Good simple fluffy romcom

Fluffy romance between a sweet, bubbly female lead and a good looking male lead. The second couple is adorable as is the sismance between female lead and second female lead (Xiaobu). Miss Chai’s advice is hilarious and practical at the same time
and her trio with Xiaoqi and Xiaobu is lovely.

If you have watched season 1:
Did the story absolutely need a season 2 ? No, the story was finished well enough in Season 1 even if it was rushed but the couple was so cute and the chemistry so infectious that it did warrant a second season of just the Male lead and female lead sharing screen space inhabiting their much loved characters.

[Spoilers ahead]

Cons:
1- I absolutely loved season 1. So if you did too and want the story to continue, you will be disappointed. The setting is different (The FL landed a whole year before season 1). So, to accommodate for some of the supporting actors not being available, some of the sets not being available etc. they changed the restaurant that Miss Chai owns from “An Lian”, a western restaurant to “Chai”, a milk tea /desert restaurant. They also changed the male lead’s residence(that suited his personality in season 1) and workplace though it still has the same core business.

They also changed the male lead’s father and assistant. The personality change for the male lead is a little extreme who was cold with a warm heart contradictory to his name (Fang Leng literally means cold wind) in season 1. The oblivious female lead to the obviously in love male lead made the first part of season 1 entertaining. The male lead’s father also had similar personality traits and loved and protected his son without showing it outwardly in season 1. Here he is just a little reserved.

The setting changes are somewhat plausible considering a different time but the personality changes are a little jarring.

2- The romance part was better developed in season 1 and it was completely believable and palpable. Here, it seems just a little forced.

3- The relationship between Fang lie and Xiaoqi (before he fell for her) was one of the best parts of season 1. They could have added more friendship scenes between them in season 2.

4- Jiang Shiyi even though he was needed to break from the sugary romance and create some conflict. He did redeem himself in the end.

5 - There could be more fantasy/supernatural elements and it would have been great to see how aliens/advanced robots adjust to life on earth.

6- Lots of chasing scenes: First Female lead chases male lead for hormones. Then, male lead chases female lead when he realised he loves her. Then, female lead is memory wiped(for a second time!) and male lead chases her again. At least three episodes are devoted to them chasing each other.

7- There is somewhere a version of Fang Leng waiting for his beloved wife, Xiaoqi and that is heart breaking especially since he already spent 2 years pining for her in season 1. [I am choosing to believe the avengers endgame theory of time travel where travelling to past means the past is the new future and the erstwhile future from where you have travelled is your new past. So, the same Fang Leng got to have his future with Xiaoqi.]

8- The ost of season 1 was better imo.

Pros:
1- More romantic, lovey dovey, cute scenes. More skinship (Female lead touches male lead’s pecs at the drop of a hat)

2- Introduction of human form of Xiaobu. The second couple is cute. The sismance between her and Xiaoqi was adorable as well.

3- The new assistant Han is more of a shipper of the main couple than the audience and he is charming and funny. (I would buy his book and his love triangle with Candy and Shiyi will be hilarious)

4- Less rain induced heterosexual amnesia of the male lead and less of the really annoying female love rival.

A must watch show. For me this season is more entertaining than 1st one. I love the cast and all couples. This time fang leng did all the thing which he didn't do in season 1. I love this cute open flirt fang leng more than the bossy president fang leng.
Female lead look more cute and beautiful that 1st one. This time fang Li got a new heroin and his own love story and problems.
Can't we get season 3 of this beautiful show because only 30 episodes are not enough for me. We definitely deserve 3rd season and fang leng and alien gf story after marrige. Because it's not easy to live with an alien. In their daily life they will get many funny situations and they have to deal with them.

Sleep destroyer

This drama destroying my sleep
I can't stop myself from watching this drama episode to episode until midnight and I am not regretting it. I have waited for 3 years for this drama. MY first asian drama other than my own language is chinese drama that is MY GIRLFRIEND IS AN ALIEN.I loved it. Now Its season 2. I had log in in my drama list especially to write reviews about this drama only after watching chinese dramas till 3 years later. This drama is very romantic and lovely. Iam a huge fan of Bie hsu and wang peng. This pair is cute and their jealousy moments are awesome. In first season i cried a lot in last episode with Bie crying scenes. Iam now watching 15th episode and continuing another.

This cdrama is 100 percent beautiful! The story, character, cast and cinematography is insanely amazing. I'll definitely gonna rewatch this season and recommend it. I hope we have season three soon I love to see them all together, I am also looking forward to the next happenings of their journey. xiaobu and xiaoqi is so cute and also the fang brothers are pretty handsome, hope to see their babies. I already don't know what else to say but yeah I can't submit my review because it's too short it said, but I still want to submit it so gonna add more, it's all because I want this to reach the director and give us the season three this year or maybe next year 2024.

