Usually while watching dramas, even if the beginning is a bit slow to pick up, as the drama gets into the second half, the plot becomes more captivating and it becomes very difficult to wait till the next episode. This is the first drama that had the opposite effect on me.
The story dragged forever for the last 5-6 episodes and whatever was the meaning for the way it ended, I was just happy that it ended.
Shin Min Ah's character follows the same pattern- from Lively and fun filled to dull and annoying. There was nothing gumiho like about her, except for those tails. Or maybe my expectations were all wrong from watching Gu Family book before, where the gumiho is the star of the show. The saving graces are the two male leads- Lee Seung Gi and No Min Woo. They keep the show from dying out. Most of the supporting cast too did a good job of keeping the humor alive.
Music was good. The songs were enjoyable and easy to recall even now.
Over all, it was a down graph for me. The story went all the over the place, sometimes in circles, sometimes at a tangent, until I wanted it to just stop.
But maybe the positives will appeal to you more- many fun filled moments in the first half, great supporting characters, nice music, and of course, Lee Seung Gi and No Min Woo.

Story wise, the generally concept is extremely fun especially since I always enjoy "supernatural" style concepts that try to mesh with romance - comedy is sure to ensue. However, I feel that it was dragged out a bit too long. There were a few points, especially in the beginning and end (for me at least) that just took FAR too long to get through.
On that note, I think I had the most trouble with (dare I say it) Lee Seung Gi. I can't quite say if it was his acting, or just his character in general, but it was painful for me for the first 6 episodes to watch the so called "slowly-blossoming" romance between the two. I just wasn't feeling it at all, and I actually was more annoyed with it than anything. Thank the heavens that episode 7 saved my will to like his character. I had to give the casting a low score because, after all, he was a main character. On the up side, Shin Min Ah's acting and character were fabulous! She pulled off all the concepts extremely well - which made me oh-so overly attached, especially in the end half of the drama. The antagonists' did their job well (and were both gorgeous to look at~) and the side love story was just hilarious! They are one of the only reasons I would recommend someone watching this drama.
The music, I was actually quite impressed with. Most of the time a specific song is used for certain moods (which they still did with obvious ones such as "Losing My Mind" and "Trap"), but in this drama they nicely made Lee Sun Hee's "Fox Rain" match moods that could pull heartstrings in many directions which I will always appreciate in a drama.
While that will make me immediately grab the OST, I feel that this is only a one time watch. It's fun to see once, but after all the effort put in to get through the lulls I feel I wouldn't be able to make it through the drama as a whole again without preferring to skim to comedic relief.

LSG and SMA's chemistry was just amazing and I enjoyed every wacky, romantic, crazy minute between those two. Even though this was a fantasy drama, I really felt the connection between them was real and genuine. I never once felt as if she was being too "clingy" or dependent. I mean, she's a gumiho who's fallen in love, for goodness sake. She isn't human so it was only natural for her to act a little differently than the average human girl. Instead, I found her to be a strong and loving female lead that knew when to stand her ground and also did everything possible for the one she loved.
The acting of all the characters overall was GREAT and I found myself laughing my way through every episode. They were all such lovable characters and I really can't say anything bad about them.
I was also impressed with the OST for this drama. It's one of those OSTs that fits the drama in every single way. It was absolutely perfect. :3
As for the storyline, I found it to be so refreshingly unique. Something I've never really seen before...a love story I've never heard of. So of course, I was intrigued by it from the beginning. And even though there were a couple of confusing moments here and there that prevented me from giving it a 10 overall, I still consider this drama to be one of my favorites and would recommend it to anyone!
Hoi Hoi~ :D

This isn’t your typical romantic comedy where girl loves boy and boy falls for girl… it’s different because girl is fox and boy is human. Then mix in different immortal beings of the world in the picture, like for example a goddess, a goblin and a human half goblin… yeah. Underworld creatures and immortals are invading the story line but it’s what makes it more interesting.
Not to forget the OST, it adds to the whole concept of the drama: cuteness, hilarity and love in whatever kind of form.

