Actress Kim Sae Ron passes away at 24

Actress Kim Sae Ron (24) has passed away. According to the Seoul Seongdong Police, Kim was found deceased at her residence in Seongsu-dong, Seongdong-gu, around 4:54 p.m. on February 16. A friend who had arranged to meet her visited Kim's home and discovered her, subsequently notifying the police. 

A police official stated, "As of now, no signs of intrusion or criminal activity have been confirmed, but the circumstances of the death are still under investigation."

Kim debuted as a child model in 2001 through the magazine "Enfant" and began her career as a child actor in 2009 with the film A Brand New Life.

She became widely known to the public the following year through the film The Man from Nowhere. She later appeared in the films The Neighbors and Manhole as well as the dramas Fashion King and The Queen's Classroom. 

Kim had been successfully shedding her child actor image and establishing herself as an actress but halted her acting career for three years after being fined 20 million won in 2022 for drunk driving, during which she crashed into a guardrail and a transformer.

At the time, she had been cast as Hyun Joo in the Netflix series Bloodhounds, but due to the incident, most of her scenes were edited out.

In April of last year, she attempted to resume her career through theater, but controversy arose, and she ultimately stepped down due to health reasons.
