A Good Revenge Drama

I enjoyed this drama, I’ve been on a Revenge Drama kick and this one was good. It’s crazy, how far someone will go for revenge and it’s even crazier how far thethe wealthy and powerful will go. I enjoyed it, I recommend it, I watched it for Yeaji. I really love her as an actress, she does so good with her roles. This drama gives you lots of cheer-fis- thrust moments and it also feeds your anger for the injustices that the corrupt family has gotten away with. I rooted for RaEl the whole way and I definitely shed tears for her. I binged this in about three days, There were a few bits i was bored by, like all the “wife’s” tantrum scenes ugh, they were so annoying and after the second one you're kinda just over her and her solo scenes. I really disliked her, the actress who played her did a fantastic job portraying her character. I was so upset by her actions as a mother and how she thought throughout everything that she did nothing wrong. She was truly selfish from start to finish, probably the only character that stayed true to themselves to the end. Other than out wonderfully Beautiful Lawyer/Seo EunPyung. That man deserved EVERYTHING!!! Gah how I loved and rooted for him! Lots of great scenes, also some that make you flinch. Also like what the heck, the two female leads were always dressed to the nines. That was a bit over the top with the outfits. But Yeaji looks fantastic in everything she wears. I laughed, i rooted, i screamed at the tv andI did cry a few times, especially there at the final episode.

The story goes from HIGH CLASS REVENGE to 》 TWIN FLAMES WHO'S MET THROUGH THE REVENGE PLOT.

The things that i unexpected it keeps happening. At the beginning toward half ep i think is still a good one to watch, but at the some point i realized the story is more focusing to their affair issue than the main theme of this drama which is REVENGE that they have been planning for 13 years.

Now i will explain to you guys the (-) minus points of this drama:
1. The ending is really disappointed not bcz it has sad ending but bcz the villain charcters just died like that and went crazy, c'mon man they not even have a scene where they sit in the court chair!

2. It tooks 13 episodes for La El identity to get exposed like WHAT?! I mean she did a lot to me that seems suspicious and obvious but she maintains to get until 13 ep safely WOAH.
And i forget in which ep but there's scene where they playing poker game, back then i really thought this poker game is an indicate that they will be fighting head to head, bcz no one is real winner (between Yoon Kyeom and La El) but at the end they not really want to hurt each others, like they could give up everything in order to be with each others, that's really hopeless plot.

3. The one and only upper hand charcter in this drama is Lee La El, execpt her the another charcters have nothing/zero plot twist. Example:
》 Han Pan Ro, he was the most villain in here but he did nothing through the entire show rather than just shouting, demanding, swinging around his beloved hammer. At the end the charcter who used to be ex prime minister is died at his own prison, he not seemed to be use his power, money, and territory to brings La El down.

》 Han So Ra, she also supposed to be strong and evil charcter who can do everything in her way to corner La El and make La El at the weak and devastate situation (even Cheon Seo Jin from drama Penthouse not really this helpless and fight with all her might), but she did nothing than just screaming, shouthing and act like spoiled kid. But what i did not understand was WHY So Ra keep begging her husband loves who never really loves her?.

》 Kang Yoon Gyeom, he was to weak and pathetic in here. No fight back and what suicide!!!!! Hey c'mon man you have a lot unfinished busniess you cannot die just like that, your death literally can be more grand than just drove your car to end your life.
-But Park Byung Eun is nailed it at potraying his charcter as KYG, i mean like his charisma and age is perfect to playing as a chairman, a lot of people criticize his acting because his no expresion face, but for me who have been watching him from drama "Because This Is My First Life", his charcter this time have a very heavy burden and responsible, lost his mom at the young age, his father who never loves him, everyone approaching him bcz of something, marriage not based by love and having wife+father in law like them is really depressing GOSH!. So guys no wonder his character is like emotionless.

4. The highlight of the plot were "₩2 trillion divorce lawsuit that shocks the entire nation caused by Lee La El" but the divorce lawsuit is nearly no a scene, rather than a breaking news in the TV, that's all the highlight is happening around ep 12-13 (i forget the exact ep). And La El identity as Yoon Gyeom mistress is never revealed to public directly or even admitting La El was his mistress.

