This drama was filled with laughter, sadness, and romance which I love! I loved everything about this drama besides the fact that their love didn't start sooner. I had to wait and wait and by the time it happened, it was almost towards the end. I would have given this drama a 10.

Completely worth watching!

It's been a while since I laughed this hard while watching something. This drama did become serious towards the end but overall it was really good and I enjoyed it a lot!

Story: The story was a contract-relationship type story except this time the girl was supposed to be a cousin. Even then it did have those cliche scenes you usually see in contract-relationship dramas. They did make for some great laughs though. I loved the humor! It made me actually laugh out loud which is rare for me. So yeah, ten points for good humor. The mystery surrounding the real cousin was good too. I wasn't a big fan of the love triangle square but it didn't bother much if I focused on the main couple. The pacing was good though it did become a bit slow towards the end. Or maybe I felt that way because it the story got serious. Overall though it was an interesting and enjoyable story.

Characters: I loved Joo Yoo Rin & Seol Gong Chan! And Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook did a great job playing them! I especially loved Lee Da Hae's performance. I haven't seen her in anything before so I wasn't expecting much but she did a wonderful job! She made Yoo Rin likable, even lovable! Yoo Rin was a liar and swindler but her heart wasn't bad. And Lee Da Hae made sure everyone knew that from the start. Yoo Rin was funny and bubbly but the best thing I like about her is that she was smart! You don't see many smart girls in these type of dramas but Yoo Rin was smart and independent and Gong Chan was the innocent one.

That brings me to Gong Chan. The writer broke a lot of stereotypes with Yoo Rin's and Gong Chan's characters. Usually, in these type of dramas, the guy is controlling and rude. He doesn't respect the girl and if he starts liking her then he treats her even more badly. That wasn't the case with Gong Chan though. He was genuinely a nice person. He did care about others. Sure, he was rude to Yoo Rin sometimes but I never felt like it was too much or it was to hurt her. He was also innocent and really really cute! I've only seen Dong Wook in Roommate, which is a variety show, so I didn't know of his acting abilities. But he did a pretty good job here! His expressions were spot-on!

The other two corners of the square, Jung Woo and Se Hyun, I spent most of my time ignoring them. I felt like Jung Woo didn't respect Yoo Rin. He was always like "I'll make her be with me." "I won't let her go." and stuff like that which really made me think lowly of him. And Se Hyun was Se Hyun. Your typical, manipulative, second lead ex. So I obviously hated her. The actors who played these characters were okay. Not very good but tolerable.

Out of Gong Chan's family, I loved his aunt and uncle! But hated the grandfather! I don't know why, I just hated him. Jung Woo's mother provided some good humor with Gong Chan's aunt. Out of Yoo Rin's family, I loved her best friend and her brother! Especially the brother and his sweet little romance with Gong Chan's secretary! It was adorable! I hated her father though!

Romance: Lee Da Hae and Lee Dong Wook have great chemistry but I enjoyed watching their friendship more than their romance. I loved their relationship! They were like best friends and I loved seeing their friendship grow. Both of them were really cute and their scenes were my favorite ones!

Overall: I really enjoyed watching this drama! Even if it is almost 9 years old, it seems new and fresh. It is very well-written and I would highly recommend it for fans of romantic comedies and fake relationship dramas!

- I Just watched this for the 4th time!
- I hit this standard Rom-Com in my Bookmark list this morning and my lazy day perked!.
- A FAVORITE THAT LEAVES ME FEELING HAPPY. :)

WHAT I LIKED
AN EASY ROM-COM THAT HIT ALL THE MARKERS I set. The acting is great. The chemistry is great. The Cast is great. The story is light. They never keep me hanging for too long (but I'm a patient child). The story moves along making it a GREAT MARATHON watch/rewatch (while you multi-task of course) on a lazy/sick day at home.

WHAT I DISLIKED
................................This is on a permanent rewatch list now so I can't be a hypocrite. ;)

I watched My Girl (2005) for the first time just now in 2018. I've seen a lot of rave reviews & people were claiming that this was an important work that contributed to the start of the Korean Wave, have I watched this in 2005 I would have probably liked it too, but now having seen so many amazing dramas it just didn't work for me that well. There are good things naturally, the main pair have good chemistry & their interactions are fun throughout the drama. Lee Da-hae was awesome, even with that hair. I've seen most of the other Hong Sisters dramas & this is probably their least polished work. In the early episodes the pacing is extremely slow by 2010+ standards & even though there were some extremely funny moments I have felt bored about half the time. Later on as the melodrama kicks in everything goes to shit, as usual with the Hongs, but this time it was even more frustrating than what happened in Jealousy Incarnate. This drama has the most annoying side characters ever. Both second leads were the worst, the Father was acting like a certified retard throughout the series & this Grandfather character once again caused a 2 years long forced separation plot that was way more dragged out and was way more annoying than in Pinocchio. In some of the other works by the Hongs they had some pretty decent endings, here the last episode is a super frustrating and meaningless cliche-melodrama fest up until 15 minutes to the end, then one of the shortest happy endings happen in kdrama history, not satisfying at all.

