Maravillosa, fabulosa, preciosísima serie!!! Pasa a mi top de series preferidas de todos los tiempos junto a DOTS, CLOY, Goblin, Replysss!!!! Lo tiene todo, una bonita historia de superación con un profundo mensaje, una pareja con una grandísima química y con una de las relaciones más sanas y maduras que he visto en los dramas coreanos, unos secundarios perfectos, momentos dramáticos de llorar a moco tendido y momentos muy cómicos con los que te partes de la risa. Esta historia es perfecta para levantar el ánimo, para animarte a emprender nuevos proyectos, para empezar a cuidarse de uno mismo, de nuestro cuerpo y nuestra mente, tiene mil y una enseñanzas, valores, buaaa, necesitaría muchas líneas para describirla...
Qué obra maestra de la comedia romántica!!!! Ahora entiendo la alta valoración en viki, la tiene muuuuy merecida!! En MDL solo un 8,3 pero qué es estooooooo, merece mucho más!!

This is one you’ll go back and rewatch

At first I avoided this drama. I wasn’t crazy about the idea of a female lead that was chubby, unattractive, and going nowhere in her life. It didn’t seem like it would be a fun watch, especially when the female lead is caught in lots of embarrassing situations. And from the previews it looked like the male lead was super fit, attractive, and full of himself. I just didn’t like the dynamics of the situation. But it got so many glowing reviews that I finally broke down and watched it. And boy am I glad I did! It’s nothing like I expected.

Okay yes I felt a lot of second hand embarrassment for the female lead in the beginning. But a lot of it was quite comical and I found myself laughing along. And we needed to see just how low she had gotten to understand how much she truly accomplished. Because her character explodes with growth and you can’t help but root for her. The female lead starts out clumsy and lazy then transforms into this sassy little warrior that gives you all of the feels.

The male lead is super fit and we get to see his shirtless workout routine right away setting the stage for what appears to be a narcissistic hardworking overachiever type of character. But things are not as they appear. He has had a very tough life and was shown no love and little mercy. He has a lot of growth and healing to do too. Seeing him conquer his problems and fight for the life he wants was an absolute pleasure to watch. One thing I liked about him was his concern for the female leads health and safety. He was very much a gentleman. And when he said his ideal woman was a Jiu Jitsu expert because “a woman that can defend herself is sexy,” I had mad respect for him.

The romance was one of the best kdrama romances I’ve seen. Their chemistry just leaped off of the screen. I especially appreciate that the male lead starts falling for the female lead while she’s still chubby. When she lost some weight in her face I loved how obsessed he became with her dimples. When he poked her dimples and asked “what is this?” hovering inches from her face with utter fascination in his voice, you know he’s fallen for her. Then a few days later, her muscles are sore so she decides to go for a massage and he freaks out thinking about some muscular dude massaging her. So he insists she use his massage chair. And of course their first kiss and his bold pursuit of her is while she’s still chubby. The fact that he liked her long before she lost all of her weight made the romance feel less superficial and more genuine to me. Especially when he often emphasized that her health was most important to him, not her weight. I love how they interacted as a couple. His obsession with her dimples is so bad that he calls them his dimples and he melts every time she smiles.

The side characters are all great actors and added so much to the story. I appreciate that they weren’t just used as filler but had interesting stories of their own to tell. They were super funny and tons of fun to watch. I especially loved the relationship the male lead had with his two buddies. This is rare drama that I did not fast forward through any of the side characters storylines.

As with every drama, there were a few things I didn’t like. I really dislike that there was a long period of time where the leads were apart and it’s hard to watch. The reason was understandable and warranted under the circumstances. And the speech the female lead gave giving her undying support to her man was epic. She was trying to fortify him for the difficult road ahead that he chose to traverse alone to spare her and it was so inspiring. Fortunately the separation only lasted one episode and the reunion was most definitely worth waiting for. But I still detest separations and had to deduct half a point for that. I also wasn’t crazy about the final scene in the airport. But it was only one brief little scene so it was okay I guess.

