Happy I Watched It!

I am happy watched this series because it contained strong characters overall. There was a strength in the character of even the "villain." And the side stories were well done to boot! While the main characters had to deal with a number of challenges as they got together, they maintained a great deal of trust in one another. The lead female character was especially courageous and self confident. I also liked seeing the support the characters had for one another. This is a great show that is worth watching more than once.

I was so excited for this drama. FL is gorgeous and I’ve always loved her work. ML is easy on the eyes and I was excited to see him in a lead role. But this drama couldn’t seem to decide what it wanted to be. The intro song and scene made it seem like this was going to be a mature and sultry drama …. but in reality it was tame with a lot of interrupted almost kisses. At times this drama seemed more like a rom com and other times it wanted to be more risqué with sexy dresses and pool scenes …. but none of it seemed to add anything to the drama, The FL dressed and walked with confidence and seemed like an independent woman, yet she didn’t speak up around ex-boyfriend. There was one too many exes and one too many supporting couples… I felt bad but ended up fast forwarding through their very predictable parts.

What kept me watching was the chemistry between the leads. They did have sweet moments, although I couldn’t help but feel like they were both holding back and just acting out scenes. Maybe because I’ve watched FL’s other dramas where her chemistry with other ML’s were off the chart and unquestionable. In the end though, I did like how the leads stuck together once they got together and didn’t break up. I can’t bring myself to rate this lower than a 7… If you love the leads, I think you’re good to go… with the help of the FF button…

Love at first wrist grab...

This drama feels like the fantasy of an old house wife who just found out here husband was a d*** who cheated on her and is now wondering what if she had put herself and her career first... maybe gotten together with a younger guy, with the cold cool musician she once saw...

The female lead is supposedly smart, successful, fun etc she has some pretty big trust issues, princess syndrom and well seams pretty stupid at times... there is definitely a lack in communication skills here.

The male lead, is a cold, pretty good looking and has an intense passionate gaze... The guy also lacks all verbal communication skills but is completely fluent in wrist grab as well as sack of potato lifts.

While I do see that both have a lot of tension I never really understood when they fell so passionately for each other? was it in the censured scenes not available for us? or was it a spell? does she have a thing for wrist grabs? Does he have a thing for drunk girls? I am not sure?

But dude does not seem to be able to communicate at all. not in the beginning, not in the middle and not in the end dudes lack of communication skills are constantly there... luckily the girl likes wrist grabs so they seem to work things out anyway... most of the time.

The second couple is an immature pair of on and off... the second housewife fantasy... Both feel like 13 year olds and not like consenting adults, making the paring feel very off...

The second male lead is as manipulative and evil as a second male lead gets, you will probably not get SLS here.. you may ship the FL with one of the girls in the drama as they seem to actually be able to communicate with each other but since the girls do not practice wrist grabs I would advise you to just let that thought go...

There are a bunch of other rivals who show up here and there, unnecessary conflicts and a bunch of business stuff that make 0 sense but cause drama . There are also a bunch of lovely gestures, fantasy stuff that work on screen but do not do it for me... at all.. there is some slow mo stuff, waves, fire works , men who can both clean and cook women who can work but not clean or cook...

So if you are looking for wrist grabs, passionate kisses, gestures and mindless fluff... with a dash of WHAT the... go for this , if not move a long...

P.s the dubbing is also off

A Modern Rom-Com That Doesn't Disappoint

I just finished Love at Night [2021], a modern business rom-com with Liu Xueyi and Zhang Yuxi headlining the cast. I actually picked this up because I wanted to see Liu Xueyi in another lead role [where I could enjoy his dimples lol], but I'm glad I did. While it is certainly not perfect, I'd rate it as one of the better recent rom-coms I've seen.

The central character, Xu Qingyou, meets her love interest, Mo Linze, when she drowns her sorrows at a local bar because she discovers her boyfriend / fiance of ten years has recently cheated on her. Their story develops due to their interaction on the business playing field and through other social encounters. An extensive cast of friends, family and work associates support the main leads through numerous crises, add to the conflict and provide a great deal of comic relief. Two additional couples provide subplots that highlight relationship conflicts like older woman with younger man and rich heiress with working class man.

