OVERALL A GREAT AND FUN WATCH

Very cute!!!
Tbh it made me a little iffy to watch at first because of how heavily it focused on fl weight but I liked the fact he liked her at any weight and was very supportive of her goals. To begin with, No stupid drama, no second female lead the ml refuses to cut off, no toxic mom,grandma, or dad that's trying to ruin the relationship

Beautiful lady

Nem acredito que finalmente acabei a faculdade consumiu todo o meu tempo, foi um drama que eu realmente pedi pra me divertir e dar várias risadas.
Como vou malhar sem ter um Young ho pra mim?? Ou agora como vou ficar sem o "uma noite tranquila e erótica"???
Eles entregaram um casal maduro, engraçado e com muita confiança e conversa o que eu achei super legal. Com certeza o que mais eu amei foi eles tanto como casal como individual, a min a foi muito fiel a personagem dela do começo ao fim e o ji sub também. O que eu não gostei foi o casal secundário, a amiga dela foi muito chata sabe, pegava no pé dela por nada mesmo e o ex dela tbm não gostei tantooo assim, faltou aprofundar a história deles pra fazer sentido pra mim. Eu queria que a Ju Eun tivesse ficado mais tempo acima do peso e dado mais ênfase aos exercícios dela, apesar que mostrou essa questão de emagrecer pela saúde da pessoa mesmo, mas aí não deu ênfase a so Jin que emagreceu mas ficou com traumas?? e no final que só jogaram a informação da saúde dela ruim?? falaram mais nada!
Não gostei do Jun seong, a menina lá o tempo todo atrás dele, ele poderia retribuir mas o sentimentos não sei, não deu muita ênfase ao casal também, o personagem que eu AMEI foi o ji ung. Ele deixou tudo mais leve.
Enfim, oh my Venus foi super delicinha de assistir e com uma OST que eu amei e não vou deixar de cantar nunca "she is my beautiful lady..."

Venus is the boss <3

The love story between the trainer and his mentee begins somewhere during training sessions and coincidental meetings in private time. The scenes with the main characters are cute but not overly too sweet. The focues very much on Kang's obesity and the diseases it caused, as well as on Kim's continued recovery from childhood trauma. Both characters show that you must fight for health and not give up. I felt in love with them becuae of that. Their stubbornness, openness and determination could convince many to exercise - they did convince me!? - but not necessarily the sterile and tasteless diet that John Kim follows ?

All the supporting characters, Jang Joon-sung, Kim Ji-woong, Oh Soo-jin and Im Woo-shik, are very diverse and bring freshness to the show and make it more multi-dimensional. They refer to the problems of violence, the happiness that can be achieved in meeting the right people and brotherly love.

The series is not perfect. A few stories could be better presented or explained in more depth like the backgroung of Kim Ji-Woong which remains the great unknown. Despite those flaws, this kdrama is very pleasant and positive to watch! ?

i really enjoyed the beginning of this drama. i loved the concept and actors, as well as the chemistry between many of them.

however, then the cliche train smacked in full force. the scarf scene? ahhh i couldnt even watch it. the singing at the end in front of the grandma? why!? why were many of these scenes necessary? imo the cringe just cheapens the pretty impactful story of weight gain and loss that came before it.

the acting was great and the music was also pretty nice, but i would definitely never watch it again. i watched the last few episodes on a 1.5x speed because 99% of them were filled with flashbacks of the show i literally just sat and watched? like what!? crazy.

the ending also didnt sit too well with me. this guy's future wife greets him, pregnant with twins, and to his concern (and horror) shes regained weight and he drags her away so they can exercise immediately? im sure it was supposed to be comedic, but cmon. what a sour note to leave it on. apparently weight gain is disgusting even when due to literal pregnancy? noted.

This drama has been in my "to watch" list for a very long time. For this time of year, I wanted a cute and fresh romance drama to enjoy after long days of work. From the get-go, this drama did meet my expectations of an easy-to-watch TV show. I loved the story and characters, they were all very unique. The beginning was a lot more promising and interesting though, it did seem like the directors of Oh My Venus ran out of ideas and created those last "filler" episodes. Everything would seem enjoyable, but I was missing something more dramatic in the storyline. As for the actors, Shin Min Ah will forever be one of my fashion and beauty icons - I admired her character so much in this drama. The lead couple did have some great chemistry too. In addition, take a minute to appreciate the 3 male bromance in this drama - they're adorable! So, without anything much to say, this is your average romcom Kdrama. It was fun, cute, entertaining and enjoyable.

Watch this for the beautiful well portrayed romance, but if you're looking for an intricate plot you won't find that, the main point of the show is the couple and their explosive chemistry (they're such an otp!).

This is a well executed romcom with some sad parts but nothing too depressing.

I liked how the show promoted being healthy and the most important beauty is the beauty of being healthy inside.

There was a lot of enjoyable romance scenes which were not too cheesy or cringy. There was no annoying love triangle.

The side couple may seem like bad people at first but you'll like them at the end.

The relationship between the three guys was really cute and bromantic.

