Finally gave this a third chance!
I've dropped this 2 times in the past and finally gave it a chance this time around. Maybe part of the reason why I dropped it was the first few episodes were slow paced and was only into it because of Sung Rok (Jae Kyung). There's some plot holes here in there that doesn't make sense for me but kdramas dont have to make sense necessarily 😂
I had just wished they explore more of the other characters.
Overall, this is such a timeless kdrama! no wonder its listed as one of the classics. I could understand now why the craze over this

K-Trauma of the Year 2024 goes to...
What a ride this drama took me on. *Mr. Plankton* gave me so much comfort, even though the ending was sad and inevitable. It’s not just about the love that Hae Jo and Joo Jae Mi share—it’s about the things that make life worth living. The way it talks about life and death hit me hard. Life is so short, and death can come when we least expect it, so we need to live fully. Even if we feel lost or like we’re just drifting, it’s okay. There’s still value in living and trying to find our way.
This drama really stayed with me. It made me realize how important it is to make something out of life, no matter how small or insignificant we might feel. It was such a touching reminder to live, even when things seem uncertain or tough.

A Guilty Pleasure
My Sassy Girl (2017) is a historical romantic-comedy Korean drama that reimagines the 2001 hit movie of the same name in a Joseon-era setting. The story follows a free-spirited and headstrong Princess Hyemyung (played by Oh Yeon-seo) and a scholarly but pragmatic commoner, Gyeon Woo (played by Joo Won). The princess, notorious for sneaking out of the palace and causing trouble, is determined to uncover the truth about her mother's mysterious death. Meanwhile, Gyeon Woo, known as the "Nation's Treasure" for his intelligence, unwittingly gets involved in her antics, leading to comedic misunderstandings and romantic tension
Personal Anecdotes:
Nothing grandeur about this drama. It pulls off cliches just fine i guess and has its balance.

Girl's Girl Kdrama of the Decade!
A beautiful drama about a friendship of four amazing women! 💆🏻♀️💗I loved how eccentric this drama felt and how the writers pulled off the clichés in a fresh and enjoyable way. The "virtuous business" theme gave it a unique touch, making it stand out on its own.The lineup for this drama was unexpectedly impressive. Kim So Yeon playing the coy yet brave Han Jeong Seuk was such a refreshing change from her previous roles. I’d say the same for Yeon Woo Jin! I’m so glad this drama really highlighted their versatility, especially acting-wise.
I also loved how the drama took the time to introduce each character’s backstory and narrative in a way that didn’t stray from its synopsis. It helped emphasize values of friendship, love, and family out of all. The plot itself felt fresh and new to me. It’s an educating K-drama, shedding light on stigmas from the 1990s while keeping things engaging and meaningful.
I had just wished the main leads had more screen time in the later episodss sigh...
Overall, this was a guilty pleasure of mine and was watching this along side other kdramas hahaha😄

A Star was Born
The moment JN lost her voice was truly the turning point—it was where the show truly began. Before that, a star was waiting to be born, and losing her voice was what ultimately made her shine. JN's final performance was absolutely breathtaking! I was completely immersed in the moment, and it felt as though I was witnessing a genuine gugeuk performance. This drama was written so wonderful. From the adaptation to its original webtoon of the same name down to the acting of the amazing actors. A job well done to the cast and crew honestly!👏🏻
This is just one of the few dramas where I want a follow up. I'll be waiting for the Season 2 indefinitely 🤍🤍
The gay subtext hello ?!?!🤣
anyway all things aside! Maeran's final performance (?) was bone chilling🤭🤭

The title of this drama is misleading
Instead of Dear Hyeri it should have been Dear Eunho or Dear Hyun Oh😭The drama started so strooong but somehow managed to drag the plot with just 12 episodes!
This drama could have been one of the greatest healing genre out there but suffered greatly from bad screenwriting.
Its quite sad seeing the ratings here go from an 8.5 to a 7.3 however understandable.
There were too many plots going on and I could say it was all over the place. Despite its title, the kdrama showed more of Hyun Oh's story than Hyeri's or even Eunho's at all. Moreso, I found it hard to follow the story with many (unnecessary) side plots from including of from side characters.
I personally think this would've done well as a rom-com. The drama doesn't build up its plot well which caused me confusions constantly.
The ending satisfied me just fine though. I also enjoyed Jinwook and Hyesun's chemistry. I just wish their love story could've been conveyed well..so i guess thats some few good stuff about this drama.
If you're gonna watch this I suggest to watch it with something light. It gets depressing along the way.
Overall, its a 7.0! Just because I appreciate the thought ??? that this kdrama could have been 😞

This kdrama felt like 2017
I felt like I got transported back to 2017. The cinematography, the setting, the story felt so nostalgic which I really liked. It felt like a fresh take from other recent kdramas which isn't a bad thing at all but I liked it.( I am aware this is an adaptation from a BL manhwa)Anyway aside from that, the 8 episodes felt so short 🥲. In a sense that I wanted to see more of the two ML hahaha. However the drama really did a job well done at tying and summing everything up to the last episodes. the drama didnt drag the plot for long nor did the pace felt too fast. Personally, it really ended on a good note despite being short-lived.
If i had anything to say bad about this one at all then it would be that I was able to watch this in a day 🥲🥲
im gonna miss my boys so much!! will go on and continue their story through the manhwa.
If you decide to watch this then you should mind its only 8 episodes. Definitely don't expect anything of a grand ending lol. I rate dramas generously so I'd say this is a decent watch.
overall a 10/10 🤞🏻❤️
a must watch? not necessarily no 😗