5. The episodes about affair is too long, so toward ep 14,15,16 that's the real war started and ending too rush, unclear, and hopeless. Even when during the lawsuit trail is not really explained too detail just So-So scenes, Kim Jung Chul, Han Pan Ro, Kang Yoon Gyeom died just LIKE THAT!!!, while KYG died how can Han So Ra still alive not even disable and perfectly fine except her face and the three real villains (HPR, HSR,KJC) in here no one like literally no one who ever confess what are they doing all these time just DIE and WENT CRAZY. NO JUSTICE AT ALL.

6. Writer have a great plot and synopsis, but unfortunately the story goes too far and not even close to main plot focus which is revenge, there's a many of potential story, charcters, and detail to develop and make it into hotter story. But writer miss the opportunity

》》》》 Seo Eun Pyeong character also can be more active on chasing for La El love and become head to head rival with Yoon Gyeom, also La El husband can really become a biggest obstacle but they choose to wasting Seo Eun Pyeong and General Jang (aka La El Husband) to make La El realtionship attempts to Yoon Gyeom difficult.

7. Too much of PLOT HOLE, the plot hole is everywhere even after the ending i still have a lot of question.
- What will happen to Da bi and Boram?

- How about Boram dad suddenly disapper in the middle of ep and suddenly appear out of nowhere at ep 14?

-Did they really have 2 daughters? Da bi and Eun-bi, so how can Eun-bi never appear as real life person rather than just a photo, if it just a phote then what's the meaning of having 2 daughters????

-Is KYG really died just like that without funeral (i get it that was his will but still) also without showing his dead body like HELLO!the 1# korea billionaire death just announced by the mere breaking news . Bcz there scene in the ep 16 where La El and Yoon Gyeom talked about piazzolla things so i have assumption "Ah! maybe he's not really died".

The (+) Plus Points from this drama
1. The OST is really great especially the ost part 1 by Kim Ye Ji "Hold Me Tight" and part 3 by Sondia "Want To Be Your Everday" ❤❤❤

2. The Fashion style W.O.A.H. Every each ep i'm looking forward for Seo Yea Ji's fashion.

4. The acting of each actor and actress really good one, i big fan of Sang Yeob oppa, watching this drama because he brought me here. But he just SML in here wellllll no problem bcz i also rooting Byung Eun oppa
P.S : i become fans of Sang Yeob oppa since his drama "Doctors" and first time i watched his drama that was "Jang Ok Jung".


Despite the ending of the drama and the plus-minus points in this drama 이브 i really want to say thank you for the staff, writer nim, director nim and every actor/actress who gave their best of the best and pour a lot of effort you guys did very² good job.

Be a rose, among the thorns?

Love is never perfect, and it comes with sacrifices. If you can give a synonym to the aesthetics of a "rose on flames" , it's "EVE". With Seo Yeaji's first project in over 2 years since IONTBO along with Park Byeungeun Lee Sangyeob and Yoo Sun, Eve is certainly not your typical femme fatalle, revenge romance thriller. Engulfing the theme of Spanish Tango, Eve sets off a very interesting plotline attracting viewers all over the globe to enjoy this genre of love, power and betrayal, as the female lead sets off planning a masterplan to destroy everyone who wronged her. Eve is the perfect example of Right Person Wrong Time, and setting your emotions on fire.

Personally, It's very rare for kdramas to start, and end exactly to the very whim as how I want it to be.
But Eve did that. It's everything I wanted. My epic realization to the finale was that...there is no win, no glory, no reward. The tragedy, the passion. Vengeance in its most cruel and raw form. Eve lives up to it's name and is a must watch for everyone.

Al inicio, parecía prometedor. Una historia de venganza con una protagonista deslumbrante y despiadada, dispuesta a todo para hacer pagar a quienes destruyeron su familia. Sin embargo, al pasar de los episodios se fue perdiendo mi interés.

Esperaba adrenalina en cada episodio, situaciones riesgosas, manipulación y juegos mentales que fueran destruyendo lentamente a cada uno de los antagonistas.

Aunque me gustaron algunas cosas, como Rael, Eunpyeong y Sora, siento que el guion fue cayendo mucho.

