Sneaking into the Brothel
Yuan An finds her runaway slave and brings him back to her residence, appointing him as her personal ostler. Soon, Yuan An finds out that her new stableman has worked in the brothel and ropes him into the investigation. Together with Lan Zhi, they sneak inside the brothel and learn that the opium hub is owned by a nobleman named Pei Xian Ya, who is engaged with Infanta Ming Hui, a distant descendant of the Tang Dynasty’s royal family. He also happens to be the dead courtesan’s former lover.
