moving. I would have cried my eyes out if I could! (Unfortunately a big earthquake happened during the movie so I was still full of adrenaline when the credits started rolling.)
All of this made for an excellent movie that I highly recommend watching!
The icing on the cake was Jun's acting - while he only plays a side character in the movie, he was absolutely phenomenal and I'm glad to see him get more and more roles.

We make 9000 choices a day. I was impressed.
I knew the ending of the movie and I didn't like fantasy stories so much, but I couldn't stop watching because I was worried about the continuation. The hero who saved many lives in exchange for his own life without being thanked by anyone. We make 9000 choices a day. I was impressed.Cet avis était-il utile?
Acting 10/10 from the main and supporting characters. It was great! Whoever casted the actors knew them well and that they would be amazing as their characters. Shison Jun's surprised me the most because I haven't seen him play this kind of character. And I've always impressed by Arimura Kasumi's and Kamiki Ryunosuke's acting. They were very convincing even if some moments felt rushed.
Music was good too. Im giving it a 9 because it heightened my emotions especially at the end. A lot or all of the lyrics were in English which I found distracting at first but it was so sweet and matched the tone fine.

Dis is a tale of a young man who knows when people are going to die
If u had the ability 2 see people’s fate, 2 know wen they were about 2 die, would you tell them? Even if it jeopardised ur own life? Dis is the quandary at @ de heart of Fortuna’s Eye, Takahiro Miki’s misty-eyed adaptation of Naoki Hyakuta’s bestselling novel. Kasumi Arimura, Ryunosuke Kamiki play star-crossed lovers in this fantasy romance weepie...As the plot unfolds, it turns out as predictable as it is tedious... But I guess I'm at that point where I saw so many tearjerkers that any mediocre attempt to move me won't budge me at all.

I decided to watch this movie for Shison Jun who played one of the supporting parts but I fell in love with Kamiki Ryunosuke's Shin and Arimura Kasumi's Aoi. Their love story was so beautiful - and in the end so very heartbreaking. The main hero, Shin, can see people's fate. Those who are about to die he sees as transparent, splotchy, as if they are already not there. It bothers him but he's convinced that fate can't be changed and so he doesn't even try to do anything about it. Until he meets Aoi. When he sees her turn transparent, he decide to try to change the fate after all. And he succeeds. But he learns that saving people comes with a terrible price for himself.
The last third of the movie, I pretty much bawled through, it was so sad. And yet so incredibly beautiful. You pretty much know how the movie must end, it's inevitable, Shin's fate is inevitable. And even knowing that, you root for him. Because once he realizes what he has to do, he makes peace with the inevitable and he sets out to do what is necessary.
What floored me was the twist with Aoi at the very end. That I didn't expect at all and when all the important scenes were shown from her perspective, I was honestly left gaping. Wow. So heartbreaking!

OKAY!
I found the movie to be okay, not particularly good or bad. The acting by the actors and actresses wasn't particularly impressive, but the cinematography was good. However, the story of the movie was quite good. If the director and the production team wanted, they could have made the movie even better. Nonetheless, the director did try his best, perhaps.
I have seen various types of fantasy, tragedy, and romantic movies, and the story of each movie was different. However, there were some very common elements in the movie such as the character who tries to harm the main character but ends up making the main character look great. I won't say much more as I don't want to spoil it for anyone (if I reveal spoilers, people may get angry with me).
In conclusion, if you need to watch a movie to kill some time, then you can watch this one.

They presented the whole story brilliantly, with the start being all mysterious and freaky and, in the end, everything came together and they explained the fantasy element and the other character's views. The fantasy element, moreover, was handled pretty well and the CGI were well made. The performances were good too. Finally, the ending was unexpected and interesting. However, I did found the final conclusion didn't do justice to the leading lady's characters and, even though they gave us a conclusion, that ending was just a bit frustrating.
So, overall, seven out of ten.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]To be honest, I already knew what will happen at the 20th minute, but this movie is really worth to enjoy until the very end. The phrase 'there's always be a price to pay' is totally right. The bigger the matter, the bigger the price.
This movie will show you the true meaning of sacrifice and love. Even though I already predict the ending, but when it really come to an end, still my heart aching and felt empty ヽ( ̄~ ̄ )ノ Especially the scene at the railway o(〒﹏〒)o The one I didn't see it coming is Aoi's condition. At the end of the movie, I finally understand the meaning of sad look on her face when she look at Shinichiro from her apartment window.
I know, I know, I made the spoiler, but don't you worry, the story is still worth to see. I also love to see Shison Jun here although he's just a support role (^_^) His growth of personality shown clearly and I really happy that in the end he's no longer a villain (^_^)
