Flower Boy Ramen Shop (2011)

Милая непритязательная дорамка, как раз с рождественским настроением. Вот только с жанром они не определились, что не пошло ей на пользу. Вроде начали комедией, поначалу с жутко раздражающими Гг-ями и отличным второстепенным кастом. Особенно, эта парочка учителей с их неуемной фантазией а как они прошлись по "Сикрет Гарден" - любо-дорого смотреть. Хотя вторичность сюжета прямо указывала именно на эту дораму.
Потом как всегда к 8 серии грянул ангст плавно переходящий в романтику. Тут я уже смирилась с главными героями, тем более мальчики были ничего, ну а девушка страшненькая, но привыкнешь вроде и милая. Хоть не кукла сделаная и слава богу.

В общем и целом, глянусь, поулыбаться и баиньки. Чтобы приснились красивые мальчики.

[I honestly don't remember much, I wrote this review in my notes 3 years ago]

Unlike most people, I take it for what it is - an exuberant early 2010s romantic comedy drama. And honestly, I found it quite enjoyable with the lame jokes and dry humour. I watched this to see the chemistry between Lee Chung-ah and Lee Ki-woo (IRL couple) [FUTURE EDIT: rip @ this being a 3 year old review] and was not left disappointed in terms of the scenes they had. BUT I was hella disappointed (even though i definitely anticipated it) that their characters did not end up together. I love Jung Il-woo but his character was not it in this drama. Cha Chi-soo (the male lead) is the most stuck up and annoying character and did not deserve to end up with the female lead. Removing biases towards the couples aside, I'm pretty sure I would have still liked the second lead male over the first male lead. Totem pole boss was kind, nice, and attentive while Cha Chi-soo was a rude spoiled little brat. I'm sad that not enough people acknowledge how much better the second lead male was. However, despite this disappointment, I am at least glad that the female lead mutually had feelings for the second male lead for majority of the drama. I really liked this aspect of the drama because you don't really see that often. But I would like to argue that this does make it somewhat unrealistic and illogical that she ended up with Cha Chi-soo (but i should preface that this COULD have been due to the fact that I only watched the wife and hubby couple scenes but I still watched other aspects of the drama tho so I still think it's a valid argument I have). I give it a fairly high rating than what I would usually because I am in love with the chemistry between wife and totem pole hubby boss.

Flower Boy Ramyun Shop (2011) - this is the first installment of the flower boy series but this is the last one I’ve seen among the three. This drama didn’t get my attention at first, since I didn't like the first 2 episodes but as the series goes, this drama grew on me. I'm glad I did continue watching this drama as it keeps getting better after every episode. Since it is a flower boy concept, I would the second male lead is so handsome! I like that it focuses on the central point of the drama which is the main 3 characters and the ramen shop. Out of the 3 flower boy series, I think this has the best storyline.

for me i felt it written in a very bad & shallow way i enjoyed it sometimes
& i can't deny it had very touchy & heartwarming moments
but overall it's not strong drama
u can just watch it for once when u r bored or u didn't need to focus with the drama
it's light but at the same time it didn't explain many points
i wondered how it took that rate it's high for me

for me i hated choi chi soo cause till the end of the drama love couldn't change his character from being shallow , selfish , adoring him self & his appearance & he is so childish
i wondered how the main actress fall for him i couldn't find a logical reason he gave her nothing but being nagging
in the contrary kang hyeok gave her every thing can make a woman fall for a real man
this drama doesn't make sense for me

I know that most people that write reviews go all crazy. Always giving 10's. But I wanted to give true grades and here's my reasoning:
Story: I enjoyed the story-line. I liked the normal social standing and the rich social standing between the main characters. The triangle was also a must have, since every drama has one. Reason, why I gave it a low grade, was because of the age difference. I disliked that a guy was running after a girl who is much older than him. He's only in high school, she's not that young to allow such a thing. In many countries she would have been arrested. I'm not criticizing the idea of age differences, but I would have rather fallen for a younger man with better qualities.
Acting/cast: I like the actor Jung Il Woo, and I think he portrays the character very well, and also Lee Ki Won. Again, I disliked the main actress. Both men looked much younger than her, and the way she acted, I just couldn't find such amazing qualities, that would make them fall head over heals for her.
Music: Music suited the type of drama this was. Although I didn't hear any songs that made me want to find them, but I enjoyed the music.
Rewatch Value: I couldn't even finish this, much less rewatch this.

I know that many people are gonna go all out to prove me wrong and fans are gonna dislike this, but this is my own personal opinion, trying to reach people with a similar drama taste.
Just so everyone knows, I have watched You're my pet with Jang Geun Suk and thought it was wonderful. It's hard for me to accept dramas with such big age difference, but I really enjoyed that movie, because I thought that the actress, had true qualities, that would make him truly head over heals, whereas this drama made me very doubtful.

FUNNY, TICKLING ROMANCE DRAMA!

So why did i watched it?

First, its because the main actor is Jung Il Woo, hes so cute, i couldnt stop smiling seeing his face in this drama, starting to have crush on him.................

Second, this drama is so entertaining, there is nothing new or unique in the plot, but its a kind of drama that you will be tickled through ur bone, so romantic that i wanted to blush.

Third, y we watch drama? not just to kill time, but also because we are addicted to this actors and actresses that we want to see more of them.
but in this drama, its not just because of these reasons, maybe its because its refreshing............

I hated this drama so bad the when i remember watching it I literally tear up. You have the usual poor girl , rich guy plot that I don't particularly hate but in this drama the ML was so spoiled and bratty that I couldn't stand him, the FL also infuriated me a lot because of various reasons and I'm 100% she and the ML hated each other, they fought so much and were constantly yelling at each other that I had a constant headache watching this drama, but all of a sudden towards the end of the drama they fall in love ......? Anyway for me it hurt to watch this drama because I generally don't like the hate-to love genre and couldn't understand why the main couple actually liked each other.

The set up of the story is strong with a riveting plot and enticing reasons to learn more about the characters. There is a lot of room for growth, but plot lines quickly drop in favor of focusing on the main love story. The middle of the show is an incessant game of chase that drives itself on the main love story being talked about so often that it feels like the only thing that is ever talked about. At the end, all relationships and plot lines are brought up to briefly help close all the story lines before ending the series.

While following the love story, the plot fails to show growth and change in our main leads. Characters lecture each other and it seems like it is there for the benefit of the air around them, not the characters themselves. For the majority of the show characters don't allow themselves to lose or fail at things and reflect on their failure, leading to the show dragging rather than being enticing.

Characters and their relationships are rarely looked into deeply. Eun Bi's friends are kept on the side and the flower boys growing friendship is only shown by them watching television together. Choi Kang Hyeok's character depth is briefly glimpsed at, but it feels like he is the second male lead solely because they felt it was necessary to have a second male lead in the romance.

If you can get swept away by the romance between Chi Soo and Eun Bi, I believe you'll enjoy this show. The production value is pretty good and the acting is pleasant, but I think the drama could use more heart. It's a simple romance that's a nice escape from reality, but is dragged too long in hopes the audience falls for the romance of an ideal (?) young man and a relatable (?) young, but still older than the guy, woman.
