Chemistry? As artificial as plastic.
The plot? A classic case of Ctrl+C, Ctrl+V.Our ML’s family member gets killed, and he’s back for revenge. Out of a quarter billion women around his age, who does he fall for? The enemy’s daughter, of course(here they are childhood sweethearts so one more clichè comes free) And—because fate has a wicked sense of humor—she’s conveniently average-looking. Chinese writers, I feel for you; creativity has officially hit saturation.
It follows the same age-old pattern: ML hides his identity, regrets it later, and oscillates between holding and leaving the FL—all in the name of "protecting" her. No new tricks, no fresh twists, just déjà vu in HD.
Now, onto the cast.
Dai Gao? The man can do no wrong—except here. I’ve seen him as a king, a bodyguard, an army general, a boxer, a model, a gangster (kind of), and now, a company chairman. And let’s be real—he absolutely devours that rectangular-framed, clear-glass, three-piece suit aesthetic. YUMMY. But his acting? Surprisingly... mid. Why? We’ll get to that.
Jin Zi Yuan is a solid actress, but she just didn’t bring her A-game. She thrives in period dramas, where she fits like a glove, but in modern settings, she sticks out like a misplaced extra. In this role, her expressions were rigid, and her dialogue delivery felt about as natural as a scripted reality show.
Now, their chemistry—oh boy. If childhood friends are supposed to have an unbreakable bond, these two must’ve had severe amnesia. Lovers? Barely. Their dynamic felt like an arranged marriage where intimacy exists, but it’s as thrilling as watching paint dry. This is precisely why Dai Gao’s performance didn’t shine—there was just nothing to work with.
As for the rest of the cast... well, they exist. Overacting galore, as if none of them attended even a single acting workshop.
And the background music? Or should I say, the complete lack of an impressionable soundtrack? A final nail in the coffin.
So, should you skip this drama?
No, no—watch it. But only if your expectations are lying comfortably six feet under.

Cliffhanger love story
The story was moderate to complex. Plot revolves around the FL who happens to be a part time prostitute cum contract killer working for a pavillion run by PM of the state to kill his rival in politics.Where he used to trained kids to become deadly killers.
Though everything was quite interesting but there was nothing surprising about the entire story ..you can pretty much predict what is going to happen next. And honestly speaking I actually got bored in the middle of the series (Either way I sticked around)
Just to figure out it was a cliffhanger sort of ending. 😮💨😮💨😮💨😮💨
The ML and FL are gorgeous❤️❤️ .. chemistry was amazing🙂🙂 , to be specific their love making scenes very detailed ..I haven't seen such love making scenes in any other drama (150-200 to be exact)) so far ... THE ACTORS AND THE ENTIRE TEAM MUST BE Appreciated FOR Delivering SUCH REFINED PERFORMANCE.
though the character themselves were quite boring 😔😔😔 NGL the FL was pitiful ..being a killer she can do amazing kungfu yet her personality was so timid...aaahhh !!! 🥺🥺🥺🥺
female character are portrayed stronger than Male character which is the another best thing about this drama ..
Background Music/ ending sound track was lovely.
Overall a Good watch

You can't write a creative ending .. just kill the ML
I just can't wrap my mind around this trend of killing ML in the end of short drama ... I mean for number of ML killed like this so far makes me wonder if there 's any man left alive in china. Ridiculous right ??? So is the screen writing. They write tragic ending to the dramas where it's not even necessary. Stupid writers .Anyways drama is okay .. we have a nice, strong, independent FL here, reborn after husband's betrayal. Dai gao's character has his own plan to reach her .. after a lot of understanding and misunderstanding they come together. . further misunderstandings she felt betrayed and dumps him .. in the end he dies saving her. (Thank you)
PS: I am thinking of keeping a copy of this review and paste it for all the shows on same plot.. it will save me days of my precious time.

