Netflix ropes in Lee Jae Wook, Go Min Si, Kim Min Ha, and Lee Hee Joon for a horror K-drama
The first teaser for SBS's upcoming Friday-Saturday drama The Haunted Palace has been released.
The Haunted Palace is a fantasy drama that follows Yeo Ri (Bona), the only granddaughter of a famous shaman who refuses to accept her fate as a spirit medium, and Yoon Gap (Yook Sung Jae), who becomes possessed by an imugi, which is related to Yeo Ri, as they confront a vengeful spirit harboring a deep grudge against the royal family.
The teaser opens with highlighting Kang Cheol, an imugi who failed to ascend as a dragon despite a thousand years of training, and Yeo Ri, as she takes the imugi Kang Cheol for Yoon Gap. Kang Cheol coldly says, "I'm not that guy."
With Yoon Gap's face, he ravenously devours food and leaps over palace walls with uncanny agility, engaging in all sorts of bizarre antics. Before long, rumors spread within the palace that Yoon Gap has gone insane.
Though he appears to be a dignified royal archivist on the outside, Kang Cheol's true nature is that of an arrogant being who sees himself as above all. His blatant disregard for human hierarchy sparks laughter, as he nonchalantly picks his ears in front of the king while dressed in official robes and even engages in a scuffle with the monarch. His sheer audacity.
In response, Yeo Ri takes it upon herself to tame Kang Cheol. She clamps a hand over his mouth in front of the enraged king and bows her head in apology.
As such, the first teaser highlights the captivating character performances of Yook Sung Jae, Bona, and Kim Ji Hoon, giving a glimpse of their charm and dynamic character portrayals.
