When I first added this drama to my "to watch" list, I thought this was going to be about a rich girl, Lin Xing Chen, being obsessed with this boy, Zheng Chu Ya, where she follows him and enrolls in university to be closer to him, but during their first meeting, she mistakes someone else, Jiang Nian Yu, for the guy she has been following. Once she finds out that she has made a mistake, she befriends this man who agrees to help her win over main guy’s heart, but in the process they fall in love. Instead, we got a drama that reminded me so much of Meteor Garden/Boys Over Flowers, which is funny because they reference this drama multiple times throughout when they would step out a situation and be like...yo...this is straight out of MG. And I completely agree. It almost seemed like everyone was a mix of characters. Such as I thought that Yu Yang Yang, who had a very similar story of how Dong Shan Cai (MG) got into university (and I love how Lin Xing Chen called her out on that too), reminded me of Dong Shan Cai from MG how people loved her for no really good reason and how she didn't stick up for herself/had no sense of self-worth. It almost seemed like this drama was a fan fiction version of MG except Dong Shan Cai isn't the lead and actually turns out to be kind of a bully who once again has no concept of the real world even though I feel like she would be the person out of everyone else who would. Not a huge fan of her character especially when the two mains, Jiang Nian Yu and Zheng Chu Ya, treated her like a brand new puppy whereas the same with Dong Shan Cai, I was confused why everyone loved her as a person. Home girl said and did some shady stuff to Lin Xing Chen and everyone kind of just ignored it like this was a normal thing. As for Jiang and Zheng, I saw a lot of Dao Ming Si and Hua Ze Lei in them. As like Dao Ming Si, Zheng comes from a wealthy family and had a loud personality who is used to getting what he wants, which in the beginning is our Shan Cai, Yang Yang. But also like MG, Yang Yang isn’t in love with Zheng, but is in love with Jiang who I thought seemed like Hua Ze Lei. Like Lei, Jiang is very soft and loving and is a musical genius. Except for in this drama, the whole atmosphere and setting really brought out the best of Jiang where he was this humble music genius who wanted to use his powers to help others rather than himself. Don’t get me wrong, I was surprised that I actually enjoyed both Zheng and Jiang’s characters. I knew who was going to end up with Lin Xing Chen at the end, but I felt sad for the other guy because he genuinely cared about Lin Xing Chen, but had a very Dao Ming Si way of showing it. A beginning of MG, I want her so she is mine and no one else can have her. Except, I felt like these two characters were a lot more likable than any MG or BoF love interests even though they both got me mad a few times because they keep misunderstanding situations. I have also thought about this while writing this. Originally, I thought Lin Xing Chen was a new character in this universe, but now thinking about it, here are my thoughts. Zheng (Dao Ming Si) likes Yang Yang (Shan Cai), but Yang Yang likes Jiang (Lei). But Jiang doesn’t like Yang Yang, he likes Lin Xing Chen (Teng Tang Jing). Lin Xing Chen reminds me of Teng Tang Jing because he is smart capable woman who knows she is capable and not afraid to prove her worth, but because of this, she doesn’t think much of how other people will be affected by her actions. Maybe MG follows a very generic drama outline and I am just overthinking this, but I literally thought that this show was fan fiction of MG, BUT following Lei and Teng Tang Jing’s complicated love as well as if Dao Ming Si realized Shan Cai had nothing to offer and went after Teng Tang Jing as well as had an arranged marriage.

There was something here. It was full of cliches, but it also had a few things that were really unique. We had the rich airhead female lead, the less well-off male lead, while the side characters were the poor, working, clumsy girl, and the other rich chaebol male lead...and yet nobody was a cliche character, and what this drama did was essentially mess with the Meteor Garden/BoF rich vs. poor formula. I respect that a lot.

Even so, however, the drama was a little too goofy and ridiculous for my liking; I don't have an issue with that itself and I actually appreciate that the drama didn't take itself too seriously, but overall, it was hard to get emotionally invested because of it.

I also felt like it trailed off at the end a little with very repetitive reasoning.

Other than that, the character development of the rich characters were actually very well done, and I especially grew to love the second lead. The male lead was a great character as well but he didn't change much. The second female lead was probably the weakest of all. Even though her character was initially interesting, ultimately her character development didn't really go anywhere and it was hard to pinpoint exactly what her personality was. The main character grew a lot too, but the acting left a lot to be desired.

My Little Princess is super cute (rom-com). Rayli Zhang Yuxi (female lead) is pretty *no one can deny it* she fits the character (rich, fabulous, beautiful). Zhang YuXi's fits the *Princess Disease*.

