Pastoral: To Die in the Country (1974)

Both movies are about a teenager male lead coming of age (and incestuous falling in love one with his sick cousin and another with his mother) during the Second War World or the Pacific War.

Both narratives are surrealistic, dreamy and non linear.

They also share strange aesthetics.

A young boys' coming of age tale set in a strange, carnivalesque village becomes the recreation of a memory that the director has twenty years later.
