The premise of identical twins separated is not new to KDramaland; however, this story is quite different as it was a twist of fate that separated them and the lives they lead was totally different. The acting by Uhm Tae Woong was excellent. It was believable as it acted as both twins that were so different; night and day. The revenge was sadden at the fact that the brothers had so little time together. The love story was not as important because the main characters were in love from the very beginning. I really enjoyed this. It had its slow moments but I enjoyed watching each of the players responsible for the deaths to get their comeuppance. Is it worth watching? Only if this type of genre is your cup of tea. As I love suspense, crime stories; I recommend this highly.

This is definitely the kind of drama that I like. There is murder, attempted murder, lies, betrayal, lost family members, love and hate, etc. All the great makings of a melodrama.

I will admit that at times this drama is a little slow, but it is a build up to what happens next. I like the ebb and flow as the main character takes sweet revenge. I'm usually really good at figuring things out, but this had a twist that I didn't see coming. The ending is a little sad, but it is acceptable. Anyone that had been through what the main character, Yoo Shin Hyuk/Yoo Gang Hyuk/Seo Ha Eun had been through would need some time to deal with emotions. This drama is a roller coaster of emotions for the viewer so I think that everyone can sympathize with his character.

Uhm Tae Woong plays Yoo Shin Hyuk/Yoo Gang Hyuk/Seo Ha Eun to perfection. You can totally tell the difference between the twins. I'm kinda surprised people didn't figure it out right away. I love his facial expressions. He is one of those actors that tells a story with his face. If you liked him in this, then you should watch The Devil and The Equator Man. Both awesome dramas. I also loved Han Ji Min's character Seo Eun Ha. Now this is a woman that I can like. She never waivers even while believing her love is dead and being pursued by another man. She cries when it is appropriate, but not a weepy character. She is strong and does everything she can to help Ha Eun. I liked her in Padam Padam and Cain and Abel where she plays similar strong roles. I think the other actors do really great also. Kim Gyu Chul as Choi Dong Chan is really good at being bad. He is in several other dramas where he plays a total ass and he is good at it.

The music is appropriate although sometimes I did wonder why they were playing certain music in the background.

I probably won't rewatch it, because I already know how it ends, but it is rewatchable.

I really think if you love melodramas that you will like this one.

This is a very good drama of its genre. If you are a suspense/thriller/revenge drama fan, then you will certainly like this one.
This drama deals with the normal kdrama cliches of lost children, parents being killed and then sons taking revenge, but for some reason I found it interesting and addicting.
There is a love story but it starts off in the begining and everyone stays firm with their emotions, the love triangle (yes ofcourse there is one here too) is there but its not too dominating and annoying.
The acting is very good, especially UTW is simply great as always. The leading lady was good too, but for some reason the sad watery eyed look doesnt appeal to me too much, so I found her miserable state a bit annoying (although it was appropriate according to the script, so I guess its not her fault) I would have been happier if she was shown a bit happy at times too, she had the same look through out. I like the second lead girl much better.
Now the negative point was that the drama was really really slow moving. I dont know why they have 24 episodes of a good drama, when it can be a great drama at 16.

Wow did this take me a long time to finish...

Story: A typical revenge themed drama with a bit of romance thrown in there. The plot was very good in the beginning, dragged in the middle, and got good again by the third part. The pacing of each episode was okay but as a whole the drama felt way too long and it could have been so much more enjoyable if it was only 16-18 eps. I liked the ending because it was kind of open ended but you knew where everything was headed.

Acting/Cast: Uhm Tae Woong and Han Ji Min were amazing as usual but I loved their chemistry as well. I enjoyed the supporting characters and all the actors played their parts well. The drama however, could have did without Go Joo Won or even his character. His acting was bland and it made his character not charming or sympathetic.

Music: Overplayed but fit.

Rewatch: I liked most of the characters a lot that I might one day in the far away future sit through this again. Wish the drama was shorter though!

Final Thoughts: Revenge could have been a lot more exciting within the plot and tighter with a shorter episode count but its worth watching at least once if you like the main actors and revenge themed dramas.

