Why cast Wu Lei as the male lead?
I love the beautiful series and have rewatched many episodes alreadyBUT >> Huge Casting Mistake of the main Male Lead.
I noticed Wu Lei in Whirlwind Girl and was happy to learn that he was starring in the popular Love like the galaxy.
Unfortunately, he was not ready for a role of this calibre. His acting range is too narrow for the moment.
Lei fails at performing the intense stares justified by his role as lover and slaying commander.
His stares are bad and even spoil the kissing scenes. Painful.
I am the only one who fast forwarded his intense stares ?
Lei's head looks ridiculously small because of the huge clothes and armour put on him.
It makes him look like a puppet.
His face was made to look longer (by opening his jaw). Ridiculous...
It distracted me throughout the drama.
It is unfair to Zhao Lu Si, the main actress. It could have been the best drama couple ever.
It is my first time watching Zhao Lu Si at work. I am looking forward to watching more of her works.
Great production / amazing music. Is there an award for the best opening credits? Magnificent visuals.
Loved the actresses playing Shao Shang's mother (Zeng Li) and QiQi (Zhang Yue).

Give it a try!
I'm always not a big fan of a slow burn romance. That's why I've been sticking to xian xia dramas. I've try watching The Story of Minglan and couldn't really keep up with it. A friend of mine then recommended Love Like the Galaxy to me. I was skeptical at first because it was a slow burn romance. I've watched 4 episodes and thought that the story was too slow and nothing has happened except seeing FL and her family's problems. I was going to dropped it at first but then I've decided to at least give it another 3-4 more episodes. I continue and my goodness, I can't stop watching. Once you pass episodes 4 and 5, that's when the good stuff starts coming in. You just want to see more every time each episodes ended. The preview trailers are the worst. Each time a trailer comes out, it just makes you so eager to see the next episodes. And the male protagonist, he has such beautiful eyes when he gaze at the female protagonist. This is the very first slow burn drama that I've actually like and enjoy watching and willing to wait for. For those who are knew and is wondering if it's worth your time, I'd see give it a try. Everyone has their own taste in dramas so whether you like it or not is up to you. I'm really glad that I've give this drama a shot. Can't wait to see the next episodes! Thank you to whoever is reading this review. Happy dramas!Cet avis était-il utile?
The best Chinese historical drama.
Its an epic and a classic, the best of the best. Do watch it; Ling Buyi and Shaoshang will take you into their world. A great drama, its worth the watch. 🥰. I love the cinematography, the angles of the scenes, the music insync with the parlor of emotions, the real and relatable unique characters; plus point the co-relation of different background stories that give essence to the aura of the original plot. Kudos to the Male lead & Female lead for giving us a love story that is true to the character and for the believable anamoly of a relationship.Cet avis était-il utile?
A breath of fresh air and a highly-recommended period drama.
This is the second Chinese drama that I didn't drop. The production is definitely high budgeted. Those camera angles and visuals are exquisite. The background music is fitting to the scenes as well. The acting of the leads are always on point. I didn't expect much on the supporting characters, but it surprised me a lot. From the annoying grandmother to the funny but loving emperor. All the casts has been thought through. The story/plot is quite slow burn but it was essential enough for the growth of each character especially to the female lead. I love the female lead's personality, she always wins in any argument. Everyone thinks that she's an idiot who lacks manners, but she's definitely the smartest. I love the she's not even swayed by other people's judgements on her, even on the Male lead's good looks. The male lead has given justice to his character as a fierce and ruthless general. He is fearsome to other people, but soft-hearted to the female lead. I like how his voice changes most especially when he's in front of the female lead. One of the many things that I love about this drama is truly the chemistry between the leads. Their expressions are so natural. Seems like they don't have to try so hard just to look in love. Overall, this is a highly-recommended romance period drama.Cet avis était-il utile?

Review for Part 1 @ 2
This drama is a GREAT historical production that should not have been titled “Love Like The Galaxy” because their love was not only slow burned, but also full of secrets, lack of confidence, misunderstandings, and, the most tedious part of this drama, Shao Shang’s cold attitude and distrust toward Zi Sheng. How a great love cannot understand Zi Sheng’s emotional pain, turmoil, and commitment?Having said that, Zhao Lusi (Shao Shang) and Leo Wu (Zi Sheng) did an excellent job portraying their characters and, although their romantic chemistry was not very amorous, the best intimate interaction in the whole drama happened without an unnecessary awkward kiss in episode 36, really beautiful and heartwarming! The rest of the cast also did a wonderful job bringing their characters to life.
This drama is heavy on revenge plots, palace antics, familial interactions, truehearted friendship, occasional comedic scenes to lighten the darker tones, great action scenes, and amazing cinematography and music.
Overall, this is a magnificent drama that is worth watching. Enjoy it!

