  • The Heirs

    1. The Heirs

    Korean Drama - 2013, 20 episodes

    7.0

Park Shinhye is either one of your favorite actresses or you don't like her. She's the former for me. I honestly didn't like her that much in The Heirs but she introduced me to You're Beautiful, Heartstrings, and Flower Boy Next Door that started my love for Korean dramas.

I also love her performances in Miracle in Cell No. 7, Hyung, and Pinocchio.

  • Heroine Disqualified

    2. Heroine Disqualified

    Japanese Movie - 2015

    9.5

Kento Yamazaki plays a great role in starting my love for Japanese dramas. This is the third j-movie I watched after Aoharu Ride and Enoshima Prism.

[SPOILER FOR HEROINE DISQUALIFIED] Honestly, I couldn't care less about Rita (Kento's character) and was lowkey rooting for Kentaro (Kosuke's character) but when Rita cried in the rain, I cried too.

  • I Hear Your Voice

    3. I Hear Your Voice

    Korean Drama - 2013, 18 episodes

    9.0

Kim So hyun plays the young version of the main lead and I was really moved by her acting. I feel like this is still my favorite acting performance from her.

  • The Negotiation

    4. The Negotiation

    Korean Movie - 2018

    9.0

I've only watched so little of Hyun Bin's movies/dramas but I am always engrossed in his acting.

I knew he was quite a big name before even watching one of his works. I decided to watch this movie when I found out he was starring alongside Park Shin Hye in Memories of Alhambra.

Hyde, Jekyll, Me was a disappointment to me because I've read Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde and I think they ruined the concept, the plot wasn't as engaging either. But I still admired his acting performances there (at least for one of the character he played)

  • To The Beautiful You

    5. To The Beautiful You

    Korean Drama - 2012, 16 episodes

    7.5

Lee Hyunwoo is the first actor who played a character that completely snatched me from the first male lead. Although he hasn't brought the same charms since To the Beautiful You, he was still great in Moorim School

I dropped the Liar and His Lover not because of him but because I've already watched the original Japanese movie and felt that the Korean adaptation was miles away from how great the movie was in portraying the story.

With that, I'm still waiting for him to take his crown in the drama world. He has been doing great in some movies like Secretly, Greatly, The Con Artists, and Northern Limit Line.

  • She Was Pretty

    6. She Was Pretty

    Korean Drama - 2015, 16 episodes

    8.0

Shin Hye Sun! This drama was adorable and Shin Hye Sun was more adorable in her character Han Seol. It's one of those times where you love watching the side character's love interest more than the main couple. And I was craving for more.

I found out she starred in My Golden Life but I wasn't in the mood to watch 52 episodes. Luckily, she earned another main role in Thirty but Seventeen which was my absolute happiness with the addition of Yang Sejong.

But my favorite chracter she played was Yun Shim Deok in The Hymn of Death. She had me crying for days and her elegance in that drama was beautiful.

I feel like casting directors took notice in her elegance because she has showcased it once again in Angel's Last Mission: Love as a ballerina but with the addition of an unlikable personality.

  • Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People Prelude

    7. Rebel: Thief Who Stole the People Prelude

    Korean Special - 2017, 1 episode

    9.0

Shim Hee Sub just absolutely made me fall in love with his character, Hong Gilhyun, in this drama. It's one of my top five or maybe even top 3 dramas. This drama also stars the amazing and adorable Yoon Kyung Sang who I've already met through Pinocchio and Doctors.

Shim Heesub was an unfamiliar face but his delivery of the role is just amazing like he truly belongs in the drama. I'm so excited to watch more dramas starring him in the future. Ive only seen him in guest roles so far.

  • Blue Spring Ride

    8. Blue Spring Ride

    Japanese Movie - 2014

    7.5

Honda Tsubasa became an instant favorite in the first Japanese movie I watched, Ao Haru Ride (Blue Spring Ride). This movie basically opened my love for live action manga/anime adaptations. This made me finish my first manga (the source of this movie). I did not sleep that night and finished every single page.

Because I liked Honda Tsubasa so much, I searched for other movies she starred in which led me to Enoshima Prism (also listed below).

  • Enoshima Prism

    9. Enoshima Prism

    Japanese Movie - 2013

    9.0

There are a lot of reasons why I love this movie. I watched it for Honda Tsubasa but I found two more amazing actors playing lead roles: Nomura Shuhei and Fukushi Sota

The cast is just amazing in this movie. I also met Yoshida You and Yahagi Honoka for the first time in this film. They are wonderful actresses that I hold dear as well.

Since there are a quite a few actors I've listed in this movie, here are some of their works that I really loved:

Nomura Shuhei: Flying Colors, Chihayafuru trilogy

Fukushi Sota: To Each His Own, BLEACH

Yoshida You: Flying Colors , Chugakusei Nikki

    Yahagi Hohoka: Itazura na Kiss

  • Accidentally in Love

    10. Accidentally in Love

    Chinese Drama - 2018, 30 episodes

    8.5

Fiction Guo, the only Chinese actor in this list. Accidentally in Love is one of the first cdramas that I watched after A Love So Beautiful that I really liked.

I didn't really think much of his performance in Accidentally in Love but after trying several cdramas and dropping them again and again, I've come to appreciate his acting more. I am currently watching Growing Pain which led me to putting Fiction Guo in this list. I can't wait to follow his career.