Overall I would rate this pretty highly. Good to see a cast that's mostly out of the early 20s, with a plot that makes them look mature, intelligent and responsible, and characterization that is a little more complex than normal. The kiss scenes were well done for the most part, and the cliche scenes weren't overwhelming. Oh! And the women were well dressed! They looked like professionals, and wore colours that made them look good. I think I saw two sweaters on women the whole time... lol ...

The plot was reasonably paced, though I agree with some comments I've seen that the main couple could have gotten a little more screen time, especially as opposed to the 2nd couple. There were also some background details that annoyed me, like one character being asthmatic but never having the appropriate meds on hand for emergencies, and umbrellas that disappeared into thin air after the rain.

Nevertheless this is quite an enjoyable drama.

The Chemistry Saved It!

Nothing in Love At Night really stands out except for the leads’ chemistry. This is a typical romance drama that uses exes to create problems for the couple as part of the plot. You will also have an immature girl pursuing the male lead despite his firm no. Hence, this production will not give you anything groundbreaking with its recycled themes.

The only reason why this drama remains addictive is the main couple’s chemistry. If there is one thing that the screenwriters did right, it is to heighten the undercurrents between the would-be lovers. With their sizzling chemistry, those undercurrents become more obvious and you will then be tempted to follow their story. Of course, this couple also look very good together. Some pairings just don’t have that lovers’ vibes such as the one in Fall In Love With A Scientist. For Zhang Yu Xi and Liu Xue Yi, you would not have this problem at all with their matching visuals.

Half-Baked Subplots
Love At Night starts off with the girl already in a long-term relationship. It might be a little different from the usual rom-coms as this lasts for about one-third of the drama. The good thing is they don’t get a lot of screen time together and the relationship is shown to be on the rocks to set the stage for the male lead to woo her. Hence, it is not annoying in that way but you will need to wait for more than half the drama before the main couple get together.

As the focus is on the romance, the subplots end up being half-baked. The jealous ex angle is not fully developed and ends in a very anti-climatic way after leading viewers up that path in the earlier episodes. The way the business problems are resolved are depicted in a very simplistic way with no details given. You will just be told that the issues are settled after the male lead is shown going from one meeting to another to resolve the business crisis created by his girlfriend’s ex. So, don’t expect this to have a heavy business feel like My Bargain Queen or Something Just Like This.

Personally, I don’t even think the jealous exes are necessary for the drama if they are not going to do it properly. This could have been shortened to 24 episodes. The leads’ chemistry could have been utilized to make this drama incredibly sweet just like You Are My Glory rather than dishing out a poorly developed revengeful ex subplot to the viewers.

Side Couples’ Screen Time
The second side couple actually takes up quite a bit of screen time in Love At Night. Theirs is an older woman and younger man romance. The girl is 8 years older and I guess this provides viewers with a clear contrast to the main couple. If you like them, then this drama will have more to offer. But if you don’t, you will be constantly clicking the fast forward button because they appear quiet often in each episode.

For me, this second couple is not an attractive one. It is not done right with the way the guy is being depicted. He appears as clingy and immature although some may find him sweet with the way he takes care of the girl’s daily needs such as meals. He is like the guy in My Fated Boy but way more timid and childish which is why this couple doesn’t resonate with me.

The third couple doesn’t have a lot of screen time and their romance is not really explored in detail either. But the girl is kind of irritating to watch at times with her immaturity and arrogance. I don’t think viewers will care much about their romance anyway which is why their screen time seems like a filler to lengthen the drama.

Acting
fBoth the leads did a respectable job playing their roles. Zhang Yu Xi is not a new face in this kind of romance drama. She also had great chemistry with Ryan Ding in Intense Love which is a fairytale-like rom-com. In Love At Night, she displays the same natural chemistry with her co-star and oozes confidence and allure as a pretty senior executive.

Liu Xue Yi was also in Love And Redemption and Ancient Love Poetry. Maybe that was why I couldn’t recognize him at first as those were historical dramas. He possesses charisma in Love At Night and portrays himself to be confident, smart, and stylish to fit the character perfectly.

When the 2 leads are put together, they are a pleasure to watch. They look like real lovers which increases the overall romantic feel of the drama.