Alone in a foreign land, i'm an exile.. whenever holidays come I miss my kin even more.
From the moment This show was announced, It went straight up my watchlist.Fast forward to now, I’ve watched 28 episodes, and wow, what a ride it’s been! An absolute gem, delivering a perfect mix of emotions, action, and thrills. I am totally hooked and here' why ...First of all, Dylan Wang. I mean, is there anything this guy can’t do? His charm, acting, and energy are on another level. Every time he’s on screen, it’s impossible to look away, fighting villains, or delivering heartfelt lines, he’s perfect in all .Honestly, he could just stand there, and I’d still be entertained.
2) This drama is literally serving a genre buffet under the sun comedy, romance, crime, action, suspense, thrill, friendship, brotherhood—you name it.
3) The plot flows smoothly with zero dull moments. The events are perfectly assembled, and the writing? Brilliant !!!!! especially the poetic dialogues and comedic sequences.
4) The entire cast is amazing, Not a single weak link. All the actors from his aunt to mentor are nailing their roles, and I especially love the female leads— such talented beauties all having a unique dynamic chemistry with Dylan.
5) The relationships in this drama, whether family, friends, or colleagues, feel so real and meaningful. The way his family goes above and beyond to save him during troubles even when that's not even his biological family , numerous times his uncle took a beating for me ..his aunt who was first so indifferent towards him gradually turned so warm and collected. His friends, always standing by him..~ loyal and unwavering ..and his mentor, willing to destroy the entire sect to avenge his 'death' —pure gold. This drama resonates all the bonds in a person's life so beautifully, making me feel lonely in my own life ❤️
6) Cinematic Action & VFX are dazzling lifelike, each sequence is grand and cinematic, making it a visual feast.Plus the choreography in action scenes ~ Mind-blowing.
7) Attention to Details in the set designing, is a chef’s kiss almost like pulling you right into the world of Dafeng.
8) The intricate styling and lovely costumes .. even when they were not very specially designed but still giving that genuine feudal era vibes and Putting the scenes in harmony with the characters enhancing the overall aesthetic of the drama
9) And the OST—don’t even get me started! I usually don't pay attention to songs but Common Men and Immortal Poet have been on repeat since I heard them.
10) What I love most is the message this drama sends: if you’ve got talent and stay true to yourself, even the most powerful people will come to you.
I am looking forward to the upcoming episodes...

My official IT couple of 2024 living better than my expectations in 2025
I genuinely can’t remember the last time I wished a series had more episodes. This one? So good. So addictive. I don’t even have the words.First of all, Dai Gao is my absolute favorite. Second, Chen Fang Tong—another favorite. And third, these two together? My official IT couple of 2024. They’ve completely hijacked my brain, and honestly, I’m not even mad about it.
Now, about the plot—yes, it was a little repetitive and predictable, but it was also fast-paced, heartwarming, and ridiculously enjoyable. The story goes: they spend a night together (for whatever reason), but no strings attached. They part ways. ML falls in love after that night but can't find her, so he just suffers in silence. Then, bam—six years later, she reappears with five-year-old twins. ML has no idea if he’s the father. They start living together under “special circumstances,” and voilà—feelings develop.
But let’s be real—the main highlight was, once again, the electric chemistry between Dai Gao and Chen Fang Tong. These two were already good, but this time? They shattered their own record. The level of comfort they share in both playful and intense scenes is so obvious, it makes me want to ship them in real life (assuming they’re not already taken, of course). The way Dai Gao instinctively places his hand behind her head or waist—to either protect her from injury or balance his weight on her—like, sir, calm down, even real husbands don’t operate at this level of care. I swear, I watch him with glittery eyes 🥺 every time he does this. This man is too good to be true.
Chen Fang Tong, on the other hand, balances his intense presence perfectly. While Dai Gao exudes a seductive and serious aura, she brings an adorable, sweet, and playful energy. I could write an entire book on them, but let’s not get carried away. Moving on!
Now, onto the characters.
ML is a boxer (though someone please explain why he keeps kicking in fights—since when do boxers do that?). He’s a kind soul, a hardworking man who chases his passion and holds onto his morals, only to be defeated by fate (okay, fine—by FL’s rich father).
FL, on the other hand, is the definition of a powerhouse. A young single mother, a responsible, rich, resourceful, and successful businesswoman, the financial provider for her family—she’s not the type to chain a man down just because she accidentally got pregnant with his kids (not to mention, she was under the influence at the time). She’s inspiring, independent, and everything a leading lady should be.
Now, villains? Oh, we got a villain duo + one vamp package. The villains have conflicting interests, while the vamp—your standard, low-IQ woman—throws herself at ML from every possible angle. Her tricks? So repetitive they could be copy-pasted into every drama ever.
The music? Absolute banger. The OST/BGM, especially Rain Love, had me in my feelings.
But we’re here to nitpick even perfection, right? So, let’s talk about the issues.
1. Their past is barely addressed. Like, give me something. We never get a proper explanation of how they met, what led to that fateful night, or why FL never told ML about her pregnancy. I get that she’s a woman of high pride, but some men (the good ones, anyway) actually want to be involved in their children’s lives. They want to take responsibility, cherish fatherhood, and watch their kids grow. If ML was the father, he deserved to know. Period.
2. Ten out of thirty episodes were spent applying ointment to each other’s wounds. At this point, they could’ve bagged an ointment sponsorship deal if they had just tried.
But aside from those minor complaints? Chef’s kiss. This drama was perfect to my taste, and I’ll definitely be rewatching it. Because why not?
Anyway, this was one hell of a long review—hope you don’t mind! See you in the next one. Byeee!