Overall I give this high marks. It has a unique storyline, amazing acting, great chemistry, lots of character growth, it’s fast paced, very funny, and quite touching. This is a true gem I would highly recommend to anyone.

Its a Pretty Cute drama. I loved it.
I found it so refreshing and the story progressed beautifully. it'll keep you hooked till the end. The chemistry between the leads is just explosive. They are so cute together. ????????The comedy is actually great. The cast is actually amazing. Shin Min Ah's character was nice. Of course So Ji sub looked amazing in his character. Henry was so cute. They all just get together so brilliantly. Music is gentle and suitable, Specially whistle music.????
I don't know why i didn't watch this drama earlier. It was really fun, meaningful in many ways and just so cute. It's such a fulfilling show. I really enjoyed it. Must watch. ❤️

Simply Beautiful drama ever . Absolutely worth watching .All the characters was amazing.
Role of leads was inspirational.Especially Kang Joo Eun, i loved it how fascinating her personality was, favourite female lead ever.
beautiful chemistry between leads .And the most cutest background music... Lastly This is a must watch,One of the most meaningful drama,it will make you laugh,cry and gives different perspective of seeing your life. I don't know why I ignored it.but now glad that I watched it.So, don't keep any doubts.
You'll never regret watching it.watch it now.

Story wise, this really isn't new or innovative at all. I have watched 200 Pound Beauty which seems to be the ORIGINAL 'weight-loss' story. I haven't watched Birth of A Beauty which seems to be the most recent and alike incarnation of this storyline. How the story tried to separate this show from others, and which it did quite well, is to emphasize the health aspect of weight loss, as opposed to the beauty aspect. The show doesn't try to shout this at you, but it's so imbued in the characters that you just get it.

The antagonists aren't very antagonistic and don't pose much of a threat to the lead characters. That's both a credit to the writing of both the antagonists and leading couple.

What I really love about the leading couple is their strength, their maturity. No unnecessary angst, mother-in-law drama or dead-fish kisses here. It's enhanced so much by the chemistry and ease between Shin Mina and So Ji Sub.

There really isn't much happening story-wise, and this is where the cast saves it from becoming a snooze fest. Shin Mina and So Ji Sub feel very comfortable with each other and it really adds to their fantastic chemistry as a leading couple. It's my first time watching Yoo In-young and I really like what she did with an otherwise tepid character. There's really nothing much to comment on Jung Kyeo-woon, because it seems he was given very little material to work with.

Overall, a pretty light and uplifting drama, but somewhat forgettable.

This is the number one feel good romantic drama of the year. Great main character couple, So Ji Sub and Shin Min Ah, with off the chart chemistry. What an amazingly cute couple. Shin Min Ah, got so beautiful as she got a little older from My Girlfriend is a Ghumio. Her trademark dimples were so incredibly cute, you've got to see how it worked to rope in So Ji Sub. After Master's Sun, I was not sure if he could do another drama, that could measure up. I was pleasantly wrong. Oh my Venus, surpassed my expectations. This man stays in incredible shape, so being a fitness coach was a great fit for him. I also absolutely loved the supporting cast as well. 5 of my favorite male actors in one drama is almost mind blowing. If you understand English, Henry, from Super Junior was a hoot.

Drama was so good, the episodes went so fast. It was funny, it was incredibly romantic, I thoroughly enjoyed it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!

I LOVED this series but had one problem with it.

As the headline says, I adored this drama, the story, cast, the chemistry was on point the entire series. You can feel the chemistry from the leads and see how it was her health that the main focus even though at first the female lead was more concerned about reclaiming what she had when she was younger. I loved how they explored not only weight loss in a safe healthy way and a dangerous way but also rehabilitation from injuries.
My biggest issue was the ending, it left me wanting more from their journey. They went through so much I wanted a big wedding or to progress further on her being pregnant but healthy. Even a well rounded pudgy preggo tummy in a wedding gown that the grandma looks at happily because she got her big wedding present from them. I needed to see Mr. Coach as a dad with little munchkins hanging on him while he playfully lifts them likes weights.
I think we could have gotten that ending if they focused on the main leads more vs the second leads as much in the last two episodes.
but all in all I loved it so so soooo much.

