Critiques
Total run-time: approx. 80 minutes. I saw it on YouTube, it was choppy and low rez, English subbed.
STORY: The story was somewhat interesting but also somewhat disjointed and confusing. There seemed to be big leaps from one part of the plot to another and I had trouble following. I was never really sure why something was happening. I could be just me not understanding Chinese mythology. I wouldn't say the ending was sad, it wasn't happy either. Nobody dies, so that's a good thing.
ACTING/CAST: The roles seemed to have been played well but I felt some of the acting was a bit wooden. They did cast a number of pretty people for this.
MUSIC: Nothing memorable.
REWATCH VALUE: Meh, saw it, know how it ends, why see it again? Moving on.
OVERALL: This reminded me a lot of 80s American Fantasy, something like Highlander. Immortal (but not really) beings in the human realm doing stuff. Some of the effects seemed the same, kinda cheesy. The BL part of the story was almost nothing more than a footnote.
TL;DR: Watch the series "My Roommate Is a Fairy Fox" instead. It's better.