"Love like the Galaxy" is a highly anticipated historical drama in 2022 (my second most anticipated after "Who Rules the World") since we have two very popular young actors, Wu Lei and Zhao LuSi. Personally, I think Wu Lei and Zhao LuSi are a much better match than Zhao LuSi + Yang Yang or Wu Lei + Dilraba. Probably because they are of similar age and give off a young love vibe (instead of siblings). This family drama also reminded me a little of "The Story of Ming Lan" but a less serious version. I like the fact that the drama focuses on different relationships and not just romantic relationships.
However, as a romance lover, I was looking forward to the main couple's romantic journey. I am a little disappointed as it took them a very long time to meet and for us to see any sort of romantic development. In Part 1, our female lead, Cheng Shao Shang (CSS) attracted the attention of three young men. We see the sweet, young, puppy love between CSS and Lou Yao. Lou Yao is cute and all, but really just seems like a good buddy to hang out with. He will never be on equal footing with CSS. CSS picks him probably because she can walk all over him and can do whatever she wants (aka freedom!). Yuan Shen is the petty high school kid who likes to pester the girl that he likes. I also don't feel any real chemistry between CSS and Yuan Shen. I usually enjoy bickering between leads but not much here (well, he's technically not the male lead). We finally see CSS and Ling Bu Yi (LBY) together after about 10 episodes. That is one sloooww start of a romance. Unfortunately, scenes with the two of them together are far and between. For me, there isn't enough to justify LBY's love for CSS and the pacing of their story seems off. However, I expect to feel very differently in Part 2 and I am anticipating a lot of heartaches, longing and chemistry *fingers crossed*
A big part of the drama focuses on CSS's relationship with her mother. Although I understand where her mother is coming from, and the guilt she's feeling inside, it's really hard to see CSS not getting the affection from her mother. Mom is supposedly very smart. Why can't she see that the way she's treating CSS is not the right way to go? She's seen the relationship between CSS and her aunt, and should know that CSS is smart and sweet. Why is mom being so dumb here? I think we all know that being constantly compared to someone else hurts ones pride and self-confidence, esp. when your mother is the culprit. There are a few other annoying characters in this drama. Luckily, to me, they have not reached my boiling point yet, and I still find them to be tolerable since they also provide comedic relief, e.g. all those bitchy women and princesses.
My favorite character is Qi Qi, played by Zhang Yue. Qi Qi is so fun and cool, and I like her style. She doesn't care what you think of her nor take BS from anyone. She's the perfect BFF for CSS. I love it whenever she's there for CSS and protecting her from the other petty and bitchy ladies. There are many comedic moments throughout the drama. They are funny and yet not over-the-top. The humor doesn't distract from the main story or the feel of the drama. I hope this type of humor continues in Part 2 and it doesn't turn into a melodrama.
Zhao Lu Si does shine in "Love like the Galaxy", and she looks beautiful. Her character is smart and scheming and provided enough material to showcase her acting skills. On the other hand, Wu Lei has a little less to work with in Part 1. He looks great as the general but I wanted to see more of him, not just the stoic side. I do see glimpses of a different LBY towards the end. I love the awkward adorableness in the last couple episodes and look forward to seeing more in Part 2. One of my favorite parts of this drama is the confrontation between the leads in ep 27. I've been waiting for this. I want them to talk, to argue, to openly tell each other how they feel.
The production value seems pretty good. I believe this is a S+ production from Tencent. I don't remember any of the songs. That could mean they are not memorable or they are not overplayed, or both. Although the cinematography did not "wow" me, I do like the costumes, hairstyles, accessories, sets and props. Nothing looks flimsy or cheap, except for those big rocks they used for training in the Shang household. Those rocks look fake!
Part 1 is a good start to setup for the rest of the drama. I look forward to Part 2 and expect to like it even more.

a bunch of short clip?
maybe those who feel this drama is good, just because of the romance, those who are satisfied with a little romance , so if someone gives a bad rating they will be judged, maybe there are some scenes that make me touched, and sometimes comedy but most of them feel very lame and the romance sometimes is weirdbad editing and bad scene viewing, jumping scene(not complete showing the useful scene, skip and skip)
from the beginning of these 56 episodes, can this be called a drama? I think this is a bunch of short,,, if in Kdrama it's called "special episodes"
why?
since the beginning of the drama, every time they want to do an action, there is see no action, only showing the result
I've never read the novel, but I'm sure the novel has alot of seasons, but in my opinion the scriptwriter is not good at choosing and sorting out what scenes are important so that from the beginning to the end the drama only show a short part and then proceeds to other scenes, too many unnecessary scenes. makes the first 22 episodes feel very long and unimportant,, in part 2, I thought it was getting better, but it didn't, the same misunderstanding happen again and again, in the first 8 episodes there had been about 3/4 times the argue between FL & ML,, character of FL which in part 1 really like, makes me hate it
they focus too much on the FL&ML scene so that they forget about other SUPPORT COUPLES, while the FL&ML romance is very long & very slow burning (FL & ML love story only starts at the end of part 1, and even in part still in the stage FL not have good feeling for ML) and makes the other couple not have enough scenes, and support couples together are very unreasonable, there is no obvious romance between them but directly together, waste of using cast, even though 56 episodes is enough to make the story very very clear plot and help some of the support cast develop the acting for newbie
the unstable voice made me keep adjusting the volume of the drama while watching, because there was no dubbing, when the cast spoke their mouths seemed to be gargling, if there were no Chinese subtitles maybe I really didn't know what they were talking about ,especially the words and language they use very rarely, even though I know chinese, still feels very unfamiliar
a crazy part like short clip and ridiculous scene (just a part, because too much)
1. ep 12, the medic said the arrow's head only appeared slightly on the surface of the body, if you want to take the arrow out, you have to cut the wound, but the medic is not good at sewing, shaoshang use a string, does it make sense? Even hard objects are difficult to put into a wound, but a string?, even though it is the strongest string, its call strong, because not easily broken by sharp objects, and the arrow's head has a sharp side, pulling the arrowhead with a string is like slicing a wound! does this action not need to stitch the wound?
2. ep 15 ,why they suddenly talking about huangpuyi?when huangpuyi send the cart for 3rd aunt?
3. suddenly shaoshang's father was said to be rebellious, during episode 46 I thought there was a scene helping his father, but it's been 5 days, are you serious?!
4. ep 44, shaoshang went tongniu to save her father, and to meet someone in prison, she intentionally stole 2 bread, how she sure that she is who is just a petty thief that stole bread, will be locked up together with important criminals?
5. little yue masquis said , miasma is not toxic, but why do the pengukun still get side effects? and suffering asthma?