At first, he tries to get Kenji (rival of the male lead) because it;s her fiance. But Kenji fells inlove with a shy-typo girl. Then he always runs to Mike D' Angelo (male lead). They act cutely superb cute! But as the days forwards Kenji slowly falls inlove with Zhang YuXi, but Zhang already fall in love with Mike.

Please watch it! I even got sad when it's about to end. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Benefits?? SUPERB CUTE THAN EVER!

Oh! Before I forgot, view tha OST. It's so good! Title : Because of You by2girl and PONPONPON. :)
Aye, 10/10!!!!

I honestly love this show! I like the whole 'Bear Knight' thing. What bothered me was the protagonist with her common rich girl attitude. But that eventually changed. I want to see more dramas related to "My Little Princess" and "Dear Prince"! They're both about 'royalty' or some kind of 'Princess/Prince' syndrome and they both eventually meet someone to get rid of it.  //  Yang Yang got on my nerves a lot. She played innocent then rude girl the next. It confused me a lot what her personality was. Yang Yang never appeared a lot since she was a support role.  //  This is my second drama with Zhang Yu Xi in it. She's really pretty. :)

No me convence...

This show is definitely a mixed bag, but I enjoyed it overall. Many aspects of it are either ridiculous or poorly executed. The "bear knight" concept (that is, the male lead rescuing or offering comfort to the female lead while disguised as a teddy bear mascot) was initially somewhat cute and funny. It's a bit silly for my taste, but it would have been fine if limited to a few instances in mostly believable circumstances. Instead, it was used in situations that interfered with my ability to suspend disbelief even in a show like this, and it was overused to death. What started out as kind of cute was just obnoxious by the end.

The orchestra scenes were laughable in how poorly the actors pretended to play their instruments and in how poorly the music matched their playing. (Of course they can't be expected to master an instrument for a part, but it really would not have been too much effort for at least the main characters to be somewhat convincing. I blame the director for this rather than the actors, though.) And I was honestly shocked that a professionally produced show would include watermarked stock images. That's a pretty inexcusable oversight. I get that this is a lighthearted romantic comedy, but a bit more professionalism would have been nice.

That said, it is still a pretty fun drama overall in spite of its considerable flaws. It has a more "old-school drama" feel somehow, perhaps because it is intended in part to be a parody of shows such as Boys Over Flowers/Meteor Garden and Heirs (all of which I've seen some of but never managed to complete). As such, it is chock-full of some of the most overused tropes and nothing is particularly unpredictable, but the two main characters make up for that with their charisma and chemistry. It also helps that the tone of the show is lighthearted and humorous overall (which is exactly what I was looking for).

Lin Xing Chen could have been an easy character to dislike since she has been raised to think of herself as being above ordinary people. She has lived a very materialistic life geared towards either showing off her beauty, her designer goods, or her artistic skills. Her social media presence is evidently strong (as implied by her competitive scenes with frenemy Jia Na) and she is well known enough for even a minor faux pas in public to appear in gossip news. Xing Chen can definitely be annoying at times, but when contrasted with the deceptively "innocent" Yang Yang, her brasher, more honest approach is refreshing. Additionally, her goofiness, wild imagination, secret addiction to reading BL novels while eating junk food, and ultimately her choice of career make her seem more like a quirky, individualistic character and less like the picture-perfect princess she'd otherwise seem.

The male lead, however, is essentially a cookie-cutter image of a perfect prince (or knight in shining armor, if we're sticking to the fairy tale archetypes assigned by the series). Jiang Nian Yu is an exceptionally talented musician, ballroom dancer, and equestrian – among the best (if not the best) of his peers, despite not having the same financial resources. If that weren't enough, he's also the top student in the university. When he's not busy being perfect at school, he's working part-time at a local comic book store – which sometimes involves wearing a bear mascot (is that really common in China?) – and rescuing Xing Chen as "bear knight" when she's sad or in trouble. Unlike Chu Yao (the fiancé arranged for Xing Chen by their respective parents), Nian Yu is always able to remain levelheaded in a crisis. His main "weakness" is presented as PTSD related to a relative's death (not that I really consider that a weakness), but it is so unfeasible and poorly written that it should have been left out.

The main thing that prevents this character from being unbearably boring due to his lack of flaws is the actor's charisma. While male leads tend to be unrealistic in most dramas, Nian Yu is more forgiving, kind, romantic, and suave than typical. This could be annoying, but Mike Angelo is so good at it that I couldn't bring myself to care all that much. (I obviously didn't watch the show for its realism.) Both the actor and character remind me a lot of what I enjoy about Lee Dong Wook's character in "My Girl" (although Gong Chan is decidedly less perfect and more awkward).

