S2 Review

Just finished this season, Loved it until the last episode which is obviously a prequel to S3, It spoilt the entire S2 by just watching those last 5 minutes.... besides that I loved it, especially the episode when Piyoung & Yushin sit and talk it over and he comes up with every excuse under the sun as to why he had an affair. I didn't like the Ghost/Spirit storyline, that was ridiculous for a modern drama. I also didn't like the imagination scenes, didn't suit the drama at all. The acting by all actors was amazing.
The dress sense & style was also a 10/10, especially Piyoung's outfits. Makeup on the Males were all overdone, close ups was distracting.
I enjoyed this season more than Season 1, Its a Drama that is for mature viewers, you have to relate to the characters and their situations to fully enjoy it.

Can't wait for season 3

This is becoming interesting.
I am sure the end let people kind of confused.
It is a slow paced drama in which people gradually get to understand the reason, the purpose of some people or situations.
I think that the screenwriter is more subtle than one can thing and one has to take the time to get into this drama.

I personally loved this drama from season one to this one and I cant' wait to see the third one.
There were some moments that were memorable and I was laughing hard but also, when one watches clearly, there are situations a lot of us know and questions nobody asks voice raised but that are very present. It made me think a lot and put myself in some shoes in order to see how it feels...

All the mystery around some people are for a reason and we are slowly but surely going to get it.

Kudos to the Mother In-law ?

Anyway, to be continued.

MIRAGE

This drama is like a toy xD
Annoying but a bit of entertainment.
It's a NETFLIX money-making machine with a low budget surpassing the viewership.
A 100 episode melodrama turned into 2 seasons with 16 episodes each.

Infidelity is an interesting concept and you can't help but watch it thinking the revenge concept will come into play but it doesn't.
Any viewer will continue to watch this hoping things will change but they don't which is exactly what happens.
It fulfils the producer as it gets viewership as well as

Moreover, the writer cleverly stretches the plot and nothing happens.
It's total BULLISH**t at this point.
Totally disappointed with the 2nd season except episode 11, it was a good episode.

PS: I only watched this since Netflix produced it otherwise I wouldn't have. Seems like you can't Netflix these days on such things either.

A VAST IMPROVEMENT ON SEASON 1

Since I didn’t enjoy Season 1 at all (I gave it an overall 3.5 with a 1.5 re-watch value), I was going to give this whole show and its second season a wide berth. BUT I’m actually glad I didn’t, because Love (ft. Marriage and Divorce) seems to have finally come into its own in Season 2. It’s a satire that mocks our modern-day conceptions of love, marriage and divorce in a world where real-life is Instagram photo-shopped within an inch of its life that the lines between reality and fantasy are now blurred. We no longer know what’s real, what’s imagined (but not impossible), and what is pure fantasy. So thanks to the C21st digital age, when it comes to romantic love, we speak of meeting “the One” or “our soulmate” whose is “our BFFs”; we have photo-shopped images of the perfect married life and the immaculate family in-tow; celebrity couples use the media to manipulate and spin a story about their imperfect personal lives; the aging couple growing old gracelessly, desperately holding off the ravishes of old age through cosmetic surgeries; and then there is the infamous “conscious uncoupling” scenario of divorced life. The unadulterated practical mundane realities of modern romantic relationships are summarily thrown out of the window. And I think it is this picture of modern romance that the writer takes a vicious and visceral axe to. And I loved it.

I’ll stand by my original feelings about this show re: Season 1. It was still flawed in my view in terms of structure, editing and pacing (and those flaws are still present in this current season), but there were nevertheless hints of it satirising our modern expectations of married life in Season 1, though its flaws tended to camouflage it. For instance, right from the get-go, the three wives set the stage for what is to come: they’ve such unrealistic views of what makes a good marriage that is based on marital fidelity, it’s only a matter of time for those views to be tested. We also have the three woman representing three types of wives: the image-driven celebrity wife made up with an ironically ridiculous Raccoon-eye get-up; the Stepford wife who, haunted by a divorce-driven childhood, takes up Proverbs 31 as her blueprint of living out the perfect noble wife; and finally the woman who sacrificed her life, inheritance and own wealthy family for an impoverished man, she ended up a 50-year-old Martyred Doormat on the altar of the traditional view of what is believed makes for the ‘perfect’ wife. And of course, there are the various reasons why a husband might stray: some of them coming from quite tragic yet still hurtful circumstances (the 50 year old professor, who having not being the main breadwinner, affects his feelings of the kind of man he traditionally believes a husband should be/ought to have been); others are purely ridiculous and stupid (the 40-year-old who has it all but for that apple as he plays Adam to Ah Mi’s tempting Eve); and yet others are due to lack of communication and unrealistic expectations from one another (the career-driven 30 year-olds who have to contend with the modern-day dilemma, stresses and struggles of having a career, maintaining a marriage, and raising children). So in this drama we have different ideas of what constitutes the ‘perfect’ marriage through the POV of four different generations over four ages: the 30 year olds, the 40 year olds, the 50 year olds and the 60s.