Fairly absurd
The plot is an absolute mess, revolving around body-swapping and forbidden relationships. Overnight, the female lead (FL) becomes the concubine of the male lead’s (ML) father. As if that weren’t outrageous enough, ML’s consort and FL switch bodies, leaving FL utterly confused—should she treat ML as her consort or her stepson?Just when it seems things couldn’t get more tangled, ML’s consort, while in FL’s body, sleeps with her foster brother. When they finally return to their original bodies, the consort discovers she is pregnant with ML’s child—a result of what happened while FL was in her body. Out of all the people in the world, did these four had to sleep with each other ?
As for the cast, they are just as disappointing as the script. The acting is flat, the visuals uninspiring, and the chemistry dull. With nearly every character entangled with another, it’s hard to even assess who had chemistry with whom.
When a story starts off this poorly, expecting a satisfying ending is wishful thinking (no further spoilers).

No passion.. No plot...No point
Ah, the age gap trope—so few dramas do it right, and this one? Absolutely did not. Our ML is the "God of Boring," and our FL? A "Goddess of Bad Decisions." If the writers were trying to make her cute, they failed spectacularly—cute is not a synonym for brainless, yet here we are. She’s the type of damsel in distress who runs barefoot into trouble like it’s a hobby. The chemistry? Negative. A black hole has more energy than this couple. Lead actress can use some ( okay a lot) acting classes. and ML should join her on weekends.
Overall you can watch it if you want a nap otherwise skip it.

Freaking Ice queen and her Plastic tears
honestly, this show left me wondering why it has so much hype in the first place.it delivered nothing of the sort. The entire plot was surrounded by a failed attempt to capture the boring family dynamics and romance which is entangled in melodrama and cliches. The fancy lead couple felt more awkward than emotionally connected. till episode 12 i actually felt no couple(married) vibes through them.. after that it was all wrapped around the tragic memory loss plot that gave that barely there true love feel to it.Rn i am so bored to even write this review so you can fathom the dept of my disappointment in this show .. anyways..
the narrative is so overwhelmed by unnecessary melodrama, meanwhile the scenes where rather strong emotions were needed, the reactions felt flat and dull. the pace of the plot was snail sped too much content and time was wasted on things which were adding no concrete substance to the story ..for example ML's father's scenes about his election campaign were extremely stupid and forced funny.
Not only this but There were literally way too many characters and side stories, making the whole thing feel messy and hard to follow. Hong Hae In (played by Kim Ji Won) finds herself caught in a whirlwind of health problems and family betrayals, which should be touching, but instead, it’s a mess of unneeded drama. first she wanted surgery to escape death then she started overreacting as soon as she heard of the potential memory loss after treatment which was so unrealistic .. i mean come on .. anyone will prioritize life over memory cause if you live you can rebuilt those memories ..but if you die memories die with you .. her character remains so damn irritating till the last min ..like she literally gives no straight answer to any question/statement no matter how serious the matter or feelings are involved she always answers in an 'as if i care' roundabout manner ... i felt even more bad for kim soo hyun , his character was so weak and unlikeable in the first half of the show and the second half was so packed with melodrama that there wasnt much for him to do other than using tear drops. his character kind of lost its spirit in all the chaos and mess. Well ..to be honest this screenwriting did no justice to his talent as an outstanding actor.
Background music was possibly the best thing ... Secondly the wordrobe ..may be not the best but still good ( IMO judge from hell has best wordrobe and styling so far)
in the end i am still not convinced by the level of marketing they did to promote this show .. or may be they knew the show is lacking at good writing so atleast lets promote it good.

The proper revenge rebirth plot with satisfactory dosage of hell fury
Revenge/rebirth plot always have a strange attraction to them ... As they are not based on fairytale love but mostly based on the real emotions we face in our lives ...betrayals ...heartbreaking.. backstabbing etc ... This series too had the same feel to it ... But what made it more attractive was the act performed by the actors ... FL took the revenge thing to a next level .. the way she acted like her eyes full of anger and disgust everytime she looks at the lover who betrayed her .... WOW .. you see I am very peculiar about emotions, they have to match the plot .. and this particular plot needs to be acted with grey and perhaps black emotions ... The ML was equally compelling, and their chemistry? Simply electric. The story maintains a steady pace, never dragging or feeling rushed. It blends realism with drama seamlessly, keeping the audience hooked throughout.
If you’re a fan of revenge tales that don’t sugarcoat emotions, this series is a must-watch.
Strongly recommended for those who love a mix of realism and drama!