Para empeorarlo, odié la narrativa de las “llamas gemelas”. No encontré ni una chispa de química entre la pareja principal y el CEO no despertó nada de empatía en mí.

Tinha potencial mas...

Não vou te dizer que esse drama é de todo ruim ele até tem suas partes interessantes , confesso que o enredo é interessante até certo ponto e consegue te cativar no inicio, bem no início depois é só ladeira a baixo. O drama se torna tão arrastado e por mais que tenha várias reviravoltas ainda sim me daixava cansada. Era presidente para lá presidente para cá presiso conquistar ele , achei muito cansativo.

O que me manteve nisso foi para ver o desenrolar dos vilões sim você leu certo os vilões pois na minha opinião eles sim eram interesssantes nesse drama ,principalmente a Han So Ra, essa atriz arrasou na interpretação, suas caras e bocas o modo como ela deu vida a esse personagem insano foi iteressante de acompanhar, ela realmente carregou este drama nas costas.

Vamos falar dos outros 3 protagonistas, apesar de lindos e bem vestidos, eram tão sem vida , apáticos e sem quimica nunhuma entre si, não consegui senti nada quando eles estavam em cena, nem mesmo as cenas mais tristes da mocinha chorante ainda era raso e artificial para mim.

Em fim teve momentos bons mas esse é um drama que com certeza não aasistiria novamente.

Interesting, yet trying

I understand where the writers were trying to go. But they didn't quite land the plane. The corruption, violence, mixed relationships and revenge were understandable. Yet, some scenes tried too hard, and others missed the mark. The FL showed range in acting yet by the time you get to the end the believability of desire falls flat. The SFL was all over the place and was in constant conflict of who she described herself as in lieu of what was on the screen. The OST was okay, and the production became choppy in staging, editing and sequence after a while. ML was good in conveying a torn individual within self, love, family and career. The 'romance' believable to a point. I will admit that I felt horribly bad for the ML as he was always the innocent bystander that continued to get injured by others till the very end. Concept script was good, but after seeing the ending, it all feels lacking. It's worth the watch if you want something a bit different with a little edge and if you love looking at Seo Yea Ji.

Seduce To Conquer

Typical grow-up and return to revenge K-drama, done unusually well in a lot of ways.

Every character in this drama was acted to perfection, with the exception of maybe the annoying child actresses that played the two little girls that would be periodically forgotten as if they never existed, since they were nothing more than a detail to the drama and subsequently to the characters.

If I was to point out performances that really stood out to me, it would be the central antagonists. The SFL, with her complex personality.... disorder and mental illness, the actor that played the evil father, and the other guy... who ends up in hospital... for me, personally, as much as I loved to hate them as characters, the amount of thought and work that went into breathing life into those characters was the most impressive for me. I want to see all of them again in something else. They are superb actors.

The plot point about tango was so stupid to me. I mean, tango isn't sophisticated in any way. It was invented so that the opposite sex could have physical contact with one another. Tango music is just European classical music with a South American folk twist to it. The way they talked about it like it's this spiritual dance, instead of what it actually is, which is an intimate dance that developed into a dance to envoke sensuality. Well, that's so much like the ML and FL's relationship, isn't it?!! They both lived in an imaginary place in their heads, where they romanticized their relationship to more than what it was, which was a sexual affair. Claiming they are "Twin Flames", after he recently asked her to just forget about the lawsuit? LOL. Nope! If two people in this drama are actual twin flames, it's the FL and SML. The SML actually loves her as a real-life human being, not as an imaginary sexualized figure of his imagination. The ML has no idea what love is though, having never been loved before, except by his daughter, so it does make sense that he wouldn't be able to recognize it.

I guess the writers wanted to evoke the biblical Eve, who was Adam's second wife. The first wife, Lilith, is often depicted in classic novels such as "Jane Eyre" as the mad-woman in the attic. From the drama title alone, I know that our SFL was headed for "the attic", via madness. The scene with her putting on her war-paint mask of make-up was a stroke of genius, and I wouldn't be surprised to learn that it was done spontaneously the first time, as it looked so organic and instinctive.

