Madam Qi visits Yuan Qi at an inopportune time and is seen by Pei Er. Pei Er overhears the conversation between Madam Qi and He Cheng but is caught. She knows her life is in danger but fears no one will believe what she knows. Yuan Qi visits Jing Ping at Lang Ya in hopes of getting some advice on taking back the 3 remaining provinces held by Donghai, but Jing Ping makes it clear he is no longer interested in military affairs.