The story is filled with many twists and turns, and though that may be confusing, I think it was fairly well done. It kept me invested in what was going to happen to both Dae Woong and Gumiho.
I can't say enough about the acting. I had never seen Lee Seung Gi or Shin Min Ah in any other drama before this, but I now wish that I had. They were great together and had so much chemistry! I rooted for them from beginning to end, and every time they cried, I cried. The supporting cast was good as well, especially Ban Director and Min Sook, who were epically cheesy but so sweet together.
The Hong Sisters are always known for their musical prowess in dramas. This drama doesn't disappoint that generalization. I think this might be my favorite OST of any of their dramas.
I will rewatch this drama because I've fallen so in love. If you find yourself debating on watching this, I say give it a try. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

I love Lee Seung Gi's smile, and it is in this drama that I have heard of him for the first time. I loved the music they played in the drama and all the different themes for the main characters.

storyline/plot: one of the best storylines I've seen so far in a drama. It was extremely unique and refreshing. I especially liked that it had a happy ending, although I had to relook a few times on the tags to see if was a tragedy because at some points in the drama it appeared like that was where it was headed. It was a perfect combination of comedy (definitely has some laugh out loud moments that were both endearing and hilarious) seriousness, and true love. there were a few times when I was really confused in the drama though. I feel that some of the stuff going on could have been explained a lot better and it got a little difficult to distinguish what was the truth and what was a lie fabricated to suite someone else's agenda.
Actors/characters: as for the acting I thought they did an amazing job depicting their characters. The girl they chose to play the Gumiho did a fantastic job at portraying fox like animal behaviors. A perfect blend of mischievousness and sincerity. She was an extremely likable character, I couldn't help but find her absolutely adorable. I liked how all the characters stood out in their own way had their own unique personalities, they didn't blend together like some do in other dramas. I also thought the male lead for this was perfect, there was great chemistry between him and the gumiho. They did an amazing job of making you feel like the two leads were really in love with each other, I haven't seen such great chemistry since the two leads in '49 days'
music: lets just say that its some of the best music I've heard in a drama. I'm now officially obsessed with their song 'fox rain' absolutely beautiful and a little haunting at the same time. Great choice in music.
overall, I really enjoyed this drama, I think they should do more romantic/comedies about inhuman leads. If you're undecided on watching this you're missing out on an incredible drama.

To start off...I honestly loved this drama! The story is really unique and original and I fell in love after the first episode. It's really funny, filled with drama, and also heartbreaking in parts. This is the 2nd show I've watched that was written by the Hong Sisters (first being You're Beautiful), and so far I'm liking their style of dramas. Also You're Beautiful fans might enjoy seeing 3 of the characters showing up randomly in this drama haha (: (says so in the cast so it's not a spoiler...haha)The acting is amazing! I originally watched this story because of Lee Seung Gi (first watched him in Shining Inheritance and loved him there) and his acting is really good in this drama! I loved him as Dae Woong, and there's no denying he's got one amazing smile (haha). This was the first drama I've watched with Shin Min A but I have to say her acting was done really good as well. She does a great job of pulling off learning things for the first time, and there's nothing bad I can say about her character. It's hard not to like her (: Now for the other guy, No Min Woo, it seems most people liked his character better than Dae Woong because of his looks. Personally, I didn't care for his character as much (only because I liked Dae Woong) - his acting was good though. The noona really got on my nerves in the show, but that just means her portrayal of her character was done well.
The Director and Dae Woong's Aunt make up for a lot of the funny parts in the show haha. Everytime they're together you'll find yourself going "Here we go" haha. If you don't like cheesy scenes, you might not like their characters.
The soundtrack has officially become one of my favorites! I love the music, especially Seung Gi's songs and "Fox Rain."
Will I rewatch this series? Not anytime soon (because there's so many dramas I wanna watch!), but I can see myself rewatching this show again down the road, it's become one of my favorites - I absolutely loved it! The only thing I wish is that it were a little longer, but I still found it great!
Overall - Watch it! (: If you're looking for something funny, sad, different with a great soundtrack and actors, this'll definitely be a must watch (:
