Realizing until after that they did not take any precautions Terada starts to become worried that she might be pregnant when her period becomes late. When she buys a pregnancy Hase finds out and he agrees that even if she is pregnant he will raise the child as his own. Meanwhile, Terada is coming to terms that she is in love with Hongyo but is concerned because she is uncertain about Kiritani's feelings who she has started becoming friends with. When she asks Kiritani point blank this makes Kiritani realize her own feelings, and start to act weird around Hongyo. When Hongyo inquires about this behaviour Kiritani blurts out asking him to marry her right in front of Terada. His response makes her nervous and more reluctant to take the pregnancy test. Hase constantly curious about the result so then she might be more inclined to accept his proposal starts to develop feeling for Terada when he takes care of him when she gets sick. However, during his illness he unknowingly brings up the pregnancy test in front of Hongyo.
