Hanagatami (2017)

Both movies are about a teenager male lead coming of age (and incestuous falling in love one with his sick cousin and another with his mother) during the Second War World or the Pacific War.

Both narratives are surrealistic, dreamy and non linear.

They also share strange aesthetics.

By the same director, both films thematise dark and twisting journey through the history of warfare in Japan. They even share stylistic aspects.