My Verdict – A So-So Drama
Basically, Love At Night is an average drama. If you have watched enough of Chinese romance dramas, you would know that there are much better ones out there. But this is still watchable because of the oozing chemistry of the leads and the healthy and matured relationship depicted. There is not breakup once the couple got together with a good dose of communication and trust. However, it still can’t run away from the cliche jealous exes and parental objection.

The other positive trait about this drama is that the main characters are rather smart people. Perhaps the female lead is silly to consider getting back with a cheater in the beginning but at the very least, she knows when she has to make a clean break. I don’t find them annoying and the couple’s growing attraction towards each other helped me to continue on after the first few episodes.

This is not a drama that you will watch for the plot. Just like Once We Get Married, you watch this for the feel good factor brought on by the fluff and sweetness of the main couple. So, for this Love At Night review, 7/10 is already a generous score to give. If only they had improved on the kisses to make them more passionate, this could be a more entertaining watch. After all, this is a matured romance given the age of the characters. As it is, the kissing scenes are rather tame if you compare them to You Are My Glory and Love Is Sweet. I just find that it is a pity that they failed to fully make use of the leads’ great chemistry to up the notch in terms of the romance.

Overall, I would still say give this a go. It is just 30 minutes per episode. If the side couples bore you, just skip them and you can then complete it even faster. Then, you can just savor the main couple’s sweetness to make this worth your time.

Sweet and mature love story of the main leads. The rest is skippable.

This drama focuses on two love stories. The first one is about a responsible girl boss with a soft side (the female lead) who finds out her fiancé has cheated. She spends a drunken night with a seemingly unbothered musician with a flirty side (the male lead), who turns out to be her new co-worker. The second one is about a soft and sweet artist (the female lead’s younger brother) who falls in love with his sister’s older best friend.

The best (and only) thing about this drama is the main lead’s love story. It’s mature, somewhat realistic, a mix of romance, emotional with funny moments. Most of their romantic moments happen at night (hence the title) and the night cinematography truly enhances their scenes. I truly loved their story, both go through challenges and especially the female lead has a great self-love arc.

The rest of the drama however is a total let down. After episode 10 I pretty much ff/skipped everything except the main lead’s scenes. The second couple is plain and boring, in fact their story feels very separated from the main leads and not connected to the night theme of the drama. There is also a third couple that is annoying and a total filler. We also have typical workplace conflicts that are boring and seriously feel like fillers too.

POSITIVE:
- Mature and responsible main leads.
- Great chemistry between the leads.
- Beautiful cinematography (especially all the romantic moments between the leads that are shot at night). It truly lives up to the title “Love at Night”.
- Many beautiful rain/umbrella scenes.
- Shirtless scenes with the male lead.
- Male chases female trope.
- Rom-com feel but with a more mature and serious tone.
- Female lead has the most stunning outfits.
- Not a typical love triangle. There is a cheating ex fiancee that tries to get back with the female lead. He didn’t bother me at all as he served as a great plot device and character development for the female lead. In fact their story felt very realistic and great lessons for many women around the world. He was cunning, manipulative and truly despicable which made the plot interesting for me.

NEGATIVE:
- Boring workplace setting. We have the typical work conflicts that are only there so the characters do something.
- Equal (if not more) screen time given to the second couple. Their love story is odd and boring.
- Annoying and filler scenes of the third couple that didn’t need to exist.
- The only likeable/interesting characters are the two main leads.

OVERALL:
This drama could have been 10 stars if it was shorter and only focused on the love story between the main leads. I’d only recommend it if you love the main leads and want a sweet and mature love story with them (and are willing to ff/skip the rest).

I love some of the new C-dramas coming out that are breaking the mold. Not the usual story lines in this one.

Music is great. Lead actors are also fantastic.

I find the second couple a bit bland and tend to skip through some of their scenes.

It is a slow-burn for sure. Up to current episodes and I'm ready for the FL to actually make a decision and take action for herself. Although she has had moments of standing up for herself, there are plenty of situations where her long-time boyfriend/ex and father are clearly manipulating her and she lets herself be pushed around. I guess, maybe as a woman who has witnessed and experienced my fair share of subtle or not so subtle masochistic behavior, it is quite 'triggering' in some way. Like girl, stop flip flopping around just stand firm already. She gives in on one scene and the stands resolute the next and this happens repeatedly.

