I have to be honest: so many female characters in Chinese dramas annoys me. But there are some great females out there.

Yuan Jin Xia is the female detective in “Under the power”. She is playful in private but skilled in her profession despite her young age. She handles her difficult superior Li Yi so effectively with with her wit, abilities and charms that he eventually falls in love with her. She is later able to overcome her past grudges and plans on revenge and moves on with her life.

Zhao Lu Si

As Cheng Shao Shang/Niao Niao in “Love like the Galaxy” Zhao Lu Si shows her entire spectra of talents. Niao Niao have a remarkable character growth and goes from naive but clever girl to confident and capable, even more capable than her future husband. The character is well written and the execution is flawless. Love her!

Zhou Ye

Gu Xiang is the sidekick/adopted sister to Wen Ke Xing in “Word of Honor”. She is a passionate and strong girl that is able to depend on her own abilities. She is willing to do anything for her friends and loved one. When she finally accepts the love from her suitor tragedy strikes.

Cui Shi Yi/Eleven in “One and Only” is maybe the most tragic and stoic female character I’ve ever seen. The bears her and Prince of Nanchen´s destiny silently on her shoulders until she sees no meaning to exist any more. Excellent execution from Bai Lu as always.
