Fateful Love (2024) is a romance fantasy wuxia with Hans Zhang as Jun Bei Yue / 4th Prince and Zhu Xu Dan as Han Zi Qing as the leading couple. The series plot has too many attacks on the leading lady and the lead male is not always there on time to save her which made the plot repetitive and unnecessary with an incredible amount of characters that wanted her dead. The leading lady was capable and she did a good job performing her character as a strong and intelligent female lead. The male lead also did well performing his character so, where is the problem? Unnecessary characters that disrupted the flow of the story, the leading couple lacked romantic chemistry, and the end, although they seemed like they ended together, was not satisfying at all; he didn’t seem like he recognized her after saving her from the cave that she fell in at the beginning nor did he give any indication that he knew who she was when she embraced him, so much for a “fateful love”. This is a series where good and experienced actors seemed to just want to finish the drama and move on as fast as they can. Cet avis était-il utile?

Poison
The plot fascinated me. This prince has expressly chosen as his bride, against everyone's will, the only woman they don't want. She came from the future and is a fighter and not the submissive girl that the family expects. The prince loves her temperament so different from the others.
I liked how the prince looks at her with heart eyes and pride and trusts her. Their chemistry increases episode after episode. Nice pairing!
Why are all the competitions between princesses and not prince? Women must have so many skills!
A little boring that all the people want to poison her.
40 episodes were perhaps too many and also all these people spitting blood were definitely too many.
I really liked the ending.

Might be fun if you're into silly stuf
This is my first review. The FL is strong and has military training so fight scene is done well. Lack of good acting makes she appears rude throughout the show. The ML is quite good with acting and always defend the FL. He even forgave her after stabbing him spontaneously. The chemistry between the main couple is average. The revenge scene is so satisfying. It is refreshing to see bad guy always get punish after FL start to appear. Costume is pretty and reflect the variety of country in the drama. The downside is firstly, the story telling and awkward script. The story flow is not smooth and the script is all over the place. Secondly the bgm sound. Why you gotta put a funny bgm over a serious scene? Also the scene where they meet the king is weird because they didn't show proper kneeling in front of the king.
Watch it just because i wanna see what more ridiculous things they wanna bring next.
Ok bye till next drama~

Siapa pemeran utama sebenarnya?

Cringy on and off screen
This is just my opinion and I’m not interested in arguing with anyone about their opinions.I wish I had known about the pervy actor Hans Zhang. It’s not a secret that he’s a creep in real life. Just do a search for his name and sexual harassment. In one of his other shows, in real life, he sexually harassed the actress playing the female lead. It wasn’t supposed to be a scene where he sexually harasses her. The scene, among others, were so problematic that the show was removed from streaming platforms.
So this doesn’t get marked as a spoiler, I won’t go into why this show was also cringy. Just know that Hans Zhang remains a creep in real life.
I can’t figure out why he is still allowed to keep starring in roles–especially idol roles he looks too old to play. It’s not like he’s a great actor.
I feel sorry for Zhu Xu Dan and the other talents. It’s not their fault they had to work with him. Before you start saying that they could’ve just said no, it’s not easy for non-established actors to just refuse roles.
Save your precious time. Stay away from this show like you’d stay away from Hans Zhang in real life.

All over the place - too many characters
I like the ML and FL but come on.. this is all over the place there is a merfolk .. a somewhat dying whit hair crown prince and a prince whose mother belong to this powerful tribe.. just too many stories.. and FL kept encountering difficulties yet managed to come out on top.. aside that I like the more grown up flirting they have between the ml and fl which is rare in c drama.. I am like 3/4 way to the series and still don’t know what the merfolk and the now cured white hair crown prince’s story are.. and now We have all of sudden and snake Ten( the maid)?. Really?. So close of dropping it but since I already spent too much time investing in this might as well finish it.Cet avis était-il utile?
Drama I looking forward too
So far I really love the story and fl character. I am someone who really don't pay much attention on scandal. Whether they are good or bad, we are human who make mistakes. I am not taking side and said the person is a good person, but I feel like it's unfair for other who work hard if everyone gonna rate the drama badly because of one person mistakes. I believe we should give chance instead of judgment.Cet avis était-il utile?

Not sure if everyone else watched the same drama because what??
FL isn't really good with expressing emotions, especially romantic ones. She is a badass character when it comes to fighting and defending herself verbally, she is not your typical 'nice and takes sh*t from everyone' kind of female lead which I actually liked. But my god her interaction with the ML was just so bad. There was a scene where they were supposed to be arguing but she just looked playful and confused (or was just pretending to be clueless about why the ML was mad?). It's only in the next scene when the servants talked about 'their big fight' was how I realised it was a fight. There were so many scenes that were supposed to be sweet and them falling in love but I felt like skipping the whole time because the acting were just stiff/terrible.The storyline was all over the place, with this that and everything happening and it's so obvious that it's a low budget drama. I just couldn't watch it anymore when I missed a few days and then suddenly had 10 episodes to watch. It was ok when I had 2 eps to watch daily with nothing else to watch. It's not something I'd actually be curious to know about or care enough to watch how it ends. Definitely not rewatching.

It’s surprisingly good!
I always check the comments here before watching something new, and I saw the score was below 8. So I was not sure go give it a go! So far, I’m impressed! I’m usually not a fan of shows that go back in time, but this one was interesting and funny right from the start. Watch it—you won’t be disappointed.Cet avis était-il utile?

Repetive storyline and horrible background music
The storyline feels repetitive and unengaging. The female lead (FL) is constantly harmed, only to be saved by the second male lead (2ML), while the main male lead (ML) perpetually arrives too late. This overused plot cycle makes the series predictable and monotonous. The background music is one of the worst I've encountered in Chinese dramas. It often clashes with the scenes, completely ruining the mood. For example, in emotional moments where the actors are meant to convey sadness, the music is oddly cheerful, making the performances feel out of sync. It's as if the music director is completely tone-deaf to the tone of the scenes.
The worst performance comes from Baili Weisheng, particularly in the scene where his character discovers his mother is still alive. His reaction comes across as dumb and wooden, making an emotionally charged moment feel flat and uninspired.
