Had Potential

I liked a lot of the characters and they seemed to have good chemistry with each other. The show did a good job of conveying a warm vibe. However, the plot had so many holes that were left uncovered that I couldn't believe the last episode was actually the last one. Here are my questions- Why did he call her Irene? Why did he engrave goodnight on her keychain? If he awaits her arrival every winter and has been in love with her forever why did he decide to suddenly be more proactive this particular winter? Why did he so aggressively reject her when she told him she liked him? Why didn't she ask any questions after he kissed her- it literally came out of nowhere and seemingly contradicted all his behavior to that point? What happened to his uncle/ his plan to leave, start a new bookstore? Why didn't she even consider maintaining the relationship before leaving town? Why did he have no dreams in high school and how did he get more positive/ warmer despite going through worse with time? What was the deal with his mom? She loved him but left him but came back but then required his care for 3 years before dying then haunting him? What actually happened to his dad? They got all weird when his uncle came to town saying maybe it's his dad... Why don't the lead couple make plans together? What's this about them dating only while she's in town which is completely random? Why doesn't she stay or he move? Why doesn't he visit her? Seoul isn't far?! Who reads his blog? Why is he so secretive about it with her even after they're together? Make. It. Make. Sense.

gets better and better!

it's hard to rate this drama as anything under an 8/10. somehow, despite the slow pacing and lack of any HUGE plot, it catches the attention in an instant. it's beautiful to watch and it's fun to go along on the journeys of the characters and discover more about them.

hae won continues to be one of my favorite characters ever. she's still strong but her emotional moments are beautiful and help to make her human. i love seeing her relationship bloom with eun sub and i'm excited for more romance in this story, but i like that it's all being taken slow. eun sub cares for her so much, obvious with all of his gestures and dorky embarrassment. still, he does have a past i want to know more about. i also want to know more about his mountain home!

it looks like we'll get some new characters next episode; love triangles? i hope not! regardless, i hope they'll make fine additions to the side characters we already have. eun sub's sister is fantastic and i adore her, and jang woo is a best friend who also keeps putting his foot in his mouth. he's great! i'm interested to see how hae won's mother will add to the plot, and if the murder will be explained more as we continue.