To its credit (at least for me), the drama comes into its own in Season 2, yet again (with its Season 1 flaws still intact) it does take its time getting there, I think. But there again, maybe that is the whole point. Just as it aims to satirise modern-day romantic expectations of an Instagram image-conscious world, it also seeks to up- end those same expectations its audience may unconsciously hold in itself. Given time, we soon discover that the joke is on us as much as it is on the characters, once we realise that this drama is not going to give us a rose-tinted view. Married life (featuring love) is messy, sometimes painful, and at times mundane. It’s hard-work, requiring patience, honesty, understanding, compromise and communication. It means being practical and realistic. It demands that we don’t take our spouses for granted. Our expectations change over a course of a married life or even within a couple of years into it. Tragically, affairs and divorce are often the last resort when it all becomes too much for some. But for this drama at least, the key is not to come to it with any expectation of a straight-forward dramatic treatment on infidelity, in which the audience is looking for revenge and retribution against the adulterous husbands and justice for their betrayed wives, which has the hallmark of a 1990s mind-set if I'm honest. Given the modern depiction to varying degrees of strong independently-minded women, with careers of their own, not even the wronged wives are looking for that, because that's just too easy for men while the women still lose out. And that’s progress of a sort, surely. So no, this was never going to be a straight-forward realist drama but a satirical one that makes fun of the whole idea of the perfect romance, love and marriage set-up while casting a disapproving eye on the way it is often handled.

Drama-filled, but not very fulfulling

If you don't really have time to watch every drama that's coming out and you're considering picking one or two to watch, I def wouldn't recommend this one just isn't worth your time. If you have free time though, sure go for it. If you're willing to invest over 32+ hours in a drama filled w cheating, go for it.

The plotline's pretty unique imo considering the fact that the writers came up w 3 different cheating scenarios for the 3 main couples. I like how they're all connected by their workplace. If you're wondering, yes you MUST watch season 1 to even understand what's going on as the plotline just continues off of the first season. It's alot of investment.

Love (featuring Marriage and Divorce) 2 (2021) - this drama's pacing is not really it, it's too slow. Worst is that the ending is a cliffhanger. What a joke. I thought it would end by this season but nah they really did want a season 3.

I really don't like the ghost part, it's totally not necessary at all in the drama, why did it have to be there? it's nonsense. Still, the drama have some good parts like the breakdown of Ga Bin.

I was not really prepared with the ending. I would still watch the season 3 since I don't like myself to keep hanging with an ending like that.

I always have to finish what I have started!

This season I find more entertaining because I just wanted to all the cheaters get what they deserved, I felt the pain of those betrayed women! That was brutal! The amount of time I was frustrated with the behavior of some of these women and men, oof, it had me anxious most of the time. The women because first there is no justifying cheating, there is not and the one to blame is not the one being cheated on BUT the cheater. It does not matter if you don't wear make up or fancy clothes, your partner, the one that loves you, supposed to talk to you and let you know how they feel and if things cannot be fixed well then at least you honestly tried not to cheat, and they use all the excuses of the world to justify your cheating, and women on this drama though that the men cheat because you are not "treating" yourself HA!

The men, OMG don't even get me started, two of them boring of their wives for the most stupid reasons (you’ll see) and the other one he is just tired of her but does not leave her due to his parents and whatnot. Seriously, very frustrating but a true story cause this happens a lot only privately and that is just sad.

Finally, the ending left me confused, so I am looking forward to watching the third season and see what is actually happening.

Wow wow wow outrageous scenes hahaha watch for entertainment

This is the funniest kdrama, I was laughing my head off and I have to write a review . I have seen low ratings due to criticism on the writing ……but for me, the writing is so over the top , it’s genius…..and it’s purely entertainment. When I watch I wanna be entertained and you wanna feel good, this drama did that to me….I laughed hard on all the characters….even when it’s supposed to be crying scene….the scene of the funeral was so hilarious….I’ll give this drama all the awards if I can especially the imagination of the writer. Best actors , all of them …. I love the ghost , who would have thought putting a ghost in the middle of an adulterous story. Those giving this drama low score doesn’t know what is real art of story telling. All my thumbs are up. I really want more episodes….still few episodes left and I’m already wishing another season.
