The cast, in every aspect was unforgettable. I felt so much for our secondary characters; The heart break and the good times. I even thought I felt a little bit for the evil duo. They're all EXCELLENT at what they do and sold us the story. Perfectly. Oh & the soundtrack is one of the best of the year, been on repeat all week tbqh. Good going drama, now I'm going to hold every drama this year up to your standards.

Retainers trio and their funny moments is definitely one of the reason I like this, I also enjoyed the music in this drama very much. But I wish the female lead was someone who looked younger than Micky...
It is highly recommended! Just watch and you'll be carried away = nice awesome drama!

At first, I was skeptical of casting Yoochun as Lee Gak, but now that I've seen it, I wouldn't have picked anyone else. And although there's great chemistry between the leads, I think the ones who take it away are Lee Gak's special 3-man team. They add bits of pep and adorableness that keep the drama from becoming too overwhelming. I personally loved Chi San's cheerfulness and Yong Sool's loyalty and compassion (and soft spot for Park Ha). The ending stunned me and is probably my favorite ending in a drama.
I also love that the story actually connects to a historical legend. It was well-thought-out and well-balanced. Not too much melodrama, yay!
Go watch it now.

Towards the end, the plot gets more melodramatic and improves vastly in my opinion. The theme of the mystery never got old and only got more intriguing. And the drama ties up with one heck of an ending. I loved it.
Romance
I always appreciate it when a heroine has to teach the hero. The couple's relationship isn't that great though. After all the trouble he puts her through and how rude he is to her, I didn't find his kind gestures that touching, but viewed them with the attitude that he owed her. She's quite weak towards any gentleness, but his cheap chivalry had me scoffing. I also unfortunately found their silly moments quite lame.
Park Ha
I like her face. I also like how she can intimidate the guys. When Lee Gak tries to get all high and mighty on her she just snaps at him and he responds with, “Yes Ma'am.”
Lee Gak
No complaints on the actor, who is phenomenal. I was amazed at his transformation between personalities. I just hated the character. I guess I have to keep reminding myself he was a Crown Prince and thinks he's all that. He continues with his historical voice which is quite annoying. But his moments of vulnerability are really satisfying.
He's very petty and conceited throughout the drama.
His best moments are when he's scaring the shit out of his cousin Tae Moo.
I also thought his angry acting was brilliant. And his menacing face is even better.
The Dudes
“Have you upset Park Ha...?”
“As a man, I believe that is a very pathetic move.”
I'm always a fan of squad goals. The servants are definitely one aspect of the drama that I enjoyed. They made me laugh a lot with their group mistakes and blind dedication to their prince. The thing they did best was when they were trying to learn something and their serious and synchronised attempts were so hilarious.
I think Yong Sul was my favourite.
Auntie Wang
This actress is always the bad guy in dramas so it was nice to see her in a bit of a different role. She's actually quite cute.
Sister
Se Na is a stereotypical bad egg. The drama goes way over the top to show what a terrible person she is. Why not just stamp “bad guy” on her forehead.
Although as the drama went on, I began to become more invested in her scenes. Her schemes, manipulation and ruthlessness, is pretty thrilling.
I also liked how Park Ha handled her and those glasses of water - he he he.
Music
It usually takes me a while to warm up to a soundtrack, but I loved this drama's music right from the start. Even the emotional music, which I usually find tacky to begin with struck a chord with me, which really enhanced my early viewing experience.
And there's this one soundtrack that every time I heard it, I really empathised with the Prince and forgave him for all his flaws because the music reminded me of his tragedy and his grief and his love for his wife.

This is probably the second best drama I've seen in my life.(I'd say first but I am very faithful to Moon Embracing the Sun)
The drama takes you on an emotional roller-coaster, in every single episode. One second you're laughing, the next you're cursing (very very evil people), then you're laughing, crying, then crying while you laugh, or laughing while you cry. You'll most likely look like a loon to the outside world. (it's ok. It's ok.)
The last two episodes were better than the whole drama combined. Your eyes pop out of your face when you realize how everything and everyone was tied in together. Things that were right under your nose, but somehow you missed, become so clear. Your heart will ache, oh, it will ache. BUT...I'm writing this strictly nonspoilerishy for a reason.
I don't want to spoil it for anybody, even those ones who are curious and come here to see whether it's worth it or not. GO WATCH NOW.
the music... omo, the music. They play the right song at the right time.
Every single song had a special meaning, and the words and tone just pulled at your heart strings in a way that's indescribable. I wouldn't look up the songs before , because when they come, they'll hit your heart like a ton of bricks.
I think every single person in the cast, including the antagonists did an amazing job. I'm sure everybody hated the villains with a passion, and why? because they did an AMAZING job acting, as well as the good people too. Even those who had a tiny roles, or people that appeared for like 10 seconds, they did an amazing job too. I felt like I was there 100% of the time, I never felt like anything was over or underacted.
I know this drama is a bit slow in the beginning, but compared to most it isn't bad at all, AND it suddenly picks up and goes at 34895793857 miles an hour. It's worth second of your time, I will recommend this until the day I die... I was told NOT to watch it, and I'm SOSOSO happy that I decided to watch it.
EVERYBODY READING THIS... GO WATCH RIGHT NOW.
I gave this a 10/10 for everything, which I don't usually do.
That means something... 10 OUT OF 10.

