Lost its way ...
I'll keep it brief, it's ok to skip this. The chemistry of the leads can't make up for the fact that the plot is a convoluted mess. The premise is very good, however, towards the end this drama becomes a mess. The acting was great, chemistry is fire but the storytelling was actually painful. Save yourself the time and skip out on this.Cet avis était-il utile?

TBH I wasn't sure how I would feel about Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin being paired together. They are both some of my favorite K-actors, but she looks like a child next to him in more than one scene of the show. Their chemistry, though, was off the charts. And those kisses🔥🔥🔥. NGL I almost died. But Chae Soo Bin always has 🔥🔥🔥🔥kisses. That being said even though Chae Soo Bin is one of my favorite actresses, it felt weird seeing her portraying such a meek character. She had inner strength, but there was so much of a damsel in distress vibe to Hui Ju. And the blank, doe-eyed expression, seemed so wrong but knowing the character it also made a lot of sense. Sure, the whole plot was a bit predictable and OTT - especially with the whole victim blaming and the villain holding innocent people responsible for their actions. Even the whole stand-in thing was so predictable.
Things that shocked me but also left me feeling so good - Hui Ju's relationship with Yu Ri and In A. With Yu Ri's fangirling I totally thought she would be someone who torments Hui Ju for having Sa eon's attention. And when In A came back, it had a similar menacing feeling to it - especially given that Hui Ju was forced to be mute to comfort In A. It was so nice to see how both of them had deep affection for Hui Ju, wanted to see her happy, and were willing to fight for her.
I was even shipping the Sang Woo and Sa Eon bromance even if it was laced with rivalry, they were united in their need to protect Hui Ju which shows how genuine and pure their affection for her was. There was no doubt in my mind that Sang Woo wasn't the bad guy although I have a feeling that was hinted at (heavily) in the show. He genuinely seemed to want the best for Hui Ju, I know its surprising given how many shows have this "if not me, then nobody can have you" motive for villains. But maybe it is a testament to Heo Nam Jun and his ability to show love and care... I haven't seen any of his other work so IDK.
I wish we knew what happened to the secret bad guy (although that too was quite predictable). He was fueled by revenge, but he genuinely seemed like he was repentant that he hurt innocent people. It would have been nice to know that he lived a good life in his brothers memory, rather in pain and full of hatred and anger.

so good so far
I’m only on episode 2 and I’m addicted. the plot and the plot twists are really good. the casting is great Aswell the chemistry is there. I love the plotline romance meets mystery meets action. this popped up on my Netflix and I added it to my watchlist and started watching it last night. it’s great so far and I love it. the acting is great and I personally love romance/action plotlines especially in kdramas. there are 12 episodes in total and I can’t wait to watch all of them. for some reason the setting reminds of penthouse- it could just be me but it gives that vibe.Cet avis était-il utile?
WHEN YOUR HEART RINGS
Delivered everything it promises. Mystery, thriller, drama & romance 💯 EVERYTHING was delivered with a dash of TOP TIER acting & smashing hot chemistry between the leads.Started off as a surprise pull of audience tagging it as wattpad coded (I did that too) soon to be turned into a melo drama and absolute madness of chemistry between the lead pair. Production had flaws which became a disaster in the last episode tbh and there's no 2 ways about it that it wasn't needed at all...
One of the rare 12 episodes drama that needed a 4 more episodes to satisfy the ending plot line but I have no complaints.
I enjoyed Yoo Yeon Seok as Sa Eon & Chae Soo Bin as Hong Heeju and will forever cherish them as Saju couple. Thank you for your services.

Extremely unique and well made until it wasn’t
The last 2 episodes really pulled down the show , I don’t know who wrote the ending but it was extremely rushed and tried to tie all the plot lines in under an hour and it just didn’t execute well. The random war zone plot was also really random, rushed and didn’t fit the story whatsoever. The izmael and palatina line too? what were the writers thinking🌚It was still a overall really good kdrama but was there any need for all that? The acting and chemistry between the leads saved the entire kdramaCet avis était-il utile?

The ending killed the show.
What’s up ending the drama series with him disappearing to a war torn country called Argan and her finding him as he liked to look at sunsets! It did not make sense… there are so many ways to end this drama.. and this is really nonsensical. The buildup was excellent but the ending was a complete letdown. This is my personal opinion.
Me encantó

the plot sucks
The plot is built with several levels of complexity, opening many possible doors for the story to develop. But in the end, there are so many doors that got tangled up. A weak story, with 12 episodes that could have been only 8. The main male character starts off with bad and self-centered behavior and later claims that he was like that to defend the female protagonist, but this is done in such an inconsistent way that it seems like a comedy. Don't get me wrong, the actors carried the story, both the main and supporting ones, but the story was poorly written, purposeless, disorganized and shallow.Cet avis était-il utile?
For me: best K Drama at the moment
Extraordinary, I watched first 6 Episoden, this K Drama did captivate me right from the beginning until now. The music, the atmosphere, the Plot, the scenes and the great chemistry between the leads. Worth watchable, absolutely. So, do yourself a favor and watch it 😉It is about the marriage between a politican and his wife, she doesn‘t speak only with sing language. They live in a cold marriage and both hide their true ferlings. This marriage gets shaken up in the moment, when his wife gets kidnapped. The hidden emotions and secrets arise bit by bit. The Kidnapping Story also contains a lot of secrets, the childhood of both mainleads hold a lot of pain. We get to know them better and better, why both mainleads choosed to burry their feelings and I am stunned, when they begin to show them in captivating scenes.

Love it!
This was one of my favorite shows ever. I know there has been a lot of controversies regarding the last episodes but I genuinely believe that Netflix mistranslated the subtitles. While I agree that even if it was mistranslated, it wasn’t necessary to involved those two countries, I do want to give the writers the benefit of the doubt that it was well intended. It could have been executed a lot better. All that aside, while the last episode was wild I truly did enjoy it and loved the whole series. The actors, cast and crew did an amazing job. The styling was perfect too. I haven’t had a drama made me feel this way like at all and I’ve been watching kdramas since I was 6, and I’m 25 now. I also don’t rewatch shows but I’ve already started rewatching this.