I'm Never Gonna Die Again

A frankly disappointing and confusing drama, ‘Resurrection’ has the ambition of putting so much -too-much- meat on the fire in the plot, ending up giving an exaggeratedly complex and extremely confusing story; and it's a pity, because the basic assumption, on one of my favourite cinematographic themes, that of the double (but let's not bother Dostoevsky, of course! ), could and should have been exploited much better, instead being reduced to an accumulation of clichés and stereotypes that irregiment the story in a classic makjang scheme that is not even that engaging.

The beginning is chaotic, to say the least, with the introduction of so many characters that it is hard to sort out the narrative patterns and the peculiar aspects of the actors on stage; evidently the authors must have realised this too, because at the beginning of the fifth episode, a providential summary of the previous episodes comes to our rescue, clarifying most of the tortuous plot, but beware! we will find ourselves with at least a dozen or more characters involved in what, up to that moment, has turned out to be a barely comprehensible affair...

Trying to sum up, more or less:
A policeman, his vice-presidential twin, the former's fiancée and the latter's almost-wife, aspiring journalist, a senator (father of the journalist but not only ... ) and another business executive (with his rather useless son), and their henchman/gangster, the twin vice-president's family - mother of the twins, stepfather and younger sister - and the policeman's adoptive father, several killers, dead or providentially brought out in the process, just to make even more of a mess, wives or ex-wives, real and alleged crooks, nosy journalists and even several policemen...

At this point, the story, so to speak, tries to stabilise itself for several episodes, which obviously, with the dramatic change of identity of the main character, have an easier time creating the right tension, relying on the gimmicks of the policeman who has to pass himself off as the twin vice-president of the company.

Nothing particularly memorable or innovative, it must be said; the ‘sentimental’ side is much more interesting, with the interchange between the two women in love who develop more than one doubt about the twin's identity, rather than the family aspect, with the anguish and turmoil of the protagonist's mother, which would have deserved more in-depth analysis; but we are nevertheless in the ordinary, the minimum acceptable:
It is the usual theme of revenge for a crime twenty years earlier that will uncover the classic Pandora's box, with a twist, largely phoned in and out of time, and that will take no prisoners...

But then, irreparably, the plot wraps up again, adding more characters to the story and rekindling confusion about it, as well as attempting to unravel it through the contrivance of some object/fetish such as the gaming dices or the bracelet

We are again in a total mess, with tired repetitions of protracted situations (the investigations of the would-be journalist, for instance), daring parental entanglements of the ‘that's the son of that other guy from an extramarital affair’ kind, searches for relatives, corrupt and then repentant cops, and others in a coma, as well as murderous killers who pop up out of nowhere (like the too-often-quoted Park Sangcheol).

It proceeds towards the finale with a sense of weariness and heaviness, a final episode in which we move from an anthology-like incipit of the ridiculous, with an explanation and related listing of names that would need another summary, an explanation so lengthy between the players that it verges on ludicrousness, to a hasty use of cinematic off-screen, hopelessly rushed in closing the stories of some characters who had been crucial up to that point.

Absolutely inexplicable the epilogue after the usual time jump (‘one year later’), ‘Resurrection’ leaves a sense of utter unfinishiness, despite the amount of material at hand, it is saved by some good performances, such as Uhm Tae Woong of course, in the double (or rather triple) part of Seo Ha Eun / Yoo Gang Hyuk / Yoo Shin Hyuk, as well as the beautiful Han Ji Min in the painful role of Seo Eun Ha, as well as Kim Gab Soo, in the role of Senator Lee Tae Jun, father of the journalist;
Kim Kyu-chul's grimacing in the part of Choi Dong Chan is frankly unbearable, while the final question that will remain unanswered is:
What happened to Seo Jae Su, Eun Ha's father and adoptive father of policeman Ha Eun, who at one point in the story simply disappears from the drama!?

Very Good!

Actually great revenge drama! I was expecting an entirely different plot with the twins but the root it took was fine as well. Great characters, banger OST and does what a revenge drama needs to do. The first half was great but the second half was too slow until the last couple of episodes. The ending needed to be tighter, things were all over the placed and disorganized. Maybe they bit more than they could chew for how much they crammed the last 2 episodes. It's better than "Lucifer" and "Shark" that's for sure. The drama had the chance to be a certified classic but it needs a lot of fixing and clean up.
