The entertaining value is high. Lots of laughs but may not be everyone cup of tea. I found myself just waiting for the premiers week by week because it made me laugh so much.
The acting is not bad and the OST is good. The female lead has a bit of character in the movie where she is not portrait as totally clueless. But I really like the main lead, he is absolutely entertaining and love his character in this drama. I am not very familiar with his other movies but he did a good job here.
Seriously, I watch it for the laughs, plus the happy ending in the end.

Entrou para os favoritos!!
"The Love by Hypnotic" é um drama chinês que me cativou desde o primeiro episódio.

Underrated historical romance
Plot and CharactersI loved this drama from beginning to end. The characters were well suited for their roles and the chemistry between the li ming And Prince Yu was amazing. So if you are looking for a sweet, lovey dovey couple, this drama is definitely for you ?I loved every bit of their interactions.
The romance between the side characters was so cuteeee.
Prince Yu' s sleepwalk was another thing it was hilarious!
On another note the writers really know how to write side characters that the audience will hate cuzzzz?
Music
The backgrounds music was *chefs kiss*. They had me humming along with the tune each time it played.
OVERALL THIS IS A REALLY GOOD DRAMA. I WOULD DEFINITELY RECOMMEND
Ps: This is my first time writing a revie. I'll make it better next time lol

I really wanna say that this is one of my favorite chinese historical drama along with Goodbye My Princess, The Eternal Love, Oh My General and Legend of Yun Xi. I'm just sad that there's a The Eternal Love 3 already but no season 2 of this drama. : ( I really love the chemistry of the leads here and The Eternal love (Alen's a supporting actor in the season 3). I really want you guys to watch this cause it's daebak! Wo Ai Ni Man, characters! ♡︎ It's very unique and charming. Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Highly recommended! Go, watch it now if you haven't yet!!!!!!!Cet avis était-il utile?
This is what stood out the most to me and so I highlight and note this drama for it. Other than that very specific detail, you're getting a well done story with everything you've come to expect and love from an RC historical done up mainland style. Repeat. Tons of sugary lip locking. Nuff said, Enjoy. :)

Enchanting drama with a beautiful love story
**A bit of background info: This was the first Chinese historical drama that I watched. Though it has it flaws it still holds a special place in my heart.Story: The premise is about a princess from a sort of tribal kingdom who marries a prince from a more traditional kingdom. The FL is outspoken and not like the traditional women of the time while the ML is the typical stoic, uptight man. They clash a lot in the beginning but eventually grow to love and appreciate each other. They balance each other and both learn from the other. This show has one of the best depictions of marriage that I've seen in a historical drama. The couple fights, makes up, lean on each other and even discuss intimacy.
The discussion of intimacy between the friends and the main couple makes this drama unique. They talk about it and the show acknowledges when they have intimacy.
Also I do have to mention the amount of kisses in this drama went well beyond my expectations.
I also enjoyed the 2nd ML-- though he did some bad things I could sympathize with the pain and anger he felt. However, I did not get 2nd lead syndrome.
Acting: I was surprised when I found out that this was the FL first drama. I thought she was great! Also the dubbing is really good-- I don't know if the actors used their real voices but it matched well.
OST: This show has such an amazing soundtrack! The main leads also sang that the theme song. I still go back and listen to the soundtrack because all the songs are beautiful.
Rewatch: I rewatched this show twice and I still go back and rewatch the cute scenes.

Even though the concept somewhat not a new one but this drama series can deliver a nice twist along the story...
And the cast or actors n actresses... are also surprisingly not bad at all.... even they are very young and some of them are new comers but they can deliver good actings...bravo...
Worth to watch n very entertaining...
May be for just an input : more of actions along the story mix with the love story as well..

Fight for love
Basically drama is all about how a lover fight for his love and Story has little secrets which disclose at last episodes ,they stretched last two episodes ,I don't think there was a need . After watched 34 episodes I thought drama has a good and happy ending that the lead became parents and his siter marriage with his friend but it was not like that . I thought last two episodes were useless.Starting few episodes were bored then fight for love
I like friendship part and sister in laws' love and respect to each other.

