Belle Epoque... A beautiful time of my teens.
I watched this drama Summer 2021 with a big bowl of salad next to me and the sun shining outside. The cold breeze of the late afternoon felt nice as I watched this show for the first time. Now, 3 years later, Belle Epoque is one of my favorite summer memories of my teens - a breath of fresh air and a series which feels like home.I loved and love everything about the show. The girls, storyline, OST, cinematography... EVERYTHING. It's a unique work of art, where you can find quite the variety. You don't really get bored and the girls are really relatable, all going through different normal problems of the early twenties, or late twenties as it was for our lovely Jin Myung.
I liked how well the characters were individualised - a similar feel like in Hospital Playlist, another favorite of mine.
It's just one of those shows you don't know why it holds such a big place in your heart... or maybe you know. ;)
Now yes,
Thank you "Hello, My Twenties!" for being summer 2021 to me! For being home and for being the place I come back to every single summer. <3

I started this one right after I had finished the first season and my instant reaction was, "I can't watch this! Eun Jae has been changed, there's no Kang in it! This is so different!"I gave up on it and pretended that season 2 doesn't exist, until I started missing watching all these girls and how they dealt with life.
So, I gave it a shot and tbh this is just as good. Sure, it took me some time to get used to the new actress playing Eun Jae, but I later realised she did a really decent job and tried her best.
As for Kang not being in this season, she had her own reasons out of the show but does make guest appearances. I think this part was also necessary to show since life is never constant and you have to face changes and get used to them. That's exactly why adding a new housemate was genius.
Helped the story grow and made room for more plots.
This season, they again made us turn our attention towards issues like, dealing with trauma, childhood trauma, getting over a breakup, family problems, unfriendly housemates, long distance, getting into a relationship right before joining the army, moving on from years of friendship, what happens to unsuccessful entertainment groups who don't make it big, and in one of the episodes they also have a very brief conversation over lgbt. It can be perceived in both a progressive, or a primitive and homophobic kind of way.
(also lol, they keep saying stuff like @eun jae has changed" // it cracked me up)
And these are all the reasons why I absolutely love both the seasons of this drama. It's so unique and meaningful. It's fresh and relatable. It gives you motivation and courage when you see these girls are humans just like us and they experience mundane problems and deal with them together.
Must watch! 10/10 tbh :')

Doğru konuşalım eğlendik dizide ama biraz kötüydü be.

i dropped this a few years ago bc i was so annoyed w the "new" eunjae. her role along w her acting made me skip her scenes it was overall annoying but i am soooo glad that i picked this back again, somehow it completed me ??? its fresh slice of life description made me realize that everything happens for a reason, no matter how good or bad the situation is there's a million ways that its cause is a motive of the future (like when jo eun was introduced as a new tenant, when ji won fainted at the club; it's all connected with others) anyways, it's nothing comparable as s1 and still no jiwon & sungmin :((Cet avis était-il utile?

If you want to understand Age of Youth 2, you need to watch Age of Youth 1, as the story of some of the girls still runs. The actress that played Eun Jae in Age of Youth 1 got replaced, and I didn't like her. Already her character was quite annoying-perhaps that was the idea behind her character, but at least the first actress was cute and childish in a way, whereas the one in Age of Youth 2 was just annoying, thought that she deserved the break-up.Overall I liked the drama, my favourite character has to be the beautiful and charismatic Song Ji Won, which played so well and she was just so fun to watch. I was also let down by the drama (twice ) as there was huge potential to promote activities which would raise attention towards female violence and rape in a society which usually turns away from these things which are lamentfully seen as shameful. I think they should have involved the girls in societies around the Uni campus but also writing in the Uni magazine about these real life stories that happened to women with the aim of forming a group of people that shared their experiences and gave support to each other. I think considering Korea is nr 1 country for suicidal deaths, they had such a great opportunity to promote thorough this drama different ways how females can seek support (and not just hide it from everyone) after violent attacks and how to be united in cases like this. Most probably the viewers of this drama are mostly girls, so all I have to say is, be safe, be wise and seek support, dont be alone!

I don't like the girl who portrayed Eun Jae. There is something where she lacks. I don't feel any chemistry between her and Jung Yeol. During their break up/ closure scene where Eun Jae beg for Jung Yeol to love her again, I don't feel like crying. Tbh, I felt the second hand embarrassment for her. I love both season 1 and season 2, but I don't like how they write the character of Eun Jae in this Season. She only thinks about her love life most of the time.
But over all it is worth to watch. I fell hard to every cast especially Park Eun Bin. She is a great actress as in big WOW.💗

Sinceramente, pulei quase tudo relacionado a boy band.

Great slice-of-life show!
This can be a very easy-to-watch slice-of-life show with some drama sprinkled throughout! The characters are loveable and goofy and you can relate to at least one character I'm sure. There was definitely a cast change into the 2 seasons that I did not prefer so I do like the first season a bit more. I also love how they portray the different relationships in this show and the different struggles within them. I found this a very refreshing and relaxing show most of the time and considered it a good watch! Wouldn't have minded more seasons!Cet avis était-il utile?
