Incredible. Bestest one I have ever come across. Every second was worth it!

I didn't really know much about it and this drama was just a wild guess, I made. Believe me, this drama played with every inch of emotion I had. LEE JUNHO and JIN A were absolutely amazing. I cried buckets and buckets, even tho I am not a who cries. Junho is now my absolute favourite. Nothing was overboard and everything was just perfectly balanced. The main lead was just so immersed into the role that I started believing that everything was real. To a point where I literally googled if it was a fiction or not. JUST WATCH IT ONCE and you'll start stanning him too. I BET. <3

Just between lovers is an excellent drama, with a lot of emotions. It played completely my heart by showing the tragic events of our protagonist and their connection to the other characters as well. They have approached the love in a realistic manner where a kind of relationship you will fall for. It was delicate where two people grow individually and together.

The storyline hit me for sure, feeling all sorts of sentiments. The cinematography was beautifully combined with alluring OST.

Character-wise, it was deeply developed, never leave any small details to emphasize the intent. There weren’t really any “good or bad” characters. They just simply describe kinds of people struggling with life and their fears and that what makes the story more compelling.

Acting-wise, for both relatively amateur, it was beyond expectation. Their chemistry also was perfect, they just totally killed it emphasizing their vulnerability and sincerity.

A must watch drama, a real melodrama actually. I cried but ended up incredibly in love.

Why did I love this drama? Just because. There are no reasons I didn't love this drama. To paraphrase a moment in the script.

This is a story about coping with some of the worst situations and emotions, PTSD, survivors guilt, loss of a child, responsibility guilt to name a few.

When a shopping centre collapses killing 48 people and injuring more, everyone involved has to find a way to deal with their own personal reactions to what happened. 10 years after the collapse, there is a new building going up on the site and old wounds are re opened.

Let's just be clear, this is not a story filled with fluffy moments and joy, I would not recommend this to someone who is having their own troubles particularly, while seeing others work through them may be helpful it could simply add to your pain.

This drama is beautifully written and amazingly acted, some of the scenes in particular are so hard to watch because of the amazing talents of the cast bearing their soul for all. Seeing moon soo break down following a shock or gang doo yelling in frustration to god in the middle of a crowded area are just two, without context they are hard to grasp but suffice to say they stick with you.

This is a hard story, but it is one that brings with it a message of hope, and a warning that wounds whether in the mind or body should not be ignored, they should be treated and recovered from in what ever form that takes.

Picked this one following repeated recommendation from other MDL readers and not disappointed, thanks to you all.

Soundtrack has one stand out for me called Where We, which has borrowed the chord progressions from the Mad World remake by Gary Jules, originally by Tears for Fears. Used well they capture the melancholy feeling of the moments nicely.

Location is a bit different too, most kdrama I have seen tend to be Seoul based, this one appears to be Busan based with some lovely shots of the local bridges and architecture as well as amazing shots from rooftops over the night skyline of the city.

I've marked it low on the rewatch list, I may revise that, it's purely because it's hard and I dont know if I'd want to watch it again, I usually watch the fluffy ones more on repeat than stories like this, but it is one that, if you are in the right mental state to watch it, you absolutely must.

Just between lovers is a misleading title for this drama, since its has nothing to do with lovers. This drama is more about finding healing from the past. the two male leads do fall in love after awhile and the past start to fall in place. The story line was excellent and very entertaining. Each episode continue the story line correctly without jumping to fast as to leave you wondering, like what happen. The cast did a great job and the music was very nice as well. However it would have nice if more romance was added to the to story , nonetheless the ending was good .

Outstanding drama

Oh boy, I have finished watching this drama for the third time, but still crying a whole lot while knowing how the plot goes.

I love romantic progress between Jinah and Junho. Their chemistry *chef's kiss*. I love reading their eyes. They don't need script to depict how sad they are. Their eyes tell everything.

I love everything about this drama, from the actors to the plot and the ost too, everything falls perfectly and sums up pretty well.

This is one of the drama that I wanna keep rewatching over and over again.

It would've been a 9/10 for me but I fast forwarded A LOT of, what I like to call, "empty space." It's when there's 2-4 minutes of silent pontification, a flashback of what literally JUST happened, or the same, re-occurring flashback.

The empty space didn't take away from the story.