The OST had some pretty great tracks though, so thumbs up for that!

Mentiras, Amor e Identidades Confusas

Hello..

This drama is awesome!
It has the right amount of cockiness that makes the male lead attractive and the right amount of humour and strength from the female lead. The female lead faces her life issues with a smile on her face and then deals with tears and sadness in private.I love the female lead. She was strong before she fell in love and tried to be strong afterwards.
The drama shows real life situations and portrays the complex emotions that each individual faces. It is absolutely heart wrenching. The music totally gives in the effect. Also, there are lots of funny situations created by the female lead. It's original from all the other Korean dramas I have watched.

This made me wonder about how much courage a person needs to love another person.

A MUST WATCH! ENJOY..

Another rom-com kdrama that hooked me up. This was my second time seeing Lee Da Hae in a drama, but as a lead. I’ve first seen her in Sweet 18 as an antagonist and told myself, “She’s really pretty and I think comedy would suit her.” Then a few years later, My Girl aired in Korea and there she was, the main character.

The story is not really original but how the characters played it was awesome. Seeing Lee Da Hae run around in her boots as Lee Dong Wook chase around for her was very amusing, then not to forget the cutie/hottie Lee Jun Ki who’s also bent up on following her as well. Why so many hot guys on your tail Da Hae???

The story revolves around Joo Yoo Rin (Da Hae) who’s on the run because of her father’s debt to loan sharks, then there is Seol Gong Chan (Dong Wook) who is a rich man with no parents but has a doting grand father who is looking for his long lost grand daughter. Their paths cross each other and that’s how chaos began to both on their lives.

Music wise, it was tuned up to every scene and does coincide with the acting on screen but nothing really memorable. Overall, this is a really nice series, even the ending was funny specially if you are a Kdrama buff who's into a rom-com-feel-good-watch-genre.

if you're looking for a light-hearted rom-com with a clear-cut (albeit predictable plot) then look no more!

The story is precise, unusual, cute, (and pretty cheesy in bits and pieces). the main character is vivacious, interesting and really funny. theres not one bit that you would want to fast forward. theres also no main bad guy...every body has their own light and dark...

for me what really made this drama into must watch was lee da hae...she made it look so easy..! her acting was brilliant and he made you fall in love with her unusual character...who is a swindling dishonest cheat.

the lead pair is amazing..really cute and totally loveable! their romace is subtle, well-done and enjoyable. all the lead actors are pretty good looking (if its d eye-candy quotient ur worried about)

the story gets mad, hillarious, sad and happy from time to time.
so ur in for a bumpy ride! enjoy!
xxx :)

The story was well written, hilarious, and melodramatic in the right places. The ending was awesome!

I like LDH and feel like she fit her role perfectly. LDW was very attractive but he can't act! He feels like a statue to me. They also didnt have any chemistry which ruined the romance portion. I liked the second male lead better. The second female lead cant act! I hated her character. The rest of the supporting cast was just okay.

I really liked the music. Fit well with the changing tone of the show.

Average rewatch value just because the cast wasn\''t spectacular.

Overall I really loved this drama because of the writing and the music. It couldve been better with better casting but I would still one of the better older dramas.

Honestly I was quite disappointed with this drama. It started off strong but halfway through, things began to drop. The acting was average, though I love Lee Dong Wook, he could have really done better. Like seriously. Maybe I'm being alittle harsh but hey that's just me. Anyway I just wanted to give my little rant. The story line was inetresting, but just not good enough for me.

I've watched several dramas now, and none have been able to take the special spot that My Girl has! It is not first place, but it has a honorary spot :P The story would've received a 10, if it weren't because of the last episodes. It seemed as if the writers were trying to drag it out so it could have 16 episodes. The acting was good; it received an 8 from me because I felt that sometimes, the female antagonist exaggerated her expressions, and near the end, the female lead also exaggerated her crying scenes. I remember I even heard some wheezing once while she cried... overall, though, this is one of the best I've watched! I have this bad habit to get bored with dramas easily. Or when they start to get too dramatic, I also stop. However, this had me watching, laughing, and enjoying until the end! One of the best, I recommend it if you want a good laugh! The protagonist got out more than a couple of hearty laughs from me :)

The last episode was soooo good...it was more dramatic then the whole story put together. The most amazing thing about this drama is that, even with the evil characters, you can feel sympathy towards them (so seeing them would not annoy you as much) which is new considereing the it has similar storyline to other drama i have watched. WOWZA to the music...perfect for every scene. It might just be me, but the main lead guy dressing is awful (excepty just once)!!!! It was funny and it even made a few tears come out of my eyes (which is unusual). If you like stories where there is a love square =D, then watch this!!!