I don't remember laughing this much in any K-Drama, I lived 4 seasons with this drama. It is definitely the best comedy romance K-Drama I have ever watched. Actually this was on my watch list for a long time but that photo of 4 guys in jump suits always turned me off. I laughed so much that I had pains on my tummy while watching the drama..
There were times I was shedding tears.. but mostly laughing.
The way they landed on Bo Yoong's rooftop with their traditional outfits,
Nearly setting up fire on her flat.
They refused having their haircut for a long time, but after they had their hair cut, they turned into modern guys :))
The hard job was on the Park Yoo Chun as he was playing the double characters the opposite of each other, one is a Joseon Prince the other is a chaebol
One transported into 21th century while the other one is in a coma state, Prince Charming was looking at who killed his wife and searching for it
It took him long time to understand who he really loves, when our prince charming was young he's been asked about the girl who he wants to marry and he answered beautiful girl,
Boo Yong was arranged to marry our Prince Charming but her evil sister got jealous and scared her face with hot iron and instead of Boo Yong she married the Prince, but she was always in the palace, following Prince and her sister..
She's the clever and hard working one.
In the 21st century incarnation of the evil sister is still the same, evil..
A part of me wanted Lee Kak go back to Joseon era and live his life with the woman deserves him Boo Yong a part of me wanted him to stay here in the 21st century and be with Park Ha.
I adored the 4 Joseon era guys :)) they are the ones who always cracked me down.. Lee Min Ho with his childish sweetness, Choi Woo Suk with his greatness, Jung Suk Won with his martial art skills :))) I am gonna miss you all.
It has definitely rewatch value I will rewatch again around 6 mnths to a year
The OST was great it's on my spotify playlist but I think I'll remember the main song.
I wanted to kill strangle the evil sister and her boyfriend god knows how many times.
By the middle of the ep 19 my eyes already turned into red...
It's a remarkable drama....
It's both happy ending it's both not so happy ending....
Ah I feel the pain, right deeply....
Prepare your tissues, ready, set, go.....
I have actually guessed about Crown Princess's death after I have seen the car hit / river scene but i thought Crown Princess might have a secret lover or so..
Ah In the fruit shop / coffee shop if she had ever raised her head and looked....
He understood he's been loving the wrong girl... No Happy ending for our Joseon Prince Charming but so happy ending for our 21st century Joseon Prince Charming Chaebol..
It is gonna be a spoiler but we understood that Prince Charming remembers his past life...

Beautiful love story
I don't give 10's easily. I think of the hundreds of K-dramas I've watched, I may have given four 10s. I adored this show!! The picture put me off for so long, and the explanation of the drama, as well. I don't care for period dramas, I find the costuming too distracting. However, the other night I couldn't come up with anything else I wanted to watch, so I decided to give this a try. This is one of those "stay up till 3am just to watch another episode to see what happens" dramas. Chemistry between the main characters was lovely. They were so beautiful together. This show had drama, romance, suspense, mystery, comedy - it had it all. I'm not a believer in reincarnation - I think that there are times when you watch shows that you have to totally suspend disbelief, and this was one of them, but it was so well done that I enjoyed it all. The connection between the past and the present tied in well. There were TRUE villains in this show - I don't like watching bad guys, but they were like watching a train wreck, you wanted to turn away, but you couldn't. I liked how the writers let the prince figure things out pretty quickly, so the audience wasn't way ahead of the game all the time. I ugly-cried through a number of episodes. I'll admit I'm a sucker for a good love story, and oh my gosh! When I got to episode 19 and it all looked pretty grim, I started to get a little worried. I was watching the timed comments during the last episode and a lot of people didn't feel this was a happy ending, but I think they just didn't get it. When he came into her juice shop, she didn't look up, because she was just working on auto pilot due to her grief. But you could tell it was the prince by the smile when he turned away and walked to the door. And when he met her at NamSan tower, you could tell by his posture that it was the prince. I think they had them meet there, rather than at the palace so there wouldn't be confusion as to whether he was really there, or if she was imagining it. When they changed him into his Joseon costume, that was just to verify that it was the prince. Whether he time-traveled back to her, or was reincarnated with his memories, the bottom line was that their love was so strong that they HAD to get back together. I cannot recommend this drama highly enough!Cet avis était-il utile?
Did I like it? Oh, yes.
Did I love it? For sure.
Did I laugh so hard I cried? All the time.
Did the ending make me die a little on the inside?
Well, I don't want to spoil anything...but if you want info on the ending, see my comment instead.
So given what we were given, I'm mostly satisfied with the ending. Do I wish that things had turned out better? Oh, for sure. But am I happy we at least got what we did? Heck yeah.
And really, my milk and cream for this show was Yi Gak's three manservants (aka The Minions), anyway. These guys were hilarious! Even in the last episode I was laughing so hard. Love it!
I feel like at its core this show was a comedy. Yeah, it tried to be a whole lot of other things too (more on that later) but really, you have to take it for what it is. It isn't and wasn't ever supposed to be no Queen In Hyun's Man, if you know what I mean, but it has its own unique charm.
If you wanna get all technical: The directing is kinda awful. I don't really like the music. Live shooting did not do this drama any good in the editing department and there are lots of plot holes and otherwise un-necessary characters/scenes.
Some scenes are really cheesy and others look like they came straight out of a bad Hong Kong martial arts movie (I'm not even kidding, see the last episode)!
The bad guys are so ridiculous it's funny. Especially Sena, who made NO SENSE to me what-so-ever and was the most detestable female villain in the history in female villains. And that is NOT a good thing. I like it when I love to hate my villains. Her? I did not in any way enjoy.
And then there is our EXTREMELY unfortunate heroin. I cannot think of another character who has had to suffer as much as she did. If you just start listing off all the crazy things that happened to her you will be amazed. Especially if you include the fate of her incarnation. Dude.
THAT ASIDE...I really did love this drama and I think that is testament to how good it was despite its flaws. When you can love a drama just for what it is and not what it isn't I think that means the show was a success.
I would recommend it as probably one of the funniest dramas you will ever see but don't go into it with high standards. Also, what it with your drama buddies. It's all the more awesome that way!