Also, who behaves like that when drunk? She behaves as a child when drunk (something common to C-dramas: paint their cheeks bright pink and make the girls behave like 5year olds).

In all fantastic and so close to being a more realistic view on relationships that aren't fairytale. It has elements of being modern and sexy. I'm looking forward to the rest!

Dig deeper & you’ll see the depth

At first glance this seems like a light fluffy romance drama without a lot of substance. And for many viewers that’s all they will see. But for veteran drama lovers that like to dig beneath the surface and reveal all of the subtle nuances and underlying themes of a drama, you’ll enjoy this. Because there are lots of layers that you get to peel away in this drama if you’re paying close attention. You’ll find that it deals with some very real modern day problems like gaslighting, manipulation, and misogyny. It also tackles the preconceived notions many people make about one another based on a persons appearance, their social status, or their income level.

Listed below are the various social issues this drama tackles.

Gaslighting: The female leads ex fiancé cheats on her but makes her feel like the bad guy for not forgiving him. He says everyone makes mistakes and if she truly loved him she wouldn’t throw away the 10 years they had together. He insinuates that her feelings for him aren’t genuine if she leaves him. This is just one example but he gaslights her a lot.

Misogyny: Despite the female leads desire to continue working, the ex fiancé continually pushes her to quit her job. He expects his wife to stay at home and take care of the kids. He also gets involved in her personal life making big decisions for her without even consulting her because he feels that he knows what’s best for her like she’s a child. He brags about molding her into the ideal wife for himself as if she’s an object to be conformed to his needs.

Manipulation: The ex fiancé uses sympathy and guilt to manipulate the female lead. He convinces the female lead to take family photos with his mom (even though she’s already broken up with him) because she’s very ill and it’s her dying wish before her surgery. He constantly reminds her of how devastated both families will be if they don’t marry.

Preconceived notion’s: Most of the people surrounding the female lead (including her father) have preconceived notions about her fiancé. Like, since he’s very handsome he must be nice. Or he’s wealthy so he deserves our respect. Or he’s powerful so we should look up to him and admire him. Society as a whole tends to treat attractive or powerful people better. They just assume they’re superior to others whereas a less attractive or poor person is often looked down upon. These preconceived notions blind the female leads family and friends to her plight. They only make things worse by pushing her to stay with him. They don’t see her misery as the ex fiancé throws her into confusion and self doubt in order to manipulate her into marrying him. Fortunately her best friend and the male lead aren’t fooled. They see the fiancé for what he really is and endeavor to help her.

The ex fiancé’s actions are all classic tactics used by a narcissist. He’s always either gaslighting her, guilt tripping her, or using shady tactics behind the scenes to manipulate the situation. He never goes too far to where the angst and melodrama overwhelms things and makes it an emotional roller coaster. But his character did make the drama more interesting. And I especially enjoyed seeing the female lead learn how to handle him.

I also like that the female lead is strong, confident, and knows her worth. She never lets her personal life effect her job and she’s really good at what she does. She dresses superbly too. (I know that sounds very superficial but modern Chinese dramas tend to dress their female leads terribly which I find very annoying.) It’s difficult seeing her ex fiancé manipulate her but seeing her grow and learn from it and eventually stand up for herself is so worth it. I loved her character growth.

Some have said the male lead is overly aggressive with the female lead and is disrespectful by disregarding her personal space. I disagree. They are very attracted to each other and there’s obvious sexual tension between them. But she won’t acknowledge it and pretends there’s nothing there. This prods him to prove to her that there is definitely something sizzling between them by getting up close and personal. Plus he sees her ex fiancé’s true colors and wants to help her break free from him. It pains him to see her treated so badly. That’s why he’s always getting up close to her. It’s to get her to acknowledge and face her attraction to him. He knows they could be really happy together. He’s not being overly aggressive or overbearing, he’s trying to help her. What I really like about the male lead is his strength, self confidence, and unwavering loyalty. His character is very endearing.

