The first episode got me totally hooked. It combines everything I'm looking for in a show. First of all: I don't wanna be that person..but geez, these visuals! ? they are all so hot, lmao. But it's also exciting and I have already an emotional connection to the show T_T I had no problems to follow the plot so far because after reading the synopsis, everything I saw is very clear.
It's definitely an interesting choice to start with the scene 4 years later, because it gives a whole different perspective for emotions on this show.
Also the second couple shows off some great chemistry and I'm so excited to see more of them! The first couple seem to have personalities, that are my favorite ? I love this combination of a teasy, rougher type and a cute, pure guy who doesn't show affection at first. Also the second couple.. one is totally caring and protective and the other one seems more..clumsy and carefree? He definitely gives of more "childish" vibes. Or like a brat. Oh, I think that's fitting! Since English isn't my first language I sometimes have a hard time to put my thoughts into words. ? Definitely kinda cheeky and sharing the same "I don't show you what I really feel to protect my feelings" vibe like the student from the first couple. :D Hella curious how it will all develop and how they act when they see each other 4 years later, but also how the situation got this worse at all, so why does he have to go to jail etc? Aaaah, I can see my emotions trembling already. Even the intro with all the scenes from the show got me so interested, because it seems like there happens some wild sh*t. But geeeez, I'm already so impressed by the chemistry, the tension, the little nagging. Love iiiiit. I'm a sucker for all of this. ? The tension, the humour, the personalities. 10/10.
Normally I don't start shows that are still airing, but I couldn't wait any longer and it was definitely the right decision. ?? Eddie is definitely some cutie pie and I'm already relieved that, as far as the drama shows, he kept Zong Yi some company lmao. They have a bunch of interesting characters already and I'm so ready for it. ? oh, and Ze Rui being a gangster, but smart af? AAAAH. So hot.

The first episode starts with a scene from the future. Considering that Bai Zongyi is still an aspiring med student, I doubt he came out of prison and still be an exemplary student. After we're introduced to a loud character, Ai Di, and his possible (boy)friend, the episode takes us to the present. Present Zongyi is a hardworking student who lives alone and works shifts at a shop. One day, on his way home, he stumbled upon a badly injured man, Fan Zerui, who put him in a tight spot after putting Zongyi's fingerprint on the knife his perpetrator used on him. Zongyi had no choice but to take care of Zerui and listen to his demands. Zerui is a gang member of the person in the opening scene who came out of prison with Zongyi, Ai Di, who I think is the leader of the gang. Zongyi later found out Zerui was a star student when he helped him solve his math problem. In exchange for strawberry chiffon cake, Zerui who is still in recovery, is willing to help Zongyi with his studies. I'm curious to know what led Zerui to get involved in this mess. Far from Zongyi's small home, Zhang Teng, an enemy, committed a murder. Due to the Wattpad-ish feeling I'm getting from this series, I have a strong feeling that Zongyi will be Zhang Teng's target in the future. I think this drama will focus on Ai Di and Chen Yi's relationship at some point. So far, I'm only interested in the development between Zongyi and Zerui, so I won't be looking forward to the romance between Ai Di and Chen Yi.

Sejujurnya pada awal series ini rilis, saya agak kecewa karena pemain utama dari series ini berganti. Sejak trailer pertamanya di tahun 2021 lalu ; saya fikir series ini akan kehilangan cemistry. Alih-alih berfikiran seperti itu, saya kemudian mencoba untuk menonton satu episode dari series ini ; setelahnya? Saya benar-benar kaget ternyata series ini ternyata di luar ekspektasi. Walaupun tidak diperankan oleh pemain yang sama seperti sebelumnya, namun aktor baru ini mampu dalam menampilkan sikap-sikap dan karakter serta romansa dari aktor sebelumnya. Keren!, ada beberapa scene yang sangat relevan dengan trailer pertamanya, saya fikir : ternyata series ini sudah cukup bagus dan terterima dengan baik. Dari segi dialog, mudah difahami ya. Alurnya jelas walaupun jenisnya alur mundur (beberapa scene) ; dari segi pencahayaan sudah cukup bagus ya mengingatkan saya pada series "red balloon" dan rangkaian series history terutama history 3 crossing the line dan history 4 Close to You. Perwatakan menurutku sudah terterima dan relevan seperti trailer awal di tahun 2021. Kosep ceritanya menarik, latar kehidupannya juga menarik. Satu hal yang kurang begitu make sense adalah ; mungkin series ini terlihat seperti series yang serius, namun entah kenapa di beberapa scene serius saya malah tertawa terbahak-bahak. Entah, mungkin beberapa pemain memang nostalgia di masa lalu seperti main-role dari History 3 make day count yang tiba-tiba ada di sini, dan second main couple yang menggemaskan tapi tetap berperan menjadi gangster, saya akan melanjutkan episode 2 series ini.

No idea what’s happening. But something is telling me it’s a time skip backwards. It’s some gangster shut which I love, so I think this will be cool and fun to watch. Not a whole lot to say because I’m low key confused. Okay bye!
