Four Stars

Lots of painful drama and hurt. I hate that Kei is hurting Yui so much after she gave up a lot to be with him, but I also get following your dream. This episode probably showcases what it would be like if a normal, average person were involved with a celebrity and how difficult that life would eventually become. There would be a lot of suffering.

Things are turning around for Kei! I love that we get to see so much of Kame's focus in this episode. I suspect this is what he looks like when rehearsing for anything. I admire that dedication to his work. And Yui continues to grow stronger. But I sense problems on the rise which thankfully shouldn't last too long since there's only 3 episodes left in the series! Yay!

More incredible dance moves from Kame. It's such an insult for the German dance guy to ask Kame's character Kei to be an interpreter. I can't even imagine how that would feel, so degrading. Yui's mother needs to get a job and support herself. But at least she actually stood up to her mom which is somewhat rare in J-dramas, I find. So I was super proud of Yui for taking steps at making her own life. I've also learned that groups of teenage girls at an all-girl school can be incredibly cruel creatures. Wow, just wow.

I appreciate how both of the leads desperately need each other. He gains some sort of inner motivation and strength from her; in other words, she's his muse. So it's neat seeing the energy and enthusiasm he exhibits when he thinks of her. And for her, he offers a different path than the one she's currently on. You don't want to be the other woman in a relationship with a married man. For the first time, she's seeing that there are other choices she can make. While I think it's stupid to jump in bed with a guy after having only one conversation with him. in this case, I almost understand why they leaped right into sexual intimacy. It's something tangible that he can hold onto, a physical act that describes how he's feeling, sort of like when he dances, it's a way of expressing the emotions he's having. I just hope that she does what he asks and lets go of the married man. I'm sorry, but, in the grand scheme of things, take a Kame who is single in his twenties over an older, nondescript, married dude. There's no comparison.

Kame

I've never seen him just dance before other than in concerts and MV, so this was a first. He's amazing to watch. And so many pheromones. He just exudes them without even trying. It's also fun watching him eat ramen. I've seen him eat so much ramen in his roles, it's not even funny!

finally chasing down the end!

A good point came up in this episode. Rei and Ken know how to argue with each other. They've done it for years. Rei and Tada-san have never argued. I find that if I'm able to disagree with someone safely then I'm a lot closer to them. I have a good friend who I can argue with and get genuinely mad at and he gets mad at me, but I never worry about him walking away from our friendship. We've known each other for 6 years and I've gotten so seriously steamed at him before, but it's never ruined anything or put our relationship at risk. There's a lot of trust there. I see the same with Rei and Ken, but Rei is not the same person with Tada-san that she is with Ken. She can't be as honest with Tada-san, and she never lets herself be mean or unlovely the way she can with Ken. That's why the relationship with Tada-san can't work, no matter how much I like him. Because he is a good guy, just not right for her. I do find it hilarious how long Ken will wait. I mean, literally, until she's out the door, before chasing after her. I swear he watched her for like two minutes straight before moving!

poor Ken, he just can't win

Rei has a cruel streak that makes her unlovely. She honestly doesn't deserve Ken.And Ken's inability to speak gets old, but he put out more of an effort here, so that's something. He just doesn't get out the words "I love you." Skipping right to "Marry me" without the "I love you" isn't helpful. I just feel so bad for him. He deserves so much better because he is a seriously sweet, quirky guy and she can't see that anymore.I do appreciate that Tada-san isn't a creep. He's also a nice guy and I like him despite myself. I like it when the other romantic possibility doesn't have some hidden creepiness that comes out later to throw them out of the running. Tada's just nice.

Yamapi's black shirt is AMAZING in this episode!

Rei doesn't deserve him, honestly. Just saying anything she wants and not giving him a chance to respond at all. That girl shoots her mouth off something fierce and doesn't even notice his feelings. For all her saying that he never notices anything, she's one to talk. Stupid, idiot girl. Yamapi's scenes were great, especially the ones where he's broken off from the charted course of the memory and does something new. He used a lot of his emotive skill and lots of micro expressions in this episode. I hate that I always cry when Yamapi cries, EVERY TIME! In other news, Yamapi's black shirt is AMAZING in this episode. Love it.

someone please help this crazy man

Kenzo, seriously. Dude. I don't know how one man can try so hard and fail every single time. It's a good thing Yamapi excels at these types of roles or I'd have hated Kenzo by now. As it is, ARGH!

silly

This one was excessively silly. At this point she's supposedly 18, but you would never guess it. Joining a tennis club when she's never played a day in her life. And I feel like she was overacting a bit here, the lip pursing thing is getting annoying, and I would have given up Irie-kun long ago since he's such deliberately hurtful jerk.

Yipes!

Kame was HILARIOUS, up until he scared the ever-livin' daylights out of me! I don't know how he can jump from goofy to murderous in the space of two seconds, but *shivers* he managed it. Great episode, though, and I'm excited to keep watching.
