Reincarnation, past lives, and the concept of death vs. life/immortality are very major themes in both series, only the FL is the supernatural being in SYIM19L, whereas the male lead is the supernatural being in Goblin. There is also bromance between the male leads in both series. Goblin is slightly more melodramatic and poetic than SYIM19L, but if you liked the romance in Goblin, you'll definitely enjoy the romance in SYIM19L.
So both shows seem to be completely different from each other but at the same time they both convey similar feeling when you watch them. They both have a serious plot line but at the same time have those little comical moments where you can't help but laugh. both women say "I love you" first but the man fell in love first. Both have great Bromance between the ML and guy friend/s.

Also the relationship between Bai Qi and Yang Jian is similar to that of Kim shin and the Grimm reaper in that they are enemies but do not go as far as killing each other although I am not sure what happens in the future.. All in all, the similarity is in the reincarnation, spirits/ghosts, romance, frenemies, rich man poor woman and the male lead wanting to protect the female lead while being in denial of his own feelings for her.. Not to mention the similarities in Kim Shin's sword and Bai Qi's umbrella. Awesome story so far..