Another thing I really liked about this drama was the main leads healthy relationship and sizzling romance. Once they get together they have a few issues pop up but like normal real life couples, they talk things over and work it out. It was so refreshing to see that because it’s a rarity in Asian dramas. And surprisingly I wasn’t bored after they got together even though it was midway through the drama. I think that’s because their relationship had such great chemistry. If you like romance dramas with lots of realistic kisses and skinship then you’ll love this drama because they kiss and cuddle a lot.

That being said, I have to address the mistakes this drama made. The biggest mistake was the amount of screen time they gave to the very boring secondary romance. Their characters lacked depth, their storyline wasn’t interesting, and they had zero chemistry. And they were given a lot of screen time too. So I was constantly hitting the forward button through their scenes.

The other big mistake was that there wasn’t much else going for this drama other than the romance. They didn’t give you enough information or background to make the office politics interesting. I know the male lead was an executive at a high end investment firm investing in the female leads company. But I’m still not sure what the female leads company actually did, I know she was a director with a team under her but they never gave a lot of details about the job itself. And you never really get to know the employees there either. So the office politics weren’t that interesting and added little to the story.

Therefore because they gave way too much screen time to a boring secondary romance and the only interesting thing in the drama was the main leads romance, I took 2 stars off in my rating. Since I love a good romance with chemistry I gave it an 8. It could have been perfect if they hadn’t given so much time to the second couple or if they had spent more time making the office politics more interesting. But the way they dealt with the misogyny, gaslighting, and manipulation by the ex fiancé did add a lot to the story. I enjoyed how they handled it. So overall it’s not the best drama ever but it’s cute, very romantic, it deals with some interesting social issues, and the acting is really good. I would recommend it for those that are into romance dramas.

Qingyu Meets Her Second Love, Mo Lingze.

A modern love story about people in the city who were busy with their careers and how they managed to keep their relationship well.

▪️Main Points
~ Two people were destined to meet and gradually fell in love. They chose to be in relationship and keep their love without disturbing their careers of each others.

▪️Opinions
~ If you're already in long relationship with your boyfriend and decided to get marry but you knew he cheated, it was better to end the relationship and move on.
~ When you was destined to meet another guy at the same time when you hurts with the past relationship, it was better to not rush into another relationship and be calm first to think on what you should do.
~ Xu Qingyu was a great worker since she always gave the best to her works and satisfied her boss with her performance. She did not gave up the tasks given and try her best to finish it.
~ She reminded herself to not rush into another relationship so she makes herself colds and arrogance. She also make sure that Mo Lingze do not come across the line that she already made.
~ The second leads were also interesting. They were a young boy and mature woman who already divorced before and wants to find another guy to fell in love. The young boy was her friend's brother and they already knew for a long time so she did not have any feeling for him and accepted him as her young brother. The boy wants to do everything for her and try to win her heart.
~ The third leads were not yet recognize their feeling since the woman liked ML first and keeps on pestering him. Their relationship were still not in progressed.
~ FL and ML were in relationship. Even they still in the earlier stage but they were so happy together. They were so sweet and have a perfect chemistry. I hoped their relationship will last long till they got married.
~ The second couple also were in relationship. They were so happy and kept their relationship from others. Even the boy was still young and not have a steady job but he was matured enough to think about their relationship. He was a bit childish but it was okay since the woman can kept remind him so that they can balance out their relationship.
~ I dislikes the drama that have clingy ex girlfriend or boyfriend. Most of the chinese drama will have this kind of plot. But to me, this kind of plot was bored. For example in this drama, Tang Xi was the one who being clingy to her ex boyfriend, Mo Lingze. She was so annoying and her dubbing voice also was really really annoyed to hear.
~ Mo Lingze should told the truth about his life to Qingyi. He left the suprise made by her with sincere heart was so bad. It was pity to make her sad just because of his trauma. But Qingyu was a good girl. She trust Mo Lingze has his own difficulty and do not argued with him.
~ It was so good to have a boyfriend who know how to paint a picture. Fang Qi was so lucky to get Xu Wei as her boyfriend. He drew her beautifully in the picture and got it hang at the exhibition.
~ No break up. I always loved the drama with no break up plot. It was so good to see they communicated their problems even they're argued and dissatisfied at first.

