I love both of our female leads atm, even though they're both brats lol. So impressed that our So Bong keeps her head in an emergency -- she really is qualified to be a body guard! (Unlike a lot of other "strong" female leads in other shows who are rubbish in a crisis) Also, I applaud the show for eschewing the cliche of having the male lead save the female lead from impending danger. It's unusual for the female lead to get actually seriously harmed because they're usually either pushed out of the way at the last minute or the male lead covers them with his body to take the brunt of the danger in their stead. Well, I guess the cliche happened at the very end, but they let her get injured before that lol. But also, is that really what she has to say in that situation? "Don't be mistaken -- that's your heartbeat?" Not "wow thanks for saving me, now let's get the hell out of here before we both die" or even just "cough cough cough?" A little cheesy, but I guess otherwise it wouldn't be a kdrama...Though honestly, in an emergency situation, it's 100% normal for your heart to be racing. I feel like kdramas always imply that the only reason a person's heart ever races is from romance, but pulses increase because of fear, anxiety, stress, exercise, exhilaration, and adrenaline too, amongst others. Just another cliche for kdrama cliche bingo I suppose.
