Tips from a french woman living in France

If you go around without answering back « bonjour » to people who say it to you, they'll never say it again and will give you an icy cold shoulder. Basically, say « bonjour » to employees as soon as you enter any kind of shop. Don't forget the bus driver. But you don't need to say it to people on the road if you're in a big city. Be warned that you do have to say it if you're in a village where basically everyone know each other. We consider it very rude if you don't say « bonjour » or at least make some head acknowledgement. This is probably the main reason behind the stereotype of us being rude.The rest of the parisian depiction is quite truthfull for now, though I don't know about how customs (douanes) actually work. Oh, and this ending is hilarious.
