Someone impersonates Sui Zhou to do some dirty deeds. The crime is then reported to Wang Zhi, but Wang Zhi knows that it wasn't Sui Zhou because he hadn't arrived in the capital yet. Duo Er La has been poisoned by the arrow meant for Tang Fan. Tang Fan becomes the test subject for the antidote. Sui Zhou is arrested for refusing to explain his whereabouts. Tang Fan!

I think that it was quite logical for Tang Fan to test the poison but I still think that he has A.D.D. He seems to feel that he is the centre of the world and forgets that there are other people around him who don't follow his own reasoning. I got really pissed when he was lecturing Sui Zhou.