Minha irmã era dorameira muito antes de mim e, apesar de ter demorado um bom tempo para que eu começasse a assistir doramas, Oh My Vênus (2015,KBS,16) foi o primeiro drama que despertou meu interesse. Inconscientemente, todas as vezes em que eu passava pela sala enquanto ela assistia, achava divertido, então, vi alguns pedaços aqui e ali e gostei do que vi... Algum tempo depois quando finalmente venci meu preconceito inicial em relação aos doramas asiáticos e me rendi a esse universo, tive uma vontade imensa de assistir esse drama por completo e amei a história.

A primeira coisa que me agradou nessa comédia romântica foi a personalidade forte da protagonista, que embora tenha sido traída e largada pelo namorado de longa data, após ter deixado de ser tão bela como costumava ser porque engordou bastante durante os anos, nunca se deixou abater e lidou com tudo isso de uma forma tão bem-humorada deu gosto de ver.

O protagonista além de bonito e rico era encantador, e tão gentil e compreensivo com ela que me fez amá-lo cada vez mais, a relação de amizade entre ele e os personagens secundários era muito cativante também, e o final além de muito engraçado foi exatamente a altura de todo o drama.

My favorite drama !
So Ji-sub is my favorite actor, he's charismatic, a really good actor. I discovered him in "Sorry, I love you, The master's sun, Ghost and now in this drama, oh god, he's Awesome!!!
Shin Min Ah is excellent in this drama too. A very nice love story.
I enjoyed each episodes.. The further we go in this story the more we discover the personality of each personnages, their feeling, emotions and especially their own story. The love story between Kim Yeong Ho & Kang Joo Eun is very interesting and so cute, so many funny moments too. Jung Gyu Woon is so funny !
Of course it's not "The Perfect drama" but it's a really good drama with good actors. I don't know how many times I watched this drama!! haha ! :-)

Oh my goodness. I devoured this drama in four days, I just couldn't put it down and when I went about my tasks not watching it, I smiled like a complete buffoon. It's a feel good show with phenomenal cast, important messages and such sweet moments that you won't need to eat candy any time soon.

The story is quite simple and begins with a strong tempo. This shifts a bit in the second half of the drama and it significantly slows down, using a lot of flashback montages. It also introduces several potential endings, yet keeps going and ties every single storyline with a bow so the final episode is also very satisfactory. However, there is one twist in the second half which I felt was totally extra and didn't need to be used. On the other hand, I appreciated how the drama was focused mostly on health and not artificial things that are so often utilised with the topic it depicts.

As for the cast, you cannot help it but LOVE every single character with a passion. The chemistry between SJS and SMA is almost electric, they play so great off of each other, it is a joy to watch them. The other members of the "squad" are excellent as well. You feel for them, root for them, laugh and cry with them. And that is a good thing, the characters in this drama make you feel a lot, but not in a draining way.

The music is superb, at least two songs are stuck in my head already. I will definitely rewatch this, maybe even during Christmas since it takes place in December as well.

I highly recommend this drama, especially if you feel a bit down and unmotivated.

nothing remarkable

i was excited to finally watch this show since i’ve been recommended this multiple times but i just couldn’t. i couldn’t finish this.

the story itself is nothing extraordinary but it is not often a drama talks about weight loss n being healthy in a relatively ‘positive’ way. i like that the boy trio helped out and the bond they seemed to have created but she was not fat. she was just over a view pounds so it’s annoying to see everyone call her obese and fat. i suppose we can blame societal differences on this.

the acting itself was again, nothing compelling. female lead is fun and carries most of the show on her shoulders because our male lead has a total of 3 facial expressions. 3!!! our side characters feel hallow and flat given that we don’t see much of them as their own people. the side couple between the model n our boxer was frustrating because she literally stalked and forced herself with him multiple times.

nothing remarkable about the music either.

nothing much i could say about this. story felt disjoined and hallow as a recflection of the script and acting. maybe if this was not 16 episodes it would’ve felt alright to be so empty but this just didn’t work out
