Better Days (2019)

This movie adaptation is a little different from the original book "The youthful you who was so beautiful". The movie left out many details. But, considering it's a movie adaptation, it's quite understandable, as there is a time limit for it. The story is still well presented. It fullfil its purpose.

The acting is top-notch. The actors did a great job, specially the two main leads Jackson Yee and Zhou Dong Yu. I loved the cinematography.

I highly recommend people to read the book this movie is adapted from "The youthful you who was so beautiful" by Jiu Yue Xi.

THIS IS THE BEST MOVIE I WATCHED IN SO LONG

I watched this movie because of a tiktok edit yes kinda embarrassing but I am so glad, I watched it. I've never expected myself to like this movie as much as I did. I even maid my cousin watch it that's how obsessed I was with it. Anything related to someone getting bullied and them healing. I eat that shit up every-time. But this story it was something special the acting, the way the ml cared so much about her, It mean't so much to me. Also that one line in story where he says "You protect the world, I will protect you" HAS ME ON A CHOCK HOLD EVERY TIME OMGG. The only sorta complaint I got is the ending well personally I'm not a fan of bittersweet ending it could even be called an open ending. I've noticed a pattern that all the good things in media always have endings like this which makes sense because if there's a very specific ending people will always get hate for it example would be the author of AOT I totally recommend watching this movie, I wish I could watch it again or even see someone watch it for the first time.

Til The End

So first and most importantly if you can't handle real life scenario bullying TURN BACK!! In all honesty, I was worried to watch this strictly because there's a tag that says 'tearjerker'. I'm not built for crying and the fact the main plot of this movie is bullying, hits me hard as a mother. I held strong...til the end. lol The acting was amazing! I felt all the emotions from the main characters and the music was touching as well. I was bullied briefly a few miscellaneous years of school but fortunately for me, I never felt anything close to the impact many others do. Even as an American, this movie definitely portrays the same issue...getting the police and school system to take you seriously and actually help you. The romance was so perfect in everyway that I can honestly say I don't want anything added or taken away. Worth the watch but can be emotionally draining.

Wonderfully told. Beautiful story that can make you cry for many reasons.

This is a very beautiful film! No wonder it was nominated in Oscars for Best International Film. I think it also deserves to win it all. Made me cry from the start up to end. I cried because it's sad, I also cried because of anger. I cried because of the destructive events in this movie and I cried the most in the end because of happiness and fulfillment.

This movie told a wonderful story about bullying and seeing hope despite what's happening to you. The performance of the two main leads is a masterpiece. I can see the hardships in their eyes very clearly as if they are the true persons behind the story they are telling to us. The love they had is very pure and seeing their lonely eyes makes me cry.

The theme of this movie was on point and perfectly blends to the cinematography to deliver the right feelings to the viewers.

Everything in this film is just beautiful, might be heartbreaking but the resolution of the movie will give you relief. This is a must watch movie especially to those who experienced and seen any types of bullying. After watching this, now it's one of my favorite movie of all time!

Whenever I see a major bullying themed series, I always immediately stay away from it. Iam not a fan of the genre as a whole because I often felt it was predictable in the manner in which the lead will want to get revenge and that is the main story line.
let me tell you that this is different, it is a breath of fresh air in this genre. Firstly, I loved the attention to detail the cast and the writers paid in this film, the cinematic experience as a whole was good because it had realistic color grading, that honestly did a lot of justice towards the film. Secondly the lighting, this was one of those details that simply carried the emotions of the film, in the manner in which the director maintains the melancholic feel of the movie.
A comment on each lead character:
female lead:
She had an extreme sense of wanting to survive and leave her old life behind, she wanted to escape and there was only one way to succeed. I loved the way she steadfast in her belief to see Beijing. All her actions are driven by her burning desire to escape her life.
Male lead:
The appearance of the female lead sort of gives ml something meaningful and worthwhile to live for, something to care about
and this allows the audience to see to what extent he is willing to go for his newly found sense of belonging.

Now I am by the part that I would say is the groundbreaking factor of this film, the chemistry between the leads, the way in which you felt their emotion and the way in which you understood their love yet neither of them ever said it out loud.
Yes, this is the kind of love I absolutely love.
The best part was the overall theme of protection and survival, they both were similar yet so different. Both abandoned in their own way. Him always being behind her was such a clever idea not just because of the plot but also because of the theme, she found peace knowing he was always behind her, and he found someone he wanted to protect more than himself.
This film showed me that even with no words said we can all feel, I cried so hard throughout this film because of subtle and delicate their love was yet it was just as passionate and strong.

chorei como uma condenada *piadas a parte*.

esse filme foi... algo. no começo, eu achei que ele ia ser meio bleh porque sei como a asia normaliza bullying nas escolas e normalmente é raro ver um filme em que a vítima não é vista como a culpada, mas esse me surpreendeu muito, eu fiquei chocada com o final porque não era algo que eu estava esperando... tipo eu li a sinopse, mas eu achei que era somente sobre a primeira morte, então quando teve mais uma morte, isso me chocou muito.