Great chemistry between the OTP but inconsistent plot and formulaic characters
Is The Love by Hypnotic for you?If you need to fill your spare time with some good chemistry and kisses between the two leads AND you don't mind the lack of substance in plot and character departments, go for it! Prepare to spam the fast forward button though!
THE BAD: AKA WHAT AM I EVEN WATCHING?
- The overall mood of the drama constantly oscillates between lighthearted romance and serious melodrama. The issue is that for romantic comedy, this drama is simply not funny enough, and for serious DRAMATIC drama, its plot and characters are just too ridiculous.
- The plot is nearly non-existent and what is there, doesn't make much sense. Most of the seriously meant scenes come out unintentionally as nearly parodic and not even efforts of the cast can salvage them.
Just to list all the inconsistencies would take forever, so let's just say that most of the plot devices, be it ML's mom's death or even the titular hypnosis, are only brought up when it's convenient for the writers and then they get forgotten again by all characters for X episodes. Some plotlines don't even get resolved at all, like the love fate of the female musician who helps the FL in several episodes.
IS IT A CHARACTER-DRIVEN DRAMA THEN?
- I wish! All characters are EXTREMELY generic and lack depth. I fast forwarded through most of the villains' scenes because they were just repeating the generic bad guys lines that we heard hundred times before in other dramas.
(poor Zhou Zi Xin is playing a jealous/homicidal SFL yet AGAIN)
- It's nice to see that there is a group of friends around the OTP, so our leads can talk about sex, I mean love, with them, but again, these sympathetic characters have barely any substance and the side romances (FL's maid Tanli + ML's bodyguard Diwu...Princess Kangle + ML's friend Jinyu) are just hinted at.
- The FL is frequently described as "wild" during the drama. But while her love for fighting and hunting is mentioned several times at the beginning, it's quickly forgotten and her being "wild" then becomes...being messy, liking to sleep and eat and being bad at reading/studying. In other words, she suddenly becomes a stereotypical shoujo heroine She didn't seem annoying or unlikeable to me, just bland.
- The ML is harder to like, especially in the first 10 or so episodes. While he accepts his arranged marriage, he is unnecessarily mean to his wife, for no good reason. Yes, he saves her from time to time but usually he then proceeds to be super cold to her again and blaming her for...getting nearly assassinated. I didn't even mind when the FL hypnotized him without his permission because he was such an ass to her all the time!
Fortunately, he comes to his senses, and after he gets together with the FL, he is ride or die for her. His adoration of the FL salvaged the character for me, although he won't rank among my favorite heroes.
THE GOOD: THE OTP'S CHEMISTRY AND KISSING SCENES
- That's what you signed for, right? And The Love by Hypnotic delivers! Despite all my criticism, it's a show that features a solid OTP with pretty great chemistry and lots of skinship and kissing scenes between them. Once they get together (episode 18), they finally start a real relationship that is sweet and genuine. And while their bond still feels somewhat superficial (I would appreciate more meaningful dialogues between them), at least you can actually see them trying to work out their differences and work towards a common goal. (the scene in which they pretend to be on the verge of divorce is *chef's kiss*)
- The show also mostly avoids big misunderstandings and noble idiocy and what is there gets resolved within one episode or so. There is no break-up arc either, which is a relief.
- I cannot forget to praise the actors in the main roles: Alen Fang and Ling Mei Shi, they truly squeezed the maximum from their respective formulaic roles. I can't believe this drama was Ling Mei Shi's debut because she carried most of its first half on her shoulders and did such a good job at it!
- The music was surprisingly decent too and the opening theme was very well done, although it might suit a more serious drama better.
Overall, I wish I could go higher with my rating, but the truth is, that this drama left no deep impression on me and I have no motivation to rewatch it; aside from some cute OTP scenes.

Starts out strong, but the writers got confused near the middle
I think it started out with a lot of potential, but it just fizzles out when it reaches its halfway point. I really liked the FL's character, even the actress but her voice actor sounds so childish that it makes the character seem more immature than she is.The side characters are alright. No one really stands out. The villains are very one dimensional. There's no complexity to any of them.
They also have some confused messages regarding hypnotising someone's feelings, which is a problem because they don't really tell us properly what hypnotism in this universe is actually.
That's the thing, for a setting thats definitely interesting, they don't really want to do a lot with it. But I can't blame them, they advertised it as arranged marriage love story and they're doing that. But it's still a shame. There are some parts that's actually funny, but overall I think I might drop it for now.

