Racist

What the hell was that first episode ??? the blatant disrespect and contempt toward Africa? we know they are racist but 2022, seriously?Like the first clip was f up, but they really went and made sure to drop a random racist ass clip the whole episode.Dude dug up the second well in all Africa lmao. Glad it happend the first episode and didnt waste my time on this. And no one in the cast even questionned it, that ML really went and shot those scenes lmaoo

Wince, colonial saviorism much?

The way the portrayed everything in “Africa” was SO bad. Imagine if you were anyone of color watching that... It makes me feel extreme shame for everyone Involved. Ick, it’s like when they had slaves dance around and look marry whenever they wanted to put them up for sale on the auction block. Those are people g-dammit, not the worshiping minions you portrayed them to be! Dancing around a well. They’d likely say that I you and shake hands like other human beings. Wow. Just wow.

7.0/10 - Very good.

Addressing Africa. Let's be real. When have dramas ever been known for being politically correct? I'm not gonna elaborate on Africa. Plenty of other viewers have addressed it in their reviews. I noted the poor representation and stereotyping being done, and moved on. This isn't the worst I've seen in a drama and it won't be the last. There's no point in being stressed. Moving on.

To be honest I had no idea what to aspect. I've been out of the drama scene! Sh**ting Stars won the drawing for our drama group and one other drama. I read the synopsis and thought it looked interesting and ended up voting for Sh**ting Stars. Then I realized Lee Sung Kyung would be the ML and I grew very excited! I have slowly become a fan of Lee Sung Kyung! Right out of the gate she's very charismatic and likable as Oh Han Byul!

The writing quickly introduces Oh Han Byul and the work she does. It keeps teasing that celebrities, the fans, gossip, and everything celebrity realated is a foolish waste of time. It's pointless and doesn't matter. However, everyone is into it. Oh Han Byul's work is so stressful she's always on demand and can be called in to work at any moment. She can't date and can barely make it through a routine physical that's required for work. (Though she made it through when none of her colleagues did!)

This episode was a very solid setup. We know the work, we get to meet all the side characters and people Oh Han Byul works with. A feel for the celebrities and how their managers handle them. The newbies that are stepping into this stressful world where most interns wash out. Side stories for them already teasing viewers! Not to mention a nod to how important managers who can drive well and safely are important.

The humor is mixed in well and while I normally get annoyed with bathroom humor the colonoscopy prep was brilliant!!! All of the jokes and humor landed pretty well with me. Especially Oh Han Byul annoyance with Gong Tae Sung. As the episode slowly revealed history. History that Gong Tae Sung whispered to her before he left for Africa: "I won't let you go when I get back." And that she knows him pretty well and there's more to his personality . . . maybe a dark side. ^_-

I am so thrilled because there's a candid picture of Oh Han Byul on Gong Tae Sung's wall in Africa. Very much a nod to the super fans he has with his image in their rooms! Not to mention what I think is a college picture under Oh Han Byul's couch!!! I love it when it's clear that the male lead is the one interested in the female lead. Normally those kinds of dramas go very well for me! >_<

Overall this is definitely one of the better episode ones I have watched! I love the setup, the world is fun and I love that a manager of a celebrity is a lead! It's rare. So far the writing is strong and clear, and the cast is killing it! The episode flows well and ties in so well at the end I gave a mini applaud to it!

Nah

Not at all for me, Africa is a continent not a country. I agree with all of the other reviews, have some respect for different countries!! Dropped

Someone give them a map please

I thought the whole Africa thing was going to be a satire of celebrities doing charity but nope it was suppose to be a heartwarming moment instead of the highly embarrassing and dated take it turn out to be, how hard it was for them just to have the main guy travel to some rural place in Korea? Could have save them the "look is Africa, animals and is just like a little town or whatever, isn't he soooo nice to them?cute~♡"
Sungkyung was good but might just watch a supercut of her scenes later when this end like I did with Cheese in the Trap.

Why did they present Africa like that and it’s a continent not a country. It’s nice to see how a company is handling with celebrity’s scandals or rumors.

A PROTAGONISTA

PRIMEIRO EPISÓDIO MUITO BOM, GOSTEI MUITO DO PROTA, GOSTEI DO FATO DE ELES JÁ SE CONHECEREM E DE ELE NÃO SER ESNOBE E SIM ALGUÉM HUMILDE E QUE SE IMPORTA COM OS OUTROS. QUERO VER SE O CASAL TEM QUÍMICA POIS NÃO TIVERAM CENAS DOS DOIS JUNTOS NESSE EPISÓDIO EXCETO PELO FINAL , MAS SINTO QUE SIM, QUE ELES TEM QUÍMICA.
