Recruited by the Professor for a job of unprecedented proportions, eight thieves storm the Unified Korea Mint. Police pull together a task force. (Source: Netflix)
I think the idea of the two joined Koreas is really cool, I just wish that was explored more than this bank holdup. Introducing us with that girl was cool, but other than narrating the heist she is not in it anymore... I don't like how he dated the negotiator in order to manipulate her. It just does not feel realistic at all or even fun for the heist. Most of the moves they have taken do far are not surprising and There are too many people for me to really care. That being said, it is moving pretty quickly and it is always fun to watch a crime show with pretty good writing and a high budget.
I've not watched the original Spanish version, so I can't really compare, but I found episode 1 to have very strong similarities to the movie Inside Man (Spike Lee). The acting in episode 1 seems forces, stilted and lacking. It came across like they were trying too hard to get so much done within the first episode, I think it should have either been longer (better to introduce the cast more naturally) or spilt it into episode two. Am intrigued to see the rest of it.
