Underwhelming
It's understandable to have expectations from a drama when it's highly hyped by others. However, in this case, the show didn't quite live up to its expectations. While the storyline was decent, it left some questions unanswered, such as the ML's previous connection with the FL, which could have been explored more. Additionally, the father's character wasn't punished, despite being just as bad as the mother, which could have been addressed better.Regarding the acting, there were some areas that could have been improved. Sung Hoon's acting felt a bit stiff and lacked emotions, particularly when he tried to use a stern tone. However, the FL's acting did get better as the series progressed. Despite this, her character felt somewhat weak, which was disappointing, considering it's a revenge-based storyline. The acting by the evil mother and daughter felt too dramatic and over-the-top, like a soap opera.
Overall, the show was simple and straightforward, and the romance was not particularly strong. However, it still managed to work, and if you're looking for something to pass the time, this show could be a good option. There is still plenty to enjoy, but some aspects could have been polished better.

A Makjang That's Nothing Special
My 4 categories are Acting/Cast, Writing, Direction/SFX/Music, Entertainment Value. This one is pretty tame for a Makjang. It's not bad but very forgettable.
By the way, I am not familiar with the webtoon this drama is based on.
Acting/Cast: Most of the casting was fine. Even the male lead grew on me. He always plays these types of characters though. I'd say the worst character is the 2nd female lead (the female lead's sister). I felt like she was unrealistic and over-the-top. Her acting is probably the worst. The female lead's acting isn't great in the beginning either but I think she improved through the course of the drama. No interesting characters really... The villains are lame. My favorite character was the male lead's mother played by Lee Mi Sook (이미숙). 4/10
Writing: The plot is interesting and the writing isn't terrible. I was just expecting more craziness than what I was given. Not much for twists. Nothing super unexpected happened. No real roadblocks for the female lead. The villains are boring and unthreatening. It made for a stress-free watch though. The romance is surprisingly good (I say that because I normally don't like Sung Hoon's characters (방성훈). I felt the leads had chemistry and I like how the romance develops between them. I also liked that the female lead has an impressive talent. She kind of reminded my of the female lead in Love In Sadness (now that's a memorable drama). 3/10
Direction/SFX/Music: It has good pacing. The music is ok. One thing, that I'll mention here, that bugged me while watching was the styling of the male lead. They kept putting him in really baggy clothes that just makes it look like he's not wearing the right size...as though he just recently lost a lot of weight and hasn't had time to buy new clothes. But that was just a small personal gripe. 5.5/10
Entertainment Value: I stayed fairly entertained throughout the drama. I think I started to lose some interest toward the end when I realized nothing too crazy is ever going to happen. So, it was entertaining enough to get me through the drama once and fairly quickly. However, it's no where near entertaining enough to remember this drama let alone to want to watch it again. I actually forgot that I had finished this drama, which is why I'm writing this review a little late. 4/10
Overall, I gave this drama a 4/10. It's not bad, not good...just meh.

Fast pace of the plot and little depth in almost all the characters
Most of the characters lack depth. How did ML's older brother not know that his mother had abandoned him? Why did he lie about his leg disability? This type of attitude does not match the attitude that a CEO of a conglomerate should have. Why would he hate a brother who did nothing to him so much? This type of plot doesn't make sense... Why wasn't FL's mother more careful about covering her crimes and abuse if she was so careful about her own art gallery? How is FL's father simply forgiven for his complete disregard for his adopted daughter? Does not make sense. If he was a bad father and if FL has very deep traumas, how can she smile and sit next to her father and grandfather as if nothing happened? When writers diminish the pain of a trauma to that level, it's as if they take away the meaning of all the suffering FL went through... The only more plausible situation is FL with the biological mother. Furthermore, the performance of FL's younger sister is extremely irritating...This plot would have been much more interesting if ML hadn't suffered the same fate as FL, hadn't had another chance.
The story focuses on the life of FL. Placing ML as someone who also has a new chance weakens FL's story. The accident scene is pathetic. Where was the truck driver to save them both? There are a lot of holes in this story and a lot of it was conveniently written. Furthermore, it is important to note that it is strange that ML accepted a false marriage contract and then started hitting on FL, who was in a situation of psychological and domestic violence with her family (mother and sister). ML seems to be a very selfish person, so how could he think it was reasonable to impose his "love" on FL knowing that she was going through a very difficult time. In this way, he seems to indirectly charge FL for the "love" he gives her (a toxic behavior).
I also found it unnecessary to force a pregnancy on plot at the end because FL practically lives under the function of serving someone (and having children requires giving yourself to someone else). She has nothing interesting, she doesn't show any ambition, no clear professional ambition. If she is a painter, why doesn't she teach art classes? Why don't they show her starting her relationship with ML again but in a normal way and without being in a marriage that was fake in the beginning? Anyway, there are many problematic points. The series only saves itself because it is gratifying to watch bad people suffer the consequences of their actions, lol.
The soundtrack is beautiful and the production is well done, but it's not worth watching again. Finally, it seems like a plot written by a teenager and a form of pro-marriage propaganda from the South Korean government lol