Yeah, not gonna finish this one
Look, I tried, really hard. Also, when I say I've watched about 15, that doesn't mean 1-15 - I was on the verge of giving up when I came here and read that episodes 17/18 onwards rev up the momentum, and so I did my utmost.
I can honestly say that the rating of 7/10 is earned, in its entirety by the fact that:
1) they kiss
2) their friends talk about sex in a realistic way*
3) they actually have sex: note to future c-drama makers: SEE? It doesn't need to be explicit, just a lot of kissing and a tasteful cut to the fireplace/candles etc.
See, it always bugs me that in these dramas someone invariably says - "nope, even though we're married, we're not having sex" and I'm like: that is the entire purpose of your arranged marriage? You know, babies? that's what uniting families means?? We're human beings, we don't reproduce through parthenogenesis?
I mean, I'll accept it in something like Nirvana in Fire 2, in which the love story was in the background, though it was frustrating. But a romance has no excuse.
*Before I go on to my critique, I'd just like to stress how much I loved his buddies and their advice - I actually found myself agreeing VOCALLY, OUT LOUD with Song Jin Yu when he was like "Dude! She's pissed off that you didn't bang her yet! WTF is wrong with you! A woman has needs- no wait, the last bit was me. I love a drama and a character which says that sure, we love all the romantic stuff, all the riding through a blizzard to beg us to come back and then kissing in a pavilion while the snow floats down - but we also love all the other stuff. And THEY'RE MARRIED.
Anyway, back to the criticizing. I appreciate that most viewers really enjoyed the songs on the OST, but I couldn't, because I don't understand the lyrics and the subtitles were terrible. In fact, I started turning the subs off once the songs started, and I enjoyed them more. Look, the word "reschedule" should never be in a love song of any kind. NO. "We'll meet again one day" = yes. "We'll reschedule" = no.
Anyway, that wasn't the music I meant when I was giving my one star. I meant the background soundtrack - which was really really loud - so loud that it should be called the FOREground music (see what I did there?). It was all really obnoxiously loud, and added to the tonal problems, especially the jazzy trumpet stuff (weirdly reminiscent of an infamous instrumental song called "The Stripper", from 1958) which was signalling THIS IS A FUNNY SCENE - ENJOY THE HILARITY. THAT'S AN ORDER.
For something that was meant to be a comedy, I sat through most of what I watched with a stone face - except for the scenes with ML's buddies - which I thoroughly enjoyed.
I found Mingyue annoying for the most part - having recently finished The Story of Yanxi Palace, I kept flashing back to Wei Yingluo imitating all the baby-voiced concubines and making the Emperor (and me) laugh - I really hated the baby voice. I did feel bad for her because Li Qian started out as such an asshole.

I would have liked to see a different story line
I'm up to episode 14, and honestly, I think it would be a more compelling story of Yunsi trying to recover his lost love than the romance between MC and surrounding intrigue. Although it's the old amnesia trope, at least, there's a reason for the amnesia, and it was instigated by hypnosis (i.e. deliberately by a villain) instead of a conk on the head or PTSD. I'll be honest, I find Yunsi hotter than ML. He's got this wild intensity from his attire/grooming to his desperation to get FL to remember him that thrills me. Now, I don't know the entire story yet as far as his background with FL and how she actually forgot him, but I would love to see this kind of plot line made into a drama (ML desperately trying to get his lost love to remember him and once she remembers, she's torn between new and old loves). And right now, I wouldn't call this a light and fluffy romantic comedy. There's too much intrigue and too many serious things going on. I don't find much comedy, and I suspect as I get further into the drama, it'll get even more serious as Chinese historicals tend to do. That's not saying that you shouldn't watch it; I'm just saying it's not what I'd call a romantic comedy.Update to episode 19: I'm having a hard time continuing to like FL after she so easily chose ML over her first love, Yunsi. From Yunsi recollections and flashbacks, it seemed like their love was pretty strong/intense so once she regained her memories, I expected more of a struggle, but nope, she easily cast Yunsi aside for ML. That just didn't sit well with me. What kind of shallow love does this girl have for the men in her life? Because of her behavior with her first love, I have a hard time believing that she truly loves ML. Honestly, Yunsi had every right to go bat crap crazy after that. I don't blame him a bit. I'm also not a fan of childish FLs who pout, make the 'hmpf' sound and dissolve into 'baby talk' as though it's cute or something. I don't know about men, but I don't find it cute at all. I find it annoying and what to tell these FLs to grow up.