Masterpiece drama!♥︎
I watched it when this drama was on-going and for the first time I bought the fast track because I couldn't wait to see the ending!!Ling Buyi, an orphan boy because his parent died during the war since he was a child, lived in misery but was lucky to be adopted by the emperor and empress so he became a general at a young age. His character is very hard, cold, and doesn't think about other people, but then changes when he meets a beautiful teenage girl, Cheng Shaoshang.
Cheng Shaoshang, a smart girl whose parents left for war and only lives with her evil grandmother and aunt so she has to find a way to survive every day. Her behavior was very rude, messy, and unethical because she had never been taught since childhood.
This drama is divided into 2 parts and this part does not show too many problems, it reveals more about the family life of Cheng Shaoshang, Ling Buyi and also the second leads, Yuan Shanjian and Lou Yao.
This drama is really very good, the cinematography is beautiful, their chemistry are extraordinary, and there are lots of life lessons to be learned.
I have rewatched this drama countless times, it has become one of my favorite costume dramas. Congratulations to Director Fei, Zhao Lusi, Wulei, and the entire love like the galaxy team for creating truly masterpiece drama!─── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ──

definitely worth watching
I honestly could watch it several times and never get bored , everything is amazing the characters, the plot , the humor , rich tapestry of politics but not in a boring way , Incredible storyline and battles , the action scenes are very well directed and the OSTs are extremely great too .the first season might be a bit slow but in the second season we get such a fast paced turn of events and i think this is the strongest point of the show , the writer took their time and they developed both story arcs and characters arcs so when stuffs happen , you'll be hooked.
All the actors own their roles exhibiting superior craft with expressions alone . another main feature that distinguishes Love Like The Galaxy is its character development .
- the FL is shown to be stubborn and immature girl in the beginning but as the drama progresses she develops into a mature person with a good control over her emotions .
- the ML went from a person who doesn't embody love and caring to a man who'll do everything for the woman of his life , but i'm glad they didn't change his dominant and ruthless personality after he fell in love because it's what make him the unique general Ling buyi .
The tension and chemistry between the main couple is insane too .
the greatest Political Historical Cdrama of all time .

Love like the Galaxy - Best Chinese Drama
I honestly love the casts, director, and the storyline! This Chinese drama does not heavily focus on romance which I loved. However, when it does it is very sweet, intense, and awe. Some drama heavily focuses on romance of the FL and ML but not the actual plot of it. I suggest watching this drama and play attention to the details of the story. There's a lot of aha moments and very funny scenes. The FL and the ML aren't the only ones that have character development but side characters also. It's not a typical kind of drama where it is too dramatic all the time. I especially love all the casts, everyone did their parts so good. The acting is so real for each characters. I became a fan of the FL and ML. LOVE THEM!! I wish for more upcoming drama with these two actor and actress. Now, I'm just sad that it's over.
I love to thank all the casts, director, and team for such a wonderful and beautiful drama. Please do more drama with these two leads and the side characters!!

One of the best series I've seen so far...
Strong plot, epic love story, tear-jerking moments, and superb story-telling. This is the kind of drama many audiences would get hooked, with it's fascinating and deep elements. Wu Lei took his acting into greater heights by displaying his role well as the revenge-stricken general. Zhao Lu Si, as usual, can step into any character she plays. I love it whenever the male character shows deep love to his girl, even just by the look in his eyes. He doesn't need to get so mushy, his gaze and actions says it all. It's really worth the wait and the 56 episodes did it justice. I wish they could've spared a few more scenes showing the couple getting married at last and having kids on their own.Cet avis était-il utile?