Just my opinion (can't replace season 1)

it's been 2years S2 came out now only i watched this season 2. Over all this season is good .We get to see more cute fluffy ,intimate scene between that leads in this season. And 2nd lead couples
MGSAA season 1 is my first cdrama I've watched in 2019 but this season can't overcome 1st season. The 1st part or the S1 is about super cute and childish xiaoqi and then ML fall for FL they get closer suddenly jiang xue delete fang leng memory then all over again he fall for xiaoqi AGAINNNN. When i watched season 1 i felt pain in my heart and felt what's gonna happen next and how they over come this struggle this time a lot of things. whenever fang leng misunderstand xiaoqi and hurt and then made up with each other. when have to choose between xiaoqi and his career and they both gave up everything for each other was heart-wrenching . and his step mother causing trouble to him and xiaoqi stoop up for him and he misunderstand that all broke my heart and wanting to watch over and over again
THAT'S WHAT I LIKED ABOUT SEASON 1 AND IT CAN NEVER REPLACED BY ANOTHER SERIES AND CAN'T FORGET THE SEASON 1
IN season 2 i don't feel that much urge to watch and didn't full fill my expectation. but still s2 was nice and great personally liked fang lie's story and father and son reconcile and shi yi's sacrifice
And i still miss season one that office ,house ,anlian western restaurant the pain i felt watching season and the music in season no series can ever match the season .

To be honest I started season 2 only because I wanted to see their wedding. I knew it wasn't going to be as simple as I thought it would be. However, the drama started off with so so much comedy that I found myself watching one episode after another.
Both the main lead's personality stayed the same. There was a complete balance between their sweet, sad, funny and fluffy moments. In the beginning when the female lead was continuously chasing the male lead, I felt sorry and angry for her. However she lost her memory and became so unemotional, I was happy. Fang Leng finally understood what it was like to be rejected again and again and to be given the cold shoulder.
I know that even if Fang Leng didn't get his memories back, he loves Xiao Chi the same and even more but I kind of wish that instead of Xiao Chi just showing Fang Leng the memories, his memories of their past came back just like Xiao Chi's did because there will always be a small regret in my heart that he didn't remember their past.
The second main lead was just as funny and cute. Honestly they completed the remaining elements you need in a drama to make it good.
One thing I love the most about season 2 is that they didn't turn the second male lead into a total bad guy. They kept him until the end and showed that he was still part of their life. Shi Yi didn't even know himself how much he loved Xiao Chi and he did so much for her. He deserved the good ending he got.
I am actually so upset it's over now since we were all waiting for season 2 so eagerly. I loved My Girlfriend is an Alien 2.

I accidentally skipped season 1

Yeah, I didn't realize until for a good 20 or 30 minutes into the 1st eps lmao. I wanted to stop watching season 2 to watch S1 but it was too late since the whole plot in s1 was basically summarized in the first half of the episode. I continued watching anyway and I didnt expect it was going to be this good. I always underestimate Chinese drama because most of the previous Chinese dramas I watched before are 5/10. But this drama is different, much different. The actors/actresses suit their roles really good. The conflicts are there but not so heavy. Additionally there are another side couples that kept me away from boredom. It turns out skipping S1 doesn't really matter because S2 felt like a separate series from S1, 10/10 worth rewatching.

Season 1 & 2 super satisfied ako lalo na sa ending lalo na ang actings nila

Super satisfied ako sa ending ng season 2 hehe. Season 1at 2 parehong maganda. Pero mas nakakaiyak season 2. While same na sobrang nakakatawa ang both season 1at 2. Buti pinanood ko to Season 1 and Season 2 sobrang nagustuhan ko.
-I Love this drama nakakilig na nkkatawa sobra hahaha.
-Fang Lie, turtle Xiaobu, FangLeng, & Xiaoqi so funny,innocent, and witty haha
-Ganda ng drama nato Di nakakasawa ulit ulitin panoorin
-Sobrang nakakatawa pinanggawa ni Xiaoqi at Xiaobu hahaha
-Pati yung kontrang nanay at uncle nakakatwa haha
-Ganda ng natural chemistry ng main leads pati na second lead Fang Lie and Xiaobu ang cute cute, plus andun sina doc at sis chai
-Shipper na shipper si assisstant han ng Season 1 at Season 2. I like the assisstant Han ng season 1 pero mas nakakatawa ang assisstant Han ng season2 hehe