▪️Character Intro
~ Zhang Yuxi was a lovely and cute actress. I knew her beforehand and watched her past dramas. It was all the best especially Intense Love. Even many people said that she was not good enough in acting but to me she already do her best. She acts as Xu Qingyi who was a white collar worker. She was a determine and great worker in the company. She has an ex fiance with ten years relationship. I loved on how she dressed. It was so nice and great with her body and she looks so pretty.
~ Liu Xue Yi acts as Mo Lingze. He was a cool and gentlement guy who can easily win the woman's heart. But it was different case with Qu Xingyi since she did not care about his looks and always argued with him. Since he was interested with her first so he decides to win her heart. I always loved to see a cool and gentlement guy in the drama.

▪️Overall
As far I could see, this drama was very interesting and great for you to watch. It thought us that a long relationship doesn't always ended in a good way. It might hurt us and make us disbelieved with another relationship but do not worry as you are deserves to be happy.

For me, the plot was good and not draggy with a lot of conflicts and misunderstanding. The production make their best to edit the drama with enough episodes to show the good story of the drama.

I quite satisfied with the drama even the ending was not enough with just proposing scene. But it was already good to see the proposing scene even there was no marriage at the ended... ^,^

Frustrating YET AGAIN!

I’m writing this review at 1.00am... you can imagine my frustration after just finishing Epi 24 and needing to get this off my chest! ;(

The relationship between Xu Qingyao and Mo Lingzhe started off interesting. She was already engaged and had been with her boyfriend for ten years. She then catches her bf cheating on her, that’s when Mr Mo comes into the picture. He finds her intriguing and interesting, but she needed time to sort things out w her fiancé. So he relentlessly chases her in a subtle way, always being there for her, advising her and accompanying her when she was hurt or needed help. He was really present.

Eventually, she breaks off her engagement realising that they already had problems and they were not a good match. Later on she finally realises that she started to have feelings for MLZ and finally decides to stop running away and be with him. Yay!! Or so I thought... they get together in episode 16, and it was a nice confession scene. And then... of course. An introduction to a new character- Tang Xi which is MLZ ex gf (they broke up 8 years ago!) FYI, I can’t understand why these exes must come back into the picture after umpteen years and be all bitchy wanting to get their man back. This is where it all becomes frustrating. Although MLZ doesn’t entertain the ex, and XQY is seemingly quite understanding, I felt he was treating her much worse now that they are together than when he was pursuing her. After they start their relationship, he is more distant , cold and unavailable.

[Spoiler: For example, when tang xi sang with their band the song she wrote for him, and XQY left, he shld have run after her and comforted her. Instead he just continued playing and expected her to just wait for him. Another incident is when he received a phone call and went to work to meet Tang Xi leaving their band dinner, but not explaining to XQY why or who he is going to meet. During an important interview for XQY to get a promotion, MLZ took the opportunity to humiliate, insult and degrade her in front of all the judges / heads of department and the CEO of the company. He did that to point out that she was not suitable for that position, but was more suited for another role in the company. However, his treatment of her in the room was just too harsh and too cruel. And the last straw was when he stood her up for dinner because he rushed to take his ex to the hospital. It’s funny how ppl don’t check their phones or can’t feel the vibrate mode? In this day and age where communication is SO AVAILABLE, and yet they don’t communicate End spoiler]

The whole relationship development just seemed unbalanced and just... weird. The other couples were... meh! I liked the idea of young guy with older successfully woman, but Xu Wei was just a silly little puppy doing all the chores and cooking for her. (If you like younger guy older woman themes, try My Fated Boy. It’s much better) I did like Fang Qi- I thought she is very pretty, and flexible! I read she trained as a classical dancer thus the split on the sofa and superb foot arch! As for the 3rd couple... OH SO ANNOYING. Lin Sin Yu is constantly falling down.. and whining. Sheesh... just fast forwarded most of her scenes.

Now for the OST, the one song for their intro is horrible. Didn’t like it at all. No memorable song in the drama. Sorry to say, this is not a recommended watch. Let’s hope these Chinese drama writers improve on their writing and storylines.