Expected so much more from the Dai Gao x Hu Yi Yao duo… sigh.??
The storyline? Let’s just say it dragged slower than a Windows XP update on a Monday morning. The whole forbidden love between step-siblings trope might have its niche audience, but personally, it didn’t tickle my fancy. And don't even get me started on the background conspiracy—it had less depth than a kiddie pool. Instead of an intricate web of suspense and clever scheming, we got the chaotic antics of one audacious man who simply decided to be evil because... well, he could.
Honestly, when your villain doesn’t even try to cover his crimes—leaving behind ring-shaped bruises like calling cards—what’s the point of all the evidence hunting? Might as well hand him a neon sign that says “Yes, I did it. Catch me if you can.”
Now to the cast—the real saving grace. I’d been eagerly waiting to see Dai Gao paired with Hu Yi Yao (also with Wen Mo Ran and Hong Xiao). but the storyline didn’t give this couple room to shine. Dai Gao has that "burning with love and intensity" vibe, and Hu Yi Yao has nailed the seductive, mysterious roles in dramas like Bound by Sin and Secrets of SS. But here? They watered her down into a shy and mellow character, which just didn’t click—especially not next to Dai Gao’s smoldering presence.
This pair could've been sizzling, but the script gave them lukewarm leftovers. Let’s hope someone writes a better drama for them soon because I know they could set the screen on fire with the right material.
Now, the antihero... where do I even begin? This guy was hellbent on ruining the ML’s life for a crime the poor guy didn’t even commit. Like, what kind of unhinged energy is that? It’s giving “I need therapy but I chose violence instead.”
Overall, the story lacked structure, the events were poorly stitched together, and the writing didn’t do justice to the talented cast. If you're planning to watch this—brace yourself for disappointment, and maybe keep a second screen nearby so you don't doze off completely.

'Don't' king the land !!!
Ahhh!!! Where should I start from ?First I will talk about the Reasons to drop this show ..and trust me I have plenty ..
1) this drama has absolutely no story ..I mean it .. no story at all. The plot is flat ..like you are watching few individuals vlogging their everyday life. Come on!!
2) the consipiracy and suspension which is barely there, has no pinch of creativity to it.
3) absolutely lifeless dialogue writing which is apparently full of cringe , I mean you cannot find even a single phrase in entire 16 episode show , that retains in your mind as a good dialogue iykyk.how can any writer be so 'talentless'. There is only go- hard ,go-hard type nonsense.
4) well I am not the fan of these lead actors either .. their looks are just average and acting is even more pathetic . How in the Mary's world can you call her smile 'million dollar worth' beautiful?? 5$!!! i will pay maximum 5 $ for her smile . And my dear ML has no expression, I don't know if it's his botox or something else that man has same expression throughout the show, when he is happy, jealous or sad he looked the same. While he is quite popular in the list of top actors on MDL ..but how and why he is popular ??? Please Don't ask me.
5) no msg to the story ... I know a lot of dramas fall in no msg category but they commonly compensate it with an entertaining story ...meanwhile this drama has neither story nor msg ..AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF TIME.
Now I will come to the reasons for which you can barely sit in front of screen and pretend like you are watching this show ( no reasons to watch for real)
1) the cindrella story plot ... See!! if you are the type who can watch just anything as long as FL and ML are in love and if you are a fan of rich guy falling for pauper girl ..you can definitely give it a try.
2) the trip/vacation segments were okaish ..
3) the segments where FL and her besties celebrating each other special occasions were the best segments in my opinion. Those scenes were funny and entertaining.plus it was refreshing to see the emphasis on sisterhood.
In the end I still can't convince myself to convince someone else to watch this show ... This one was Totally waste of time and mood as far a my taste is considered.

Demon of boredom and cliches
A great cast but can't justify the shortcomings of the story, which is boring and moves too slowly.Despite being a fantasy-based show, the instances of magic and fantasy elements are surprisingly minimal, which is disappointing for a show about demon as ML.
The lack of imagination in the storyline makes it hard to fully engage with the world the characters inhabit.
The framework of the plot bears a striking resemblance to numerous other K-dramas, such as My Roommate is a Gumiho, Tale of the Nine-Tailed, and My Girlfriend is a Gumiho. The repetitive theme of a supernatural partner losing something crucial to their existence within a human counterpart feels uninspired and overused.
Additionally, the suspense throughout the series feels baseless, lacking the depth of conspiracy needed to keep viewers guessing. By the sixth episode, it becomes all too clear who the real villain is, making the story predictable and less engaging.
The chemistry between the leads is nice, but they sometimes seem awkward together. Their acting is good, though. But the lackluster plot and predictable twists ultimately prevent it from reaching its full potential as a captivating fantasy drama.

