Han Joon Oh is a leading South Korean celebrity. He is stunningly good-looking and tall but is secretly plagued by an inferiority complex that leaves him permanently insecure. One day, he is hired to appear in a public service video. But the shoot goes horribly wrong, and Han Joon Oh is involved in a potentially fatal car collision. He is only saved by the quick thinking of a female firefighter named Kang Young Hwa, who pulls off a heroic rescue.

Han Joon Oh’s representatives hire Kang Young Hwa to work as the star’s personal bodyguard, recognizing her incredible talents. But when Han Joon Oh awakes from his stupor in the hospital, he has changed completely – as his body has now been possessed by the spirit of a nobleman from ancient Korea. This nobleman, named Do Ha, was killed by his beloved wife Han Ri Ta – and the vengeful spirit is on a single-minded quest for retribution…

The Rise of Phoenixes made me think of Moon Lovers Scarlet Heart Ryeo. Both stories are about a prince who is abandoned by his imperial father, and mother. Both princes are used to fighting and murdering since their childhood. They have to compete with ambitious siblings in the struggle for the throne. Both are emotionally scarred by family issues, but super smart in plotting and survival. As for the love interests in both series, those girls are both too nice for their own good.

When i started watching Moon in the day i got a familiar feeling. I find it similar to MLSHR as they both have a cold male lead. In both drama the viewers are confused if the male lead is good or bad. Good or bad in a perspective towards the FL. They both have happy and cheerful characters besides the ML. The poster and name both are similar as well. Well this is still ongoing so i dont know how it turns out but MLSHR's story build up is really good.

Similar storyline where the FL travels back in time through an accident from the modern period to the past and found herself entangled between guys who sought after her. However, in Oh! My Emperor, the FL knows the ML before this happened.

In comparison, Oh! My Emperor is lighter and has more fantasy and magical elements than Scarlet Heart Ryeo, which is heavier and a lot more serious and political.

Both loosely based on true historical events with creative license to history.

Good cast, cinematography and story.

In both FL knows about the future (fate of the ML) and trying to change the course.

ML and FL have great chemistry and a good love story. Both have love triangles.

Both have tragic ends, but it's worth the watch.

Both take place in Goryeo and have a love story. Hong Jong Hyun plays a main charater in both. In SHR, he plays an evil brother plotting to take the throne. TKL, he plays Crown Prince's best friend. The locations in both shows are extremely beautiful. Lee Joon Gi and Siwan's characters fall in love with the female leads who care for them. Lee Ji Eun (IU) and Yoona's characters go through many hardships.

Both Female Leads are always protected and loved by more than 1 male character. They are both talented in the arts.

Both Male leads are often recognized as scary individuals and will go through a deep character development once they meet the female lead.

Both deals with family issues (evil relatives trying to steal the thrown and kill their family members) and has a forbidden love concept (Romeo & Juliet vibe).

It seems both dramas represent same period in history. Also, never ending throne war is a common point. My Country gives me same vibes as Scarlet Heart Ryeo.

Both are historical dramas. Both have very intense romances between the leads. Both are tragic dramas. Highly recommend both, as long as you're prepared for the tears.

During the Joseon Dynasty, a young woman named Hong Chun Ki is a painter – a true rarity in Joseon Korea, where Confucian values dictate that such pursuits are unsuitable for a woman. She was born blind but somehow managed to acquire a sense of vision. And now she has been accepted to the most prestigious art college in the land. One day, she meets Ha Ram, an astrologer whose fate is the polar opposite of her own: Although he was born sighted, he lost his vision in a childhood accident. Regardless, he is also in possession of an astounding talent that allows him to read the future by tracing the movement of the sky at night despite the fact that he is blind. The duo is sucked into the machinations of the royal court, particularly those involving two princes, the free-spirited Prince Yang Myung and the cruel, scheming Prince Joo Hyang – a man who longs to become the next Joseon king.

Both are period dramas with a palace backdrop and lots of political backstabbing.
In both cases, the FL has many suitors

The ML is a tad toxic and a manipulative bastard. Both feature a good amount of wrist grabbing and semi forced kissing

The FL comes from the future (distant or not so distant ) and uses that knowledge to survive

brothers fighting each other to become the next Crown Prince...
male leads falling for the "odd yet charming" female lead...
Wang So in both dramas are excellent fighters and were raised apart from the rest of the "family"...

Its another version of Bu Bu Jing Xin which was produced earlier than Scarlet Heart Ryeo. It was a movie shortened compared to the C-drama or K-Drama.