Refreshing drama

I tried hard ,really hard to find negatove points to deduct my rate on story and make it 8.5 but i just cant.I wanted to watch this drama coz of Yuxi...i didnt have expectation as i didnt watch the trailer. Just directly started view without having any expectation.

But damn this drama turned out to be pefect with imperfectness.....like first of all,the story line is mature, it simple just refreshing show casing healthy relationship, overcoming toxic or previous relationship and just being you.
Yes they are story plots when there could have bren more like the love confession of 3rd couple or something. The writer did a amazong job. Really liked it.

Tbh I dont have a complain for me it was light weight drama and perfect for people who want to take break from high voltage and watch a simple one then is ut. This drama ans everything but in satisfactory way...like you will be like he could have said more but he didnt. But that was okay like the character is like that. For once i can say im kind of satisfied with ending. The character development was good till 30th ep. I would.like to say that this drama can give you negative points like this missing or that missing. But for me if something missed there were other scene to make it up. Main and second couple scene were more than 3rd...i wanted to see 3rd scene more too...they all are cute. If the writer wanted he could have used the plot make it twisted bt he/she didnt. This made the drama easy gong just enjoy it amd be at peace woth it.

The acting of each role done brilliantly, the all couples relation was cute. They all did a amazing job. All actor/actresses gave their best. The ost didnt have much songs but whatever they had it was mesmerising anf it was amazing.

For me 30 eps were wotth while and i love this drama....you all can also try ,i hope it will be worth of your time!! And also like the drama!!

Not that bad! Watchable and light-hearted.

First of all, it is my very first review on MDL, so hopefully it will be of any help for you in deciding whether to start watching this drama or to better skip it. I have watched this drama twice - once with English subtitles and then again with voice-over in my heritage language. Honestly, FMPOV English subtitles seem not to be able to fully capture the essence of the conversations as well as the expressions and to apparently convey the exact emotions therefore the drama gave me the impression of being more captivating and interesting while watching it with voice-over in my heritage language - at least I was looking forward to new episodes.

For a low cost-intensive production it has a decent outcome with several shortcomings. This drama could easily be forgotten or even dropped, since it is very ordinary with an almost insignificant plotline (it could be intended because it feels like depicting an average slice-of-life rather than an intense storytelling). It is full of clichés and (un)expected happenings, nothing new or spectacular but it was still somehow relieving and refreshing because most of the time (forced/staged) misunderstandings were solved pretty quickly and straightforward (ex-lovers' attempts were disappointing uncreative and mediocre). The implicitly visible mutual attraction of the main couple could be conveyed to the viewer noticeably. The main couple is charming, attractive and eye-catching, has relatively good chemistry and was convincing as on-screen lovers. The second and third couple's storyline was not engaging at all, but rather immature and unnecessary therefore fastforwarding/skipping was heavily practised (without losing much of the drama's content). There is a huge imbalance regarding the screen time of the main leads and supporting roles. Attempts to address specific societal issues tend to appear one-dimensional, superficial or not well thought out. All in all it is still a watchable light-hearted drama without any major conflicts. Do not expect too much in terms of plotline depth and protagonists' growth.

Cast: although with non-famous actors/actresses still quite good
Acting: the performance of the main leads was appropriate to the circumstances and convincing enough to carry the show
Editing: uneven, sometimes rough
Music: opening and ending songs conveyed an undescribable fulminant vibe
Set design: average and forgettable
Costumes: contemporary casual-chic
Colour palette: unimposing conventional but pleasing

Despite its shortcomings, the drama still served its purpose of entertaining the audience to a certain extent by being able to interestingly illustrate the rather drama-typical "unrealistic" and somewhat overly "romanticised" encounter between two strangers with apparently contrary personalities in an urban setting. In general, the ending of the drama was a bit unsatisfactory despite its touching ending scene, but the extra side story makes up for it relatively satisfactorily.

Despite all the above mentioned "issues" I still enjoyed watching the drama, the main couple's tingling interactions and teasings - quite enchanting. Taking into account all the premises, the drama should be generally rated between 7 to 7.5 but I
am rating it slighly higher (8 out of 10) because I simply quite like the pairing of LXY&ZYX.