Didn't live up to my expectations
I had high hopes for this show but it was not like I expected ... Plot was too slow paced ..boring and monotonous.though the leads are very talented yet the chemistry was missing.
BORING ... I gave 2.5 stars for my boy Xu kai ..else this drama doesn't describe even a zero star rating ... Story is bogus and pathetic .. unrealistic plot where a family is listening to crap of every bypasser .. sorry .. CAN'T RELATE... Spare yourself the trouble and don't watch it at all ....

Undercover Hottie in the Classroom ~ OBSESSED ALREADY ❤️❤️
The drama is packed with action, suspense, comedy, and just the right dose of thrill. I had high expectations, but the introduction alone is living better than rent-free in my head! Sure ! I can bet on this one. Brilliant writing , i must say that. 👍Let’s talk about Seo Kang Joon—this man is a walking piece of art. An absolute Beauty. I could literally watch him just exist on screen for hours, and the shirtless scene? Holy Christ, my soul left my body! And him as a schoolboy? Unreal levels of stunning.
Jin Ki Joo plays the homeroom teacher, and while I haven’t seen much of her work, she’s holding her ground well here. And things will get more interesting once she joins the investigation (looking forward)
Then there’s Kim Shin Rok, who is great, but that wig? It deserves its own horror genre.
Chemistry between leads looked kinda playful which is obviously the best thing, there is a strong spark between them which is spiced up by their bickering dynamics🫰🫰🫰
The side cast is equally promising from bully boys' group to the Diva student council prez, everyone is just perfect in their roles (i am particularly interested in the kim min ju's character).
Overall, I totally hyped up for this one ❤️
( hope they finish it within this season other wise it will be a joy killer)

ENDLESS LOOP OF MALE LEAD DENIALS AND VILLAIN REAPPEARANCES
Alright, so this drama started strong—like a solid 8/10 type strong. The first 10-12 episodes? Pure gold. The character dynamics were tight, the plot had momentum, and the leads’ budding chemistry? Chef’s kiss. You could actually feel the tension, the excitement, the romance simmering just beneath the surface. But then… plot twist—someone clearly snatched the script away from the original writer and handed it to a confused intern on caffeine withdrawal. The last 30 episodes? Felt like a completely different drama.
Let’s talk about Mr. Morality aka the Male Lead. In the beginning, his unwavering principles and moral compass had me swooning. But soon, that same "righteousness" turned into full-blown annoying inflexibility. I wanted to reach through the screen and shake him. He went from "Wow, what a man!" to "Sir, can you not?"
Thank the drama gods for the Female Lead. She stayed rock-solid from start to finish. Captain of the army, martial arts master, drop-dead gorgeous, smart, kind, and could probably break your bones while reciting military strategy. And guess what? She didn’t simper around the ML like a lost puppy. She knew her worth, stayed cool under pressure, and handled her personal and professional life like a boss. People who criticized her conduct? Probably grew up under a rock in a deeply patriarchal setting. They just can't handle watching a woman with political aspirations or being pro at court politics .. but they definitely enjoy the plots where Male leads manipulate and abuse the FL .. force them into choices ... And it's quite disappointing most of such viewers are female ..anyways For me, she was a total inspiration.
Now let’s show some love to the supporting characters: FL’s badass dad, her physician BFF, the ML’s army bros, and his surprisingly layered father—actual scene-stealers.
Costumes and sets? Meh. Not terrible, but for a wuxia drama, I was hoping for more oomph.
Fighting choreography? Loved it.
Music? Let’s just say... I didn’t add anything to my playlist.
Now, brace yourself: by episode 12, the plot enters repetition hell. One villain makes six comebacks. SIX. I mean, is he immortal or just has frequent flyer miles to escape prison?
Also, ML’s character becomes a confusing blend of “sweet talker or spineless romantic?” I honestly couldn’t tell what was genuine and what was just... there for the drama.
Do I recommend it?
Yes—but with conditions. Definitely check out the first 10 episodes. They’re worth the time. After that, continue at your own risk... or if you just enjoy watching chaos unfold.