não tem muitas cenas de romance, eu diria até que eles não são um 'casal' com cenas clichês e fofas no filme, visto que eles se beijaram apenas duas vezes e por circunstâncias em que ambos estavam em perigo e precisavam fazer aquilo para salvarem a si mesmo, mas eu gostei bastante desse fato de não terem ficado tanto assim em um romance tradicional e sim focado neles se acolhendo em meio todas as situações que ambos passaram, o filme te vende a imagem de que será uma garota estudiosa e toda certinha e um bad boy como um verdadeiro clichê, mas é muito mais do que isso.

na verdade, eu diria que eles são apenas dois adolescentes quebrados e cheio de cicatrizes, mas que encontrarão conforto um no outro e a vontade de continuar sobrevivendo mesmo sabendo o quão injusto o mundo é.

"você intimida ou você é intimidado". essa parte me fez chorar um pouco e lembrar de coisas do passado... o filme é muito bom, mas você tem que estar preparado para chorar bastante, na metade do filme eu estava tranquila e pensando se era só aquilo, mas quando o verdadeiro plot começou foi apenas lagrimas atrás de lagrimas, o final foi inusitado para mim, mas de uma forma boa, eu gostei de como foi e não tenho nada a reclamar a respeito disso, confesso que fiquei curiosa para saber como foram os quatro anos dela na cadeia, mas acho que seria algo que já esperávamos com ela tentando resistir e lembrando que quando saísse de lá poderia encontrar ele e assim eles poderiam recomeçar de novo em um ambiente melhor.

e não posso esquecer de escrever sobre a parte mais fofa: no final, ela protege uma aluna que aparentemente está sofrendo bullying levando a menina até a casa dela e ele segue atrás delas, mas dessa vez sem esconder o rosto, ele mante a promessa que enquanto ela estivesse protegendo o mundo e os mais fracos, ele estaria protegendo-a. ❤️

Stunning. Breathtaking. Eye-opening. A masterpiece.

This movie was absolutely breathtaking. In the most beautiful and horrific ways. It was real, and scary, and eye-opening, but it also found beauty in worst of times. The acting was absolutely incredible. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would I can't believe how raw the emotions were. Especially in the scene at the end, where they see each other again through the glass. Incredible. The filming was incredible. It was clear that each and every shot had been taken in the most meticulous way. I'm stunned, taken aback, in awe. A breathtaking piece. A masterpiece. The ending was beautiful . I can't express how much I loved this movie. I would 100% watch it again and I highly highly recommend it.

Não tem nenhum defeito

Eu tinha certo receio de assistir esse filme porque alguns filmes ou dramas do gênero me deixam deprê por dias depois de assitir. Mas ainda bem que tomei coragem, porque me deparei com um filme sensível, realista, e com um romance que é retratado de maneira pura e autruísta.
O tema sobre bullying tem um forte protagonismo, e a gente vê o quanto denunciar e confiar nos adultos pode ser uma coisa que soe até como piada para as crianças/adolescentes. O sistema é muito burocrático. É a mesma situação de violência doméstica. Enquanto a denúncia é apurada, a vítima segue vulnerável, o criminoso vai lá e se vinga. Ou esse sistema muda, ou essas atrocidades vão continuar acontecendo.
Também há um ponto sobre negligência dos pais, abandono, ou o excesso de expectativa da própria sociedade para que adolescentes saiam de suas escolas com um futuro ganho, direto pra uma boa faculdade. Não existe um olhar para as crianças que tiveram essa esperança destruída, que saíram da escola, que se tornaram marginalizadas. Elas são vistas como escória.
Todos esses pontos a gente vê na trama e o nosso coração apenas vai se dilacerando pouco a pouco.
Então vemos o companherismo e o amor brotar como uma flor de esperança para dois jovens que são tão parecidos, que vivem no mesmo mundo, mas possuem perspectivas diferentes. Eles se compreendem e se apoiam, e isso é responsável pela dose de encanto que vai curando nosso coração apertado.
Dizer que não tem nenhum defeito não é exagero. Foi indicado ao oscar de melhor filme internacional, mas eu nem sabia. Os cenários são lindos, a música é maravilhosa, as atuações são impressionantes. É incrível como os dois protagonistas se comunicam nas cenas, muitas vezes somente com o olhar. Os dois atores ganharam minha admiração e como boa dorameira vou seguir acompanhando o trabalho de ambos.
O filme é delicado, realista, intenso, faz a gente ter um turbilhão de emoções, é muito fácil de chorar também (eu chorei kkkkk). Enfim, esse filme é um diamante que vale a pena você apreciar e depois guardar com muito carinho.