Oh yeah: this is truly a narrative. There aren't apprehensive, what-if, tense moments of wonder. It's a straight-to-the-point drama that revolves around the subject of loss. It's ostensibly tragic and a very grounding experience. It's a dramatic story but stays away from being a melodrama.

I'm an emotional creature and had to deliberately try not to cry. The main girl got on my nerves sometimes, but just a little bit.

Lastly, the lessons in this story are truly humbling.

One of the worse dramas attempting to mirror grief.

I'll try to keep it short. The drama tries its best to tackle grief and show how different individuals overcome and experience hardship. The problem is that it simply isn't realistic. The coping doesn't involve professional help, but rather toxic traits that include pill-popping, destroying lives around you to feel better, and being stuck in a time loop of self-destruction. Now, many of these things can be real for us, but the show does little to really address problems head-on. People don't give full answers, there is little context to justify the pain sometimes and the approaches to cope are never healthy.

The first 6 episodes are actually very well done. There is little drama, the cringing is kept to a minimum, and every character shows promise. Then, with little context or reasoning, it just goes bonkers and many characters attempt to destroy their own lives. In one episode, the male lead experiences ghosts of the dead and voices in his head. This isn't grieving, it's a mental disorder and borderline schizophrenic. The crazy part is that this is never addressed again in any other episode, nor do we see those ghosts again. If you're having trouble understanding me writing that, imagine watching the show.

Overall, your time would be much better spent watching virtually any other drama.

Let alone the K-drama category, Just Between Lovers is one of the best dramas I've watched in such a long time! This does not fit the type in which K-Dramas are made.

Kang Doo and Moon Soo come as strong leads, always being by each other's side, supporting each other and bringing out the best of each other. They are the ultimate relationship goal for me. Simply because, they are mature and wise. They talk about things that worry them, instead of creating misunderstandings and heartbreaks. They don't try to get the other person jealous for stupid reasons. They understand each other. They give each other space.

What I loved the most was even with the hint of a love triangle, they didn't go too much into it. I HATE triangles. Here, what I liked was that no false hopes were given and the triangle was broken as soon as it got made.

Now onto characters :

What I love in Moon Soo is that she isn't like the normal female leads. She doesn't get jealous, doesn't create unnecessary drama and isn't a damsel in distress. Rather, she's strong, opinionated and support for so many characters in the drama!

Special shoutout out to the Grandma! Her, Sang Man, and Kang Doo! Always look out for their dialogues if you watch this drama. They'd teach you so much about life with their simple sentences, it's crazy!

Another good point is that no character is angel and none is the devil. Everyone has their set of negative and positive points. And, I really loved that cuz that made them more human.

Also, this drama isn't for you if you like fluffs. However, if you like to see a relationship where feelings feel real, monologues that pierce through your heart, and characters you can see yourself in, give Just Between Lovers a try.

But, warning, it's angst. You'd keep on crying till the last episode. So keep the tissues near!

I wanna write more but it's almost 2K words lmao! (Also, not grammar checking it,so forgive the mistakes)

He did it again!

Lee Junho, this actor, OMG, now has me trying to watch all his dramas and everything else he does. Man, he played the part wholeheartedly. What an awesome actor he is. Had me crying! The storyline was incredible to see. The screenwriters got this one right. I applaud them! Won Jin Ah played her part of HanMan Soo ( I love that name). For both main leads to play the part in a tragedy and how they lived through it was like me watching the news in real-time. What an incredible story! This story had to be told by the other main leads and support actors and actresses. The visuals look so real, I love the town. In real-time, this happened in the United States, didn't involve architecture but a bombing. I am so glad they brought awareness to organ transplants. Thank you so much for this storyline.

Beautiful, underrated drama

This drama is one of the toughest and most beautiful ones I have watched.
It revolves around love, not just about a couple, but about love in general. Family, friends, people you meet in the street, your coworkers, neighbours...
This drama is about survival, humanity, reconstruction, forgiveness but also simply about living.
The beautiful acting, delicate feelings expressed throughout the details and the writing, everything about this drama is well done.

The relationships between all the main characters made my heart weep. Every episode was a confusing mix of joy and sorrow for me, like an event that hurts everything in you but that you cannot stop watching.

I will not watch it again because my heart won't be able to bear it, but please do take a minute to stop by this drama. It will make you love life, it will make you rejoice in the things you have, no matter how small.