There were some things I didn't like of course, like when she found out that he was a chaebol and got mad at him for no comprehensive reason or how he didn't want to see her or communicate with her the whole year he was in the hospital and getting treatment, also the last episode was kinda weird and the ending felt a bit rushed but I could overlook that and enjoy the overall show.

So Ji Sub is my favorite! As an avid fan I finally got a chance to see him in a more romantic role. Kim Young Ho falling in love with Kang Joo Eun flowed naturally without the angst we are accustomed to in a kdrama. I liked the subtle ways his character showed his emotions. Despite being the total package in a male lead (chaebol, handsome etc.) he showed none of the expected arrogance in securing Kang Joo Eun's heart. It was a nice touch that he seemed insecure about her past relationship of 15 years with her first love.
I would have to agree with other viewers about the number of flashbacks in this drama. At some point I found myself thinking "yes we know", LOL My favorite drama of 2016 so far.

SOS

This is a nice mature romantic comedy. The 2 leads have sparkling chemistry and ping off each other as all great comedic pairings should! She's strong & feisty, he's sexy with a disability. Not the usual in Kdramas, here male & female are equals.
It's so great that Hyperthyroidism is addressed in the show, as a fellow sufferer I can relate. Mr Sexy...SOS!!!
I can tell this series is written by a woman as there is a lot of wish fulfillment going on!
This series could have gone up to 12 episodes & worked. The last 3 eps are fluffy filler not much going on and waaaay too many flashbacks. The OST is top-notch! I'm loving that ringtone very catchy! There are some genuine LOL moments, more at the beginning. But ooh this pairing is too cute & funny.

Una de las comedias románticas más lindas que vi

La historia gira en torno a Kim Young Ho y Kang Joo Eun. Él es un entrenador personal súper famoso que mantiene su vida privada y su apariencia en el anonimato y ella es una abogada de 33 años que en el pasado era conocida como la "Venus de Daegu" debido a su apariencia...
La cuestión acá es que ella descubre la identidad de Young Ho y lo "chantajea" con esto para que él la ayude a recuperar su figura (lo digo entre comillas porque la realidad es que todos saben desde el principio que ella nunca haría eso y encima el prota tiene sus propios motivos para ayudarla).

Este kdrama fue toda una sorpresa. Lo empecé solo porque quería ver cómo trabajaba Shin Min Ah y me terminé enamorando de ella y de la historia (que en sí es súper simple, pero está muy bien llevada).
Los personajes son buenísimos (tanto los principales como los secundarios) y las relaciones que se van creando entre ellos son súper creíbles y se construyen de una manera muy natural (no puedo con la química que manejan los actores en esto, en serio. La pareja principal se convirtió en una de mis favoritas y a él lo amo a niveles que no puedo expresar... Tienen momentos TAN bellos juntos, son todo lo que sí ?)

Algo que amé es la forma en la que se toca el tema de la salud y el amor propio. No es una serie que te haga sentir mal con vos mismo, nada que ver, está todo visto desde una perspectiva bastante positiva. No te venden la idea de que si sos flaco te vas a querer y vas a ser feliz, eso se agradece.

Obviamente además del tema de la prota intentando bajar de peso, tenemos los dramas de los personajes secundarios y varias cositas más... En general me gustó todo, salvo un detalle de la subtrama de uno de los amigos del prota (que es luchador). La chica que termina siendo su pareja es el "no, mi ciela" máximo.

En fin, es una serie muy divertida, con personajes súper queribles y una trama bien llevada que cierra por todos lados (además, dentro de lo posible, evita caer en clichés).

Pd: Si yo tuviera a ese entrenador, también me pondría las pilas(? ?

If you are a fan of romantic comedies you have to watch "Oh My Venus" just for the main love story alone. They are so cute together, it will make you squeal and swoon. This was on my plan to watch list forever and put off watching it just because the plot sounds cliche and silly and it is. They didn't do a great job with depicting side plot and conflicts. Many of the side characters' relationships and motives were confusing and not fully fleshed out. There was lots of filler scenes especially towards the end, but all that almost doesn't matter. What the writers and actors got right was the romantic relationship which is really the heart of it. The negatives don't detract that much from the pleasure of this drama for me because the plot contrivances don't last too long or cause too much unnecessary angst. There is a favorable balance of the good versus the bad in terms of screen time.

The 2 main leads carried this drama. I liked So Ji Sub in "Master's Son" but I LOVED!! his character in this drama. I don't think a personality like him exists in real life, but I guess that's why I am thankful for dramas. His character Kim Yeong Ho is the capable and tough protector that those close to him all depend on. But he also shows a vulnerable and sexy side and an unwavering devotion to the woman he falls for. I really liked Shin Min Ah as Joo Eun too. Her character is bright and cute and is a good match for Yeong Ho. Their relationship is reciprocal and caring and you can feel why they love each other. Together they elevate an uneven and cliche-ridden plot making this one of the more pleasurable and easy to watch shows I've seen. This caused me lots of missed sleep this week. I easily watched the whole thing in 4 days.
