2012 Movies

"As One" is quite a good film. Yes, technically it follows the typical sports film rhetoric; however, it is based on reality. I have watched the film in 2024 and only now I have realised that there is an occasional Unified Korean team. While I was not born or planned by the time that the World Table Tennis Championship in 1991 took place, I was certainly alive during the other sports events. Hence, I have deffo learned something. Due to the Wikipedia team I have actually also learned some stuff about my country. I did not know that there was a Unified German team and I also did not know that Saarland was not always a state in Germany. So, I guess "As One" helped me educate myself in matters exceeding Korean history.
Anyhow, the film was really good and the actors did a great job. If you like sports films or films portraying historical landmarks, I deffo recommend "As One". I don't know whether the Chinese were really this mean or whether the ref was corrupted but I assume it was portrayed this way to make the film a tad bit more dramatic. I didn't mind that, though. Other countries do the same. It's a lovely film about overcoming differences and clashing politics, and reuniting to bring glory and success to both countries. I believe that they have done so quite respectfully.  A well-deserved 8.5/10 (very close to a 9).

Oh, I love and appreciate this film. The characters are fun and complex and their development rewarding. The leads enter each other's lives when they needed it the most, both struggling due to different circumstances. "Love 911" is a film about love (obviously, duh) and healing. Their (mainly Mi Soo) actions are sometimes quite bad but they learn from them and take responsibility. Their romance is not linear and quite fun to watch. 

I have watched the film multiple times, so I guess this is my comfort film. Hence, instead of an 8.5/10, I rate this film a good 9/10. Deffo recommendable! Especially if you like romance or romcom films. Also, firefighters are hot. And the combo firefighter and doctor is deadly :).

It's a fairly mediocre movie. I liked it but I wasn't convinced enough to give a higher rating. The characters were alright but not too special and the same applies to the plot. It's your typical action thriller film that you can watch after work but it is certainly not a masterpiece. As I have stated, it is quite mediocre and I fast-forwarded a lot. Nevertheless, it's deffo a fun watch and I'd recommend this movie if you like such plots/tropes. Just don't expect too much.