Zheng Chu Yao and Yu Yang Yang – the second male and female lead respectively – aren't very likable. Chu Yao (or “Prince Yao,” as he is sometimes called) ironically refers to Xing Chen as “Princess Syndrome,” but his arrogance and willingness to throw his money around far exceeds hers. He treats her very poorly throughout the first half of the series until he realizes that he has feelings for her - then he wonders why she isn't madly in love with him and what Nian Yu has to offer her that he doesn't. Zero self-awareness. Still, he does provide some good comic relief at times. Yang Yang is full of self-loathing and insecurity because she's an average person in every respect surrounded by wealthy, outstanding peers, which causes her to lash out passive aggressively at Xing Chen. Neither character is completely terrible, and both demonstrate some growth, but neither seem to change completely either. The supporting characters are mostly forgettable. I honestly never cared much about any character but the main two.

There are a couple of subplots that really added nothing to the show. One involves a former romantic relationship between two minor characters that doesn't really go anywhere, even in the epilogue, but at least it doesn't take up too much time. (I suppose if anything, its purpose is to serve as a cautionary tale.) The other subplot is clearly meant to add more suspense and action, but it is handled poorly and the show would have been fine without it.

I chose to watch this because I've been wanting a change of pace from the lengthy historical dramas I've been watching more recently. It was a bit sillier than I would have expected, but after the first episode, I pretty much knew what I was getting myself into. This is a show to not take too seriously. The writing isn't great, but it's mostly fun anyway. The OST ranges from mediocre ballads to a bubblegum pop track with a Britney Spears soundalike singing English lyrics that are mostly nonsensical, and actually, that seems to suit the show perfectly.

I don't regret watching it, though I don't see myself watch it again. (Maybe rewatching specific scenes would be fun, but not the whole drama.) I can't say I'd definitely recommend watching or avoiding this one… but hopefully this review will help you determine whether it'd be worth it or not, based on what you're looking for specifically.

tl;dr:

Pros – some good comedy, lighthearted romance, good chemistry between leads

Cons – very flawed writing, unprofessional editing, forgettable supporting characters, mediocre OST

There is something opposite from the mostly Cdrama's!!

Okay,so overall it was sweet kinda drama, No breakups, Not so many misunderstandings
And the most importantly the FL was not a crybaby she was really independent and "Rich". And ML was normal middle classed person not the "CEO" or the president of a company..

And I don't know how the SML who always hated FL suddenly started liking her? Like how? Isn't he was into yu yang yang from the beginning? And only after one conversation he started liking her. Okay, I liked the way they trust each other and he was so understanding even SML was so understanding," he sacrifice his love for his love" he give up after knowing she is not into him anymore (ok no more spoiler) and I liked her both mom's..
Imo FLs and MLs screen time was short togather I wanted to watch them do more cute and romantic things together but, they didn't! I liked it anyway.
Highly Recommended, you must watch it and there are only 16 episodes so give it a try...

I do enjoy cute dramas, and this is one of them..

She is the illegitimate daughter of a rich business man after his death, the wife brings her into her house and she starts to live like a princess. She is been promised to marry another rich businessman's son, she chased him for a long time, he did not like her, she fell in love with a different guy and the other guy who at the time did not fancy now starts to chase her.. It's a sort of love triangle but in a funny way..

She keeps on having day dreams in the middle of things.. that makes this drama quite funny too

It gets boring time to time but if you do not have anything to watch go for it.

This is just a fun, cute, fluffy drama. The romance is sweet and fun to watch unfold. The cast is a nice ensemble. It's not groundbreaking or anything, it's just a solid fun drama that is a great choice if you simply want to smile for awhile.

The only things that are a bit annoying are the daydreams and flashbacks...of which there are LOTS. They are easily fast-forwarded through though and that makes the episodes even shorter. Most of the episodes are around 40 minutes so if you ff the flashbacks and/or daydreams, it's more like 35 minutes which makes it an easy watch.

I enjoyed this show a lot and found it refreshing.

Cinderella's Story Reversed

I will not lie, this is the cutest princess-related drama I've seen. I am absolutely in love with Bear Knight and I wanted to cry at the proposal. I thought it was funny that the female lead and the second male lead were actually in a relationship for 2 years off screen. I would have watched the "sequel" that was released as well, but I saw a clip of the new male lead and I didn't like him, his arrogance was too much and I found myself uninterested to watch it, though technically it's more of a spin-off.

Lin Xing Chen is a soft girl, and has the mind of an innocent child. But, she's a kind person, even if a lot of people don't see her that way through the episodes. Jiang Nian Yu is a very insecure person, and yet people see him as a cold ice cube because he never smiles?? Zheng Chu Yao was a surprising character because his feelings ended up being different than I originally thought, and at the very least I thought him and Yu Yang Yang would become close, but the outcome was different. Speaking of Yu Yang Yang, at first I liked her, but then she kind of became...two-faced? Personally, I loved Chu Yao's friends, they were funny.
