Xuanhuan

Xuanhuan -  means "Mysterious Fantasy". A broad genre of fictional stories which remixes Chinese folklore/mythology with foreign (western) elements & settings. Xuanhuan can have wuxia and xianxia similarities on the surface but would miss any  Daoist elements (the Dao, Yin and Yang, Immortals, the traditional realms etc...) and would have modern elements such as magic, creatures more common in the western stories (ex: elves, fairies etc), time-traveling or a mixture of technology with ancient times and other similar themes.
