Favorite K-Drama Romances With HEAs

I am here to admit a confession - I adore love stories. Below lists some of my favorite romances found in k-dramas to date. All of these stories feature memorable characters, loads of chemistry between actors, unique storylines, and happily-ever-afters (HEAs).

Gang Tae and Moon Young have a tumultuous relationship to say the least. She has antisocial personality disorder; he's been the caretaker to his autistic brother his entire life; and they are both running away from traumatic pasts. Their happily ever after is not easy - their journey is painful, angsty, and oh so satisfying. But when they finally connect, it's scorching. They have some of the more steamier and passionate kisses I've seen in a kdrama in a long, long time.

    2. Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha

    Korean Drama - 2021, 16 episodes

If you're looking for an enemies-to-lovers vibe, look no further than Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. Hye Jin and Chief Hong get off on the wrong foot when she moves to his small coastal town. The first half of the season is them getting to know each other. For every foot forward toward friendship - and that elusive "something other" - they take three steps back. And yet, when they have their moments of connection, it's electrifying. By the time these two finally make it toward romance, it's well earned and satisfying. And their endgame is literally fan fiction come to life.

  • I’m Not a Robot

    3. I’m Not a Robot

    Korean Drama - 2017, 32 episodes

    9.5

I'm typically not a fan of the "lying" trope. You know, when a relationship starts with a big lie. And yet, it just works between Min Kyu and Ji Ah in I'm Not A Robot. That's not to say the lying is condoned or acceptable - lots of discussions about the morality of the decisions that come to play as the lies slowly begin to unravel. But through hapstance and hilarity, you come to understand how the lying occurred. Min Kyu and Ji Ah have a genuine connection despite the lie between them, and their reconciliation is hard fought on both sides. When these two finally come to the truth of their relationship, you will get the butterflies. Plus, who can forget that kitchen counter kiss? Not me!

Out of every couple on this list, Dan Oh and "Number 13" (or, Ha Ru as he is come to be know) have the slowest burn romance ever. Even when these two get together, their physical contact is limited to timid kisses and hugs. However, the obstacles they face to be together makes their romantic journey memorable. They are constantly fighting against fate to be together. If you're looking for fun twists on romantic tropes - star crossed lovers! amnesia! love triangles! - don't look further than Extraordinary You.

  • A Business Proposal

If you want a feel good and hilarious office romance between a CEO and his employee, immediately stop what you are doing and check out A Business Proposal.