Should have dropped this after 2 episodes
Sorry for the fans, I finished this because the reviews were so great, but it felt like forever to go through only 12 Ep, and I still do not get the enthousiasm...From my point of view, every character is one dimension, their relationship not even remotely believable, the scenario and dialogues are almost always so un-interesting that they have to go for the most over-the-top twist to hide that their storyline is actually quite thin with tons of plot holes...
If you are interested in revenge or time-travel stories, there are certainly much better dramas available... All in all, drama is a good candidate for the worst drama I have ever seen.

I really liked it, but...
A young woman, Yi Joo, is treated miserably by her family, and almost dies. But then, time rewinds and she finds herself traveling to the past. Taking her chances she's plotting a marriage with Do Guk, that will allow her take revenge for the wrongs she's suffered. Do Guk eventually gets wants a real marriage with her.First, I gotta say that the time-slip works smoothly, once she goes back in time and she makes her decision for a revenge. Jung Yoo Min who plays Yi Joo has such a beautiful expressions, I feel all her pain in her tears. The main couple is a real guilty pleasure with amazing chemistry, their cliché moments that are just so fun to watch! Sung Hoon plays so well in this role, it's perfect for him! I enjoy the second couple too, they are doing awesome being villains. Kudos to all the other villains too!
The show is totally a soap opera, with all the messy twist and turns of a soap opera; back stabbing within a chaebol family - crazy but works well with the over-the-top acting from all cast. Even though it’s messy, it does not drag from the beginning all the way to the end. Every episodes has a drama, angst and reveals to keep the momentum. However, the resolution doesn’t feel as satisfying as the twist and turns by the end... it feels like it's written just for closure, wasn’t as genuine anymore. I don't think this show stands the test of time, but if evil scheming melodrama is your jam, you will enjoy!

Finished in one seating… haha
I thought I’d drop this I wasn’t in to it in the beginning episode 1 to be exact but luckily I pushed through all though I felt that this could’ve been a 16 episode series, overall I enjoyed it.. there were missing scenes that would’ve been nice if they touched upon, but I also like that it wasn’t dragging at all.. kinda fast paced.. really wish they made it longer. The chemistry is there believe me, I rarely get butterflies but when I do it’s really there. I liked it because of the ML and FL, and how effectively annoying the antagonists are. there’s room for improvements on some parts of the storyline but still I’m satisfied. It was worth my time, thank goodness I stumbled upon this, after dropping Everyone loves me (c-drama)Cet avis était-il utile?
Now this is how you tell a modern cinderella story! Jung Yoo Min as Han Yi Joo excels as she seizes her chance to grow some strength against her maddeningly selfish family. Sung Hoon as Seo Do Guk is the perfect partner, truly supportive, protective and considerate. Together, through all the ridiculous twists and turns of the plot they stay true to themselves. This keeps the plot from getting frustrating, you are never mad at the main characters, just the circumstances they find themselves in.
There's lots of protectiveness and rescuing, and it's just all around good fun. A couple points off for 1) incorporating prejudices in about adoption/step family (over and over 'true blood' relatives support each other in the way that not 'true blood' relatives do not) 2) there was a not sex-positive, dubious consent sex scene that was thrown in for no good reason.
Music, cinematography, are all competent and typical of this style of drama. If you like dramatic over the top plots and a strong side of romance this is for you.

