One thing this novel's adaptation we see that differs from other xianxia dramas is the way they lay out the story. There is no care about following past stories, instead, they take the most unconventional paths. All the complaints we see and hear about other scripts are done in an opposite manner. This will no doubt anger some viewers, but surprise others.Watching the pain our FL goes through and seeing she feels the guilt of being part of the reason one of the most upright character's death was crushing. No one cries and crumbles in grief like Bailu. She totally disregards her beautiful image and "ugly" cries in such a way that I cannot help but feel the painful sadness.

The love line between our young general and little fox is heartfelt and his acknowledgement of her previous relationship and support made me adore this couple next to our leads.

The humor instilled in the drama balances much of the angst and sadness. It's incredibly touching to see Tantai Jin's humanity growing after leaving the dream arc. Reading many posts from angry viewers, but as watchers, we see everything going on while the fictional characters are unaware. It's part of the plot and I'd hoped that it wouldn't affect viewership/ratings, but it seems like there's a lot of antis and toxic fans stirring things up behind closed doors and that influences a lot of the audience as well.

The dance on the boat scene is so memorable. Love the pace and story as it progresses. Hope our leads continue to take up most of the screen time as that's what we're here to see. Everything else pales in comparison.

So very impressed by the costumes, scenes, effects and particularly the acting. Both leads have mastered their expressions and mannerisms that I felt drawn into the story.

Funny to see the different relationships in this drama. Hoping we get to see character growth in the drama though it's lacking in the novel. Either way, I'm loving seeing Bailu and Wang Hedi costar in a modern drama together.

Honestly don't care about Mo Nv or what she supposedly was supposed to bring to this story. All I know is that she caused most of the damage leading our main couple to not have a happy ending after any of their marriages. That, plus, the toxic fanwars going on behind the scenes and the water armies doing their best to steer viewers away from this production. Deng wei's character was not given a chance to flesh out and get us to bond with. Chen Du Ling's character didn't put forth much in terms of acting more than a white lotus, but the damage was enough.

Not quite finished with the dream/immortal arc, but almost there. The tragic loss SJ suffers is beyond what I expected and Bailu portrays the emotions, grief, and anger amazingly.

The scene of our two leads playing in the snow both on screen and behind the scenes were so giving. It just doesn't feel like they're acting. Amazing chemistry.

We almost got a glimpse of what would happen next at the end of Princess Agents with his fall in the water. I love how they introduce unexpected humor into different scenes.

Bailu's natural charm comes out when playing Shu Yi and Didi's Shi Yan is wonderful to see. It's a huge relief to see the story play out like it has even though I've read viewers upset over one thing or another.