I know I keep mentioning the SFL as if the FL wasn't fantastic as well, I don't mean to imply that, it's just that the SFL role is so much juicier and more interesting from a character point-of-view. The ML was excellent in his role, though, he was a character severely stunted by lack of love, which I mentioned before. The ML sacrificed himself for nothing, as it turns out, since I mean, everything would have turned out pretty much the same had he lived (though, I wouldn't have wanted him to just survive the crash, that would have been too far-fetched).

All in all, well done to the cast and crew. SFL, I loved watching a mature actress steal the show! I'll be looking for your work from now on. Also, I liked her outfits even more than the FL's, and some of them (ep 15 & 16), I want to wear myself, which doesn't happen often.... actually, that's never happened before.

Revenge is sweet, but excessive romance felt bitter

Seo Ye Ji's comeback show, Eve, started off well in it's first few episodes where she plays the lead character Ra El, looking for revenge on those who had his life trampled upon. The first half of the show's plot development is fantastic. The pilot episode and the initial sequences, including the opening scene, all had a constant flow and a number of peaks. The show's plot thickens with each passing episode as Ra El accomplishes more of her goals. We must acknowledge the way in which the characters' pasts were handled during times of uncertainty. 

It's sluggish in the later half of the show, but it keeps you engaged and curious about what's to come.I felt there was too much of romance and less of revenge story going on in 2nd half, which made me uninterested a little, however Ye Ji was phenomenal in her role and she portrayed it really well, which made me stick to the show very end. The penultimate and concluding episode were the weakest episodes of the drama and evidently doesn't compares tp to other revenge thrillers, this is not one to write home about and ultimately struggles to stand out.

it's a hot mess

I headed into this drama with high hopes after watching Seo Yea Ji's other completed drama which was a big hit, "It's okay not to be okay" however it was quite the disappointment.
The storyline left me feeling quite icky and during some parts of the drama, it was straight up disgusting.
The main plot of the story was seeking revenge to get back those that harmed the character Seo Yea Ji was playing however the methods in which she decided to seek revenge did not sit well with me. Destroying someone's family by being the mistress was repulsing.
I wouldn't recommend this drama who anyone who's against adultery as a means of seeking revenge, so save your eyes if you're one of those people.
This is just my personal opinion on the drama so by all means, watch it at your own risk.

A mature drama worth watching

A very interesting plot, kind of a slow burn because you can not be sure about what will happen next. Maybe not the best drama ever but had great performances and interesting twists! I also enjoyed that finally Korean dramas are less "innocent". I mean that most of the times you can be sure about the couple that ends up together simply because they share a kiss - it's like a seal of true love. In this story not, the protagonist is far from being innocent and perfect, as she's already married to another guy. In this drama you can enjoy the story of a mentally mature independent woman who focuses on the goal of getting revenge from the people that destroyed her family (as well as the families of many others). Be prepared though, it's a long unhappy road and sometimes you might wish for a better outcome. I also enjoyed the ending, as I believe it was the best that could happen. It was a form of the ancient Greek hubris-nemesis-atis-tisis. Overall I recommend it!

Extremely riveting with good pacing

Where do I start... This drama caught me by surprise I must say.

The story was an interesting premise that unfolded in an engaging way... Of course we had the typical tropes and endless plot holes.. to list a few - Where was Sora and Yoon Gyeom's older daughter? What truly happened to Sora's mother and even Yoon Gyeom's mother? What will happen to Boram now? because La-El was portrayed as a character who truly cared for kids so it seemed out of character to abandon the child like that.

As for the acting, it was good. I have to praise the actress that played Sora who was extremely convincing and entertaining. Seo Yea Ji was good too but sometimes took on extremely intense facial expressions that she struggled to switch out of when she needed to portray a different kind of emotion.

My main complaint though is with the Seo Eun Pyung character who was a very weird and unrealistic plot device to help La-El accomplish otherwise impossible pursuits. A guy who looks only a few years older than La-El herself but happens to be so powerful in government that a former tyrannical prime minister who commits murder to get his way somehow respects him? It was a very odd choice. Oh and he's in love with her too! Why???

Back to what I liked... the drama did a good job of portraying that people aren't inherently good or bad but make certain choices as a consequence of their upbringing i.e. Sora has only known and been taught evil so how else would she have turned out?

All in all, the drama kept me entertained all through. I was never bored or felt like it had lost its way. Truly a good watch!