I WILL NO LONGER FEEL PAIN! NOTHING WILL TURN RED ANYMORE.
I thank MBN for showing that a drama with a modest budget, but with a good script, well-developed and implemented clichés, well-executed plot and direction, can indeed be successful and win over the audience. This drama has demonstrated that it is possible to achieve this feat. The ending of the drama, in my opinion, presents all loose ends properly tied up, with a clear and conclusive conclusion. The explanation for the characters' second chance in life was simple: "God wanted it, and it's all right."Of course, this drama has become one of my favorites on MDL, being an incredible experience to follow these twelve episodes. I hope MBN produces more dramas with the same atmosphere.
Now that the drama is over, I can say that, in the webtoon, there are three characters who go back to the past (the protagonists and Kim Jae Won). I believe that not including this plot for Kim did not harm the development of the story. If MBN wanted to, they could have extended the plot to 16 to 20 episodes, but it's all right. It's good to end things at their peak, which helps preserve good memories.

Bati recordes!

In love with the k-drama <3
This Korean drama is a really fun drama if you like revenge! I wanted to watch this drama for a long time but kept putting it off. And I really regret that I left this drama for so long. I give this drama a 9 out of 10. The story was completely correct and everything was really good, the acting, the setting, the actors and even the background music.really perfect as the title itself says.
the story is about a little girl who is adopted from an orphanage at a young age. In a rich family you would say that is really good but no it was anything but good.. she grows up and is hated by her stepmother and stepsister. They abuse her a lot while her father does nothing about it (but later he deeply regretted it).
She really wants to leave her home and believes she has found her great love when she meets and marries her husband.
Until she really understands why he married her, it was actually all a big lie. He never loved her and only abused her so he was closer to her stepsister (his true love). - After this, much more happens. If you want to know, you should definitely watch the series.
Each episode is around an hour, I actually thought it was really long, but each episode ends really excitingly, making you want to go straight to the next episode.
I really love that everything fits together so well and that everything turns out well.
The girl had her perfect life: a warm family, while her stepsister lived in a hut and her mother was in prison.
In the end everyone got the promised salary and what they earned and I thought that was absolutely PERFECT
and I honestly could watch it over and over again.
Everything was great, that's why I give this k-dram a 9/10.
I definitely recommend buying this drama, I finished this drama in 3 days and there are 12 episodes of an hour or more each so if I were you and I love revenge I wouldn't pass up this drama!! !
thanks for reading this far! XOXO

Crazy and Fun
I am not usually a fan of the very soap opera-esque dramas that have over-the-top plots and acting, but this one worked for me. I think the secret to this story is that it was overtly overdramatic and didn't try to be anything it wasn't. The villains were so wildly evil that it was comical at times. Perfect Marriage Revenge is the perfect binge watch because it's a shorter short with a super fast-paced plot that keeps you interested. It's not the most memorable show, but it was super entertaining while I was in it.Likes: Chemistry between the main couple was great. Keeping the explanations of the time travel vague worked and kept it from overcomplicating the story. The male lead was very protective and supportive immediately, total green flag. The female lead realizing her power and finding her self confidence. The mother-in-law and family was great and I loved her and the stepmother battling it out.
Dislikes: several characters got second chances that really did not deserve them. I wanted to see her entire family punished because they all deserved it. Ending felt a little rushed. The backstory for the romance was not explained or delved into enough and I would have liked more of it. Everything with his brother was kind of bizarre and a definite weak point. I wanted more of the friendship with her, his sister, and his cousin! Seeing Yi-joo before she starts her revenge was painful to watch.

In another life, I will be your girl
Dec. 3, 2023Whoa, another kdrama that has ended and that I have finished.
Perfect Marriage Revenge is the drama for revenge and I must say I love the pacing of this series. As it is adapted from a webtoon, I was a bit skeptical with the 12 episode format. But I must say that 12 episode pacing was good, it did feel fast. And I did feel some parts of the plot could have had a better explanation.
Also did anyone else notice how the running time got shorter and shorter as the series went by??
Back to review, the series itself is pretty good, and anyone can tell that the budget of the series was not as high as other kdramas that are also in the runtime. But they did well, they excel with what they were given with. I did wish certain scenes could have gotten better execution. Some scenes kinda fell flat, and those scenes made me skip or watch in 1.5x speed.
REGARDLESS of its flaws, I still liked watching this kdrama. Something to keep yourself entertained for sure.
